They are definitely not 255 50 17 as standard. Try 225 50 17 😀 also, search on here there is a good thread with all the options on tyre sizes, wheel specs etc.
  2. 1) Not really. We've owned a few TSi and a few TDi Yetis. One TSi had an oil leak at fairly low mi les, fixed under warranty. Listen for timing gear noise at idle if higher miles. If DSG, the mechatronic can fail. 2) As with previous comments, the pre facelift 140 and 170 (a few made it to the facelift) were both good engines, with no adBlue required. The 150 is a bit more economical, but has adblue. I liked the 170 for performance, but the 140 and 150 are both good and you can have 4wd to use all the power.
  3. Get a set of small Torx screwdrivers for the fiddly screws. If you are systematic it's easy. Also, make sure that the SD card reader is seated correctly in the PCB before putting everything back together.
  4. I hadn't thought about 55 profile... You have reminded me though that the worst riding car I've ever had was also on 40 profile 19s. It was a Tiguan 2.0 TSi R line 210 DSG on 255 40 19. No suspension travel, rock hard all the time. Hated it. Also, the gearbox and engine were really badly matched. Holding onto gears too long or dropping down a gear or two when not needed. Great on paper, crap on the road ! Back to 55 profile - any recommendations ?
  5. Sticking with 17 inch wheels, any other All Season recommendations ? We had an hour's drive on a particularly dreadful cross country road yesterday. The car was rocking, banging and crashing - stiff necks and shoulders for the two of us. The suspension is fine and I normally run 32 psi. The front 2 Cross Climates are getting worn on the outer edges now, so I'm hoping two (soft?) New tyres will help.
  6. Definitely worth a go with a professional cleaner (rather than a random bloke with a pressure washer/ blaster) - read people's reviews first. Also, I know it's more money, but you could also get the fix reversed / mapped out.
  7. I had one as well (2.5 XteN version) but it had the slower auto box. Drove well but my 2.0 Turbo PPP Impreza wagon is still borderline hilarious when I let it out on a dry day 😉
  8. Positives :- One of the great do it all, everyday cars. Everything feels solid and arguably more premium than some luxury offerings today. The disparity in quality is eye opening. Everything from the brakes, steering, gearshift feel superior. A sturdy feeling underpins it all. Build quality, NVH, and calibration of controls are leagues ahead. It is very clear to see why it ended up with the reputation it did. Kind words from a performance / enthusiast orientated car mag !
  9. Interesting comparison of the Duster 130 4x4 with a Yeti (ok the blue 1.8 tsi heritage fleet car). Lots of positive reflections on the Yeti. £6.50 or flick to page 124 for a cheeky browse in a local newsagent near you 😀
  10. Don't forget that they also used to do a very dark green (like BRG) as well. I saw one earlier this year - I think it was on a 60 or 61 plate.
  11. Mine was registered 31/12/17 but delivered Feb 2018 so I just missed out on the 2018 bucket! it's a shame they don't break it down into models like Howmanyleft do.
  12. I'm not sure if this will work on these d clips, but on the 'regular headlight ones ' which can be a pain, I put a narrow screwdriver into the body between the two bits that separate, rather than the tab part. I then find that eases the two parts apart without breaking the tab/clip ..?
  13. Our local (small) Vauxhall dealer has just taken in a late model Yeti and has it on their forecourt for £11995. I was trying to work out what someone would have traded in for ? Probably a Mokka electric? Bet they will regret it !
  14. I bought a second-hand unit off eBay for our last Yeti but it still wasn't brilliant. Easy to replace though.
  15. There was an early Skoda Favorit there this time and plenty of rare / interesting stuff that was great to spot. I like the randomness of it all.
  16. No. It's a good mixture of cars you don't see very often. Even my tidy but hardly a show car year 2000 UK Impreza wagon was the only one there, and it's ages since I last saw another one. There were more Sinclair C5s than any other model. I liked a very tatty Austin Ambassador for its braveness. You might be surprised.
  17. For those that don't know, it's the classic car show dedicated to the 80s and 90s, and now up to and including to the year 2000. The Yeti is 9 years off, but I'm sure it will be represented by some immaculate pre facelift ones in years to come. It will deserve to be. I took my original Impreza Turbo , and my favourite cars were an Alfetta GTV6, a Citroen CX GTI Turbo, a Toyota Tercel 4WD Estate and a mk1 Honda Accord Aerodeck with the 4WALB badge. Plenty of reminiscing and everyone in good spirits, without the clickiness you get at some car club shows. Recommended !
  18. Yes, I totally understand 're services coming back in house and centrally, after years of being outsourced. That was my time to leave. Purchasing over pragmatism.
  19. Glad it's at least behaving ok at the moment. I should have suggested the MAF when I mentioned the Impreza's O2 sensor, as I only cleaned the MAF in May. Unlike your Yeti it had a 'bouncing throttle ' where the needle would rev up to 3000rpm at idle ! I've never had to clean a Yeti one - is it easy ?
  20. The only dodgy injectors I've had to replace before were noticeable (jerky) under full load or high revs when they couldn't supply the right amount of fuel. An old Subaru turbo I had would 'not go up hills' until warmed up, in a similar way to yours, but that was ignition timing / fueling even though I replaced the 02 / lamda sensors. You could also try filling with good fuel, puts some Millers Power Ecomax in and leaving it in lower gears for a day. May not make a blind bit of difference...

Just keep it serviced and it's worth paying Skoda to enable the SmartLink in your head unit if it's not been done or you don't have nav.

I think it was the Amundsen 2, but our 2017 SEL has the same format Bolero and we just had the SmartLink enabled at Skoda for £180 for Android Auto / Apple CarPlay / Google map satnav.
