  1. I initially had this as well and it was because I was using the Phone option in the infotainment screen, which is Bluetooth, that disconnects wireless Carplay. I now use Bluetooth for CarPlay so my IPhone 5G connection is.
  2. Buying a Karoq with a factory fitted towbar can push the purchase price over £40k (uk) which adds £600 to the RFL for the first 6 years, applies to new and used. I opted to have the ŠKODA swivelling towbar fitted after I’d got the Karoq.
  3. I've searched the forums and not come across what I was looking for, so apologies if I missed it. I have an Iphone 14, latest version of IOS, 5G SIM (EE) . I initially accepted the default set up with Wireless Carplay which meant ALL Audio and Phone activity was through Carplay and the Telephone functionality of the Amundsen unit was redundant. I accepted this as progress. I've now discovered the downside of this; the Iphone is connected wirelessly to the Karoq's internal network 'My Skoda 9345' which I assume uses the built in SIM. Using Maps or Safari on the Iphone relies on builtin SIM's data connection, and its clearly no where near as good as the EE 5G sim in the Iphone. So in order to retain access to the superior EE 5G SIM in the Iphone I have switched to BT Audio for the Telephone, Carplay has also reverted to Bluetooth connection, and my Iphone now retains its 5G access. Is this the only way to do it or does someone know a way to use 'My Skoda 9345' but still retain the use of the Iphone SIM. I should add my Iphone supports WiFi calling which I have switched on.
  4. There are clearly variations between cars, possibly related to engine and DSG version, my DSG does not re-engage if the speed increases, luckily the max speed warning was set to 75 and it alerted me. I think battery level may and engine load may also be a factor. This morning first thing, with a fully charged battery and cool conditions coasting was active on a short journey, but mid morning when A/C was on and battery level may have dropped due to stop[/start usage, coasting was inactive. Agreed I found on my 260 trip yesterday with CC set to 70 that when coasting revs dropped to idle (around 800 rpm) whereas without coasting revs stayed at around 1800 rpm, more fuel must be used at 1800 than 800 rpm. Although the dashboard mpg figure can show "---" i suspect this means unable to calculate rather than no fuel being used. A DSG may be different but in my manual petrol car lifting off completely doesn't shut off the supply of fuel to the engine - as the engine doesnot cut out if I depress the clutch -its running at idle.
  5. Having recently acquired my Karoq, I’ve discovered what J believe is the DSG coasting feature. Something my 2013 Touran DSG did not have. The comments I read on the VW forum when coasting became available on the Golf (7.5?) were mostly unfavourable and also mentioned 2 cylinder mode, again often unfavourably. Mg understanding is that coasting will occur when lifting off from a light throttle setting, the gear display changes to a single letter without the number, I.e D or E or M or S, the engine does not switch off but revs drop to about 800 rpm. Touching either pedal re-engages the gearbox seamlessly. On undulating A and M roads it’s possible to coast for a mile or more without losing speed or to coast up to slower moving traffic. I think it does require concentration on reading the road and anticipation but it seems to me that it must save fuel. Especially as disengaging cruise control, even when set to 70 mph, will drop into coast mode, even on inclines. I don’t have adaptive cruise has anyone discovered if that uses coasting? How do others feel about the viasting feature?
  6. If the IPhone WiFi is off then CarPlay cannot link wirelessly to the phone. I was sitting in the services at Leigh Delemere this lunchtime and couldn’t access my email on my IPhone which was showing that it was using WiFi and not 5G. Disconnected the WiFi from MySkoda 9345, 5G restored and CarPlay stopped. Reconnecting WiFi to MySkoda9345 and CarPlay working. WiFi network MySkoda9345 is the internal car WiFi without a working sim you would not be able to have a hotspot for other devices without SIM cards. Of course if you have an iPhone with a SIM card it can act as a WiFi hotspot for other devices.
