  1. Drove my Mk3 to the car wash (Karcher) today (only a quick coarse cleaning instead of a fine detailing). I was quite happy to get its original Moon white color back. 'cause of bad rainy weather, many miles and a lack of time these last weeks, it had slowly turned into mucky 'beige-ish'...
  2. I sincerely believe you. I had a 'Metal Black' Audi A3 Sportback Mk2 15 years ago... No black/dark car anymore, ever! It's so disappointing to spend hours making an intensive clean and then discover it's full of swirls once it catches a sun beam... 😱
  3. It's the wrong thread. It ain't "The Superb III picture thread"... 😁 BTW Nice job!
  4. Hi, I bought one for my Superb Mk3 from kopacek.com (a stainless steel version) They propose similar protections for Kodiaq too (glossy black, brushed aluminium, stainless steel, etc.). Unfortunately, I fear it has become less interesting since Brexit. You'll probably have to pay increased taxes since this website is based in Czech Republic Just have a look on this website and simulate a purchase of this protection, to have an idea... 🤷‍♂️
  5. Good to know! Thanks for sharing this.
  6. Hi, I may be wrong, but I don't think it comes from your Superb, 'cause most of the screws of this size are Torx type in the VAG world.
  7. I've specced 2022 or later and 60000km as a maximum. Very easy to find TDI150 on the french market. TDI190 or TDI200 becomes a bit more tricky. But once you spec 4WD... Errrr I've only got 2 alerts in 5 months. 😬 They were both sold before I could ring the seller... 🙄 Otherwise I have to import one from Germany (mainly). But It means equipments or options may be quite different and I will have to pay eco taxes that have not been paid in France when it was sold new... There's only a 10% 'bargain' per year. This way, I may lose the benefit of buying a german Kodiaq a bit cheaper due to all these retroactive taxes...
  8. Thanks for reminding this.
  9. Same as many above: - Incorrect camber - Driven underinflated on long distance seem possible explanations. I would add 2 other ones: - Inappropriate toe out - Bad manufacturing batch with a defect on the thread.
  10. Congrats' I'll follow your thread and your feedbacks, since I'm considering quite the same swap on my side: Superb Mk3 Estate L&K TDI190 4x4 DSG6 to a Kodiaq I FL L&K (or Sportline) TDI200 4x4 DSG7 within the next months. The hardest will be to find one. It's very rare on the french used car market.
  11. I also have a roof box, which I only use for winter sports trips. It leads to lose 3.5-5.0 ish mpg when I drive at 130km/h on our french motorways. Don't forget, that iV version already faces higher gasoline consumption on long trips when the battery is empty (around 37-38 mpg AFAIK). Using a roof box will amplify this point. Considering that the boot is smaller on iV version, I would suggest a different approach if this Superb Estate is going to be your second car and mainly used for long trips as you told us: Why not chosing a TDI150? It sips like a camel (over 47-50 mpg is not rare with this engine) and you would enjoy the full size 630l-boot!
  12. Hi, I have a Superb Estate (diesel engine though) with 3 kids from 8 to 13 y.o. The boot is 630l (under luggage cover) it's highly enough for us. I don't know how much space the boot of an iV version is smaller compared to mine, but if you're used to an Audi A4, you'll find the boot bigger for sure! Thus the boot size of an iV version should not be a 'NoGo' for you.
  13. I have the same analysis. 👍
  14. Hi, Do you mean this kind of old haunted castled creaking door sound? I've this too for 2 weeks. MY18 TDI190 / 131000km in the clock... Not tried to fix it yet...
  15. Hi, You didn't tell us how many miles your Mk3 has on the clock. Has your water pump ever been replaced?
  16. Hi, Have a look on ifinterface.com Welcome > Free services > CarProg2. Then use drop down menus. Your switch should be in "Chapter 9 - Electrical component" It may be 3V0927225B... Check with your own car.
  17. Well, I fear you can still hope for a while... BCM being able to do so means a specific software function for that, which consequently would require development and validation tests, to be sure it makes reliable diagnosis w/o being fooled by a simple manufacturing dispersion, for instance. This means ££££ ! Having a simple logic that checks if the P/N number has changed is a "2-line code". No development, no test, almost no £££. Done... Additionally, there's a way to set the autonomy value (how many Ah) to get a reliable power management and charging phases. If ones install a "bigger" battery with a higher Ah value w/o adjusting this parameter, it's just money spillage, because this battery won't be charged at its full capacity, only at the original battery capacity as a maximum. This may help:
  18. AFAIK, it's Every 210000km w/o time limit. The required tools, are quite standard tools for dry belts.
  19. A friend of mine had some odd behavior with side mirrors with a MY18 Superb Mk3. For instance, passenger mirror was moving up/down while joystick was being pushed down/up. It even moved the passenger mirror when trying to set the driver mirror. Once the battery had been replaced everything came back to normal...
  20. 8 years is a very good duration. I don't know if your car "sleeps" in a garage, but it helps a lot in winter... My Mk3 sleeps outside and I changed it preventively after 6 years, just before winter...
  21. So, it works now?
  22. This is one of the two main (basic) solutions with electronic systems: 1. Check the cable 2. Reboot the system 😄
  23. Hi, Protection of the rear bumper as this one: https://www.kopacek.com/fr/skoda/superb-iii/superb-iii-combi-rear-bumper-protective-panel-from-martinek-auto-design-vv-basic or this one: https://www.kopacek.com/fr/skoda/superb-iii/superb-iii-combi-rear-bumper-protective-panel-from-martinek-auto-glossy-black Mud flaps? Quite useful on a white Estate. In addition to picture thread, you could have a look to VCDS modification list:
  24. They should, I guess. First thing would be to cross-check OEM references.
  25. I fixed the problem by 90-95% with marine grease applied on the sway bar bushes. It roughly as per TPI, which recommends to apply grease AFAIK. This lasts almost 1 year / 20000 km for me. I do it at the end of Fall, when I switch to winter wheels.
