This weeks Auto Express (4-10 Oct) states that the SKoda Joyster has been confirmed by Skoda officials to go on sale in 2009. Also state that the new Fabia will have a 2 tone colour scheme with the roof painted a different colour as mentioned in an earlier post John

stopan1j replied to KentStu's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Bit out here, Kvasiny Superb and Roomster and has painting capacity for other models from other plants. Skoda Auto do not build cars at Pilzen. Skoda Holding (skoda.cz) thats is not Skoda Auto it Skoda Holding is a seperate engineering company. Mlada Boleslav Octavias and Fabias and not as far as I am aware still do not produce the Octavia RS Vrclarbi Octavia's RS and other specific Octavia models -

Agree with spencem your problem will be that you dont have the tmc equiped version of the cd - it costs more so thats why you wee supplied with the cheaper version probably. I have the OE navigation unit in both my cars and find the unit works well in all countries - I have travelled a lot using the navigation units but the tmc function has not helped me it has only warned of disruptions and not needed to divert - I use the manual tailback option very often to force a diversion. Must be just missing the delays!!! The only time it had a road closure was at the dartford tunnel when I had just passed a get off junction when it picked up the road closed signal:mad: If I was buying a new disk I would buy it with tmc but whether I could warrent the outlay if I had an up to date disk would be another matter - depend on your daily milage. If you like your coffee when you are in cz go for a traditional turckiska (sp) its ground coffee and hot water let it stand and give it a stir otherwise its like eating a teabag - its great tasting stuff - you can buy it in most places even the bar at the museum John

Jason dont underestimate the drive speed limits in France is 80mph and in Belgium,Holand and Czech republic are 70mph (reduced in some countries if raining)some of the last part of your journey in Germany will be on non-motorway, driving through the day the Roads will be very busy with a lot of Freight Traffic - there are only 2 lanes of Motorway on your Journey - You will hit numerous Motorway Roadworks that will flow but your speed will again be restricted. I often do the Journey you are doing in reverse (Prague to Calais) in daytime and recon Prauge to Calias is acheived in about 10.5hrs with just fuel stops and a quick lunch time stop. In Germany where allowed and traffic permitting I seldom drop below 100mph and do go up to about 110/120 with all limits adherred to in the other countries and Germany - there are too many speed traps John

Great day - great company - thanks for organising - dealership visit was great thanks to Clist and Rattle seem a very worthy dealership the welcome was appreciated and I am sure its why the locals all seem to buy Skoda's we saw so many driving past the dealers whilst we were there. John

Did they remove the screen and seal? I had mine sealed by autoglass - screen removed, applied sealant and refited - no further problem. -

Here's pics I took in CZ, my wife had a test drive in a 1.2 and loved it - its quite roomy inside for back seat passengers and the quality of the interior is pretty good - had a tour of the factory just over a week ago when they have just started producing the pamoramic roof version for the none home cz market -
It is just over an hours drive however the speed limit on most of the transit route around Prague is 80km the traffic is heavy and slow.

You will enjoy it the last bit of German Autobahn after Nurnburg to CZ is the best bit great twisty unlimited motorway with great scenery thats relativley quiet so both lanes can be utilised - better than any track day in my opinion

Calias to Prague is about 690 miles according to autoroute
-
Where is 550 miles to? - its about 730 miles from Calais to Mlada Boleslav according to autoroute

Its a sticker that must be affixed in the the windscreen a 14day one is 200kc IIRC about £5. Its start date is marked on purcase and when fixed to winscreen is not removable without damaging it - the car registration must be written on the sticker and counterfoil. Its not transferrable between cars