  7. Have you asked the Dealers Service Advisor to pull up the details of the work on Skodas central system - it may have more information eg parts replaced or refitted. Check the join on the tailgate seal it should be at the bottom.
  8. @tfsparkthat looks promising, fingers crossed it’s the solution. Roughly how much was the service kit? I know I mentioned circa £200 previously which @Ootoherequeried, it was based on what I had paid the local VW dealer (parts and labour) for each of the three services on the DQ250 in my Touran. I’m thinking that I will have the DQ381 in Karoq serviced around the 30k miles.
  9. @Ootoherethanks for posting the chart and link to the other thread. Interesting that there are different fluid requirements. @tfsparkhope your DSG issues are resolved by the service kit. It’s interesting that the kit includes the filter but only fluid is mentioned in schedule posted by Ootohere.
  10. I previously had a 2013 2.0 TDI Touran (from new) with 6 spd DSG wet clutch (DQ250) , had the DSG oil and filter changed every 35,000 miles, at 108,000 miles still operated perfectly, and I towed a 1.5 ton trailer quite a bit. I've not had my Karoq, which replaced the Touran, long enough to need a DQ381 oil change. However some faults with the DQ250 DSG boxes could be resolved with the oil and filter change. I realise that the DQ381 is a different box, but one of the reasons for the DQ250 oil change is because the oil collects the dust off the clutch plates. I've seen oil change intervals of 40k and 80k miles for the DQ381. At 34k miles your Karoq is approaching the 40K mark, an oil change is around £200 considerably less that the cost to have the Mechatroinic unit replaced. Worth considering?
  11. I obtained a matching alloy wheel, the molded centre tool storage complete with tools and the fixing clamp to hold the spare in the boot from Ebay and then had a tyre fitted.
  12. I forgot to mention that there is a previous thread about Tow bar prep which lists the what it includes, from memory it’s a Wiring loom to the rear and modifications to the front grill to improve cooling, although I believe the 2.0 engines may already have this grill.
  13. Having recently acquired a Karoq Sportline TSI DSG, and coming from a 2013 VW Touran (which did not coast) TDI DSG, I've just discovered 'Coasting', My 23 Karoq will Coast in Eco and Normal modes (I've not needed Sport mode yet!). II had deduced that coasting would only engage from a light throttle (which an OP has confirmed). Like others have said its horses for courses, Its early days yet but I'm suspecting that it would be possible to improve mpg using coast compared to using cruise (without ACC), the driver can 'read the road and traffic' lift off on downhill sections from a light throttle setting and coast where the Cruise control cannot. My Karoq hardly seems to lose much momentum in coast and the engine remains at idle rather than switching off. I can see that I might have to adopt a slightly different driving style - thats perhaps similar to that I use in in the Electric vehicle I drive - using regenerative braking rather than the friction brakes to control speed, which tops up the battery.
  14. You can ask for the build spec via the Chat feature on the Skoda website. They will need the VIN. It’s also possible to get the spec on the Certificate from the Remote access. A Skoda dealer can also get the Certificate from the database using the VIN. I had exactly the same question for the 2023 Sportline that I’ve just acquired - it didn’t have Tow bar prep. You also need to check the VIN plate on the door pillar has a GTW specified meaning it can legally tow. This is usually a 4 digit number above the axle 1 and axle 2 rating in Kg.

I’m 6’4” with long legs and find the Sports seats in my Sportline very supportive. They are not electric though.

+++UPDATE+++ Having saved TPMS setting for Primary and Guest the TPMS screen no longer pops up when starting the KAroq.
  17. Just like to say 'thanks' to everyone who has posted hints and tips. I've just fitted front and rear mudflaps. Both backs only took 30 minutes, I lubricated the centre pin of the expanding rivet with silicon grease it makes all the difference. I did remove the front wheels just to give my self room to drill the holes, as I didn't want to risk the drill wandering of course. I slid a plastic trim removal tool in behind the upper rivet hole to brace the wheelarch liner when pushing the rivet centre pin in. I concur with comment that 'the mudflaps really suit the Karoq' .
  18. VW Golf or T-Roc, both smaller inside and out than the Karoq. I suspect with your required options list it would have to be a factory order. Are you bothered by the VED rates that kick in when the list price goes over £40,000. If you were buying a 1.5 DSG SE L Karoq today that list of options would take the list price over the £40K, with VED rates of £1095 first year and £600 per year for years 2 through 6.
  19. I've not had my Karoq long, yesterday was the first time I had to use the windscreen wipers. The blades were noisy and not flipping over as they normally do and when I removed the blades I could see that they rubber had 'set' to one side , probably as a result of being sat in the sun with little use (its 6 months old and only done 1100 miles when I bought it) . The rubbers are removeable, the plastic end cap unclips and then the rubber can be removed. I turned the rubber round and reinserted it, hey presto the wipers are working silently and flipping over at the end of each stroke. I suppose this means it might be possible to buy just the rubber insert rather than the whole blade, when they wear. It should be cheaper and also better environmentally as well as there is less waste.
  20. I have now established what there 'non-warranty repairs were. This was a an oil and filter change service when the car was sold/transferred to the dealer I bought it from. The service indicator must have been reset on that date as it fits with the number of days to next service.

@logiclee Thanks for you information, I think it has enabled me to solve the problem. I started the Karoq and instead of press OK as Primary User I selected Change User to Guest, the TPMS Set pressures screen was displayed so I pressed SET and then Confirm - Tyre Pressures Saved. Switched off and then switched on again and changed back to Primary user. No TPMS screen displayed, drove somewhere stopped switched off , got out locked car. Came back started car no TPMS screen displayed , drove back home parked and locked car. Left the car 2 hours then started it and no TPMS screen displayed. I mentioned in one of my replies above that this happened most times but not everytime I started the Karoq. I think I may have worked out what it is. Sometimes when I started the car I would press OK to the Primary User profile most times though I just drove away, I assumed it had automatically accepted the OK for the profile. now I think it didn't have a Profile loaded and wanted the Tyre pressures set. I suspect that on the few occasions when I pressed OK the TPMS screen was not displayed because I had previously successfully stored tyre pressures. My current theory is that TYPMS tyre pressure data needs to be saved for both Primary User and the Guest user, and if you dont OK Primary and dont change to Guest you will be asked to provide TPMS tyre pressures because to continue driving without providing that information would mean the TPMS couldn't function correctly. I will verify this over the next few days.

Interesting. I have set up and account, I am primary user, I can access the car remotely using the Skoda Connect App. However despite setting up an S-PIN it doesn't remember and repeatedly asks me to set up an S-PIN again, which I do. SO perhaps my account is not not correctly linked. It did take many attempts to get it set up. I will try deleting myself and starting again.
  23. On a different car (Mitsubishi) I had exactly the same thing, and its quite alarming when a car speeds up after releasing the throttle. Mine was also a very high mileage vehicle, 160,00 miles or 256,000 kms. owned by me from new and always maintained correctly. The cause was a worn throttle body spindle. The spindle is what the butterfly valve is fitted to that regulates the amount of air going into the engine and thus the RPM. The various sensors on the engine are set to provide the correct amount of fuel and ignition timing for the position of the butterfly valve. With a worn spindle the butterfly valve no longer moves as expected by the driver and the engine sensors behave according to the actual butterfly valve position and not position intended by the driver. In my car the RPM was unpredictable sometimes it increased other times it didn't - very alarming in slow moving traffic as it could randomly increase by itself without any input from the driver! This might be what is affecting your high mileage FAbia.

Thanks for the replies - as far as I can tell I'm doing the same as you folk as I'm getting the Tyre Pressures saved message. Its almost as though it forgets that the pressures have been saved when the car is started after being parked. I will have to monitor to see if this only happens overnight or after a certain time as its not consistently after everytime the car has been locked.

Having collected my Karoq last Friday, I've noticed that everytime I start it up the TPMS system is asking me to SET the Tyre Pressures, so I touch the SET button and then the Confirm. But it asks me again the next time I start the car. I've checked all the pressures and they are 2.4 Bar on all 4 wheels. We have the same system on our 2015 Fabia and that does not behave in this way. Any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received.
