Fixing C Pillar / boot trim on estate (combi)
Hi, I would remove uninstall the dog guard and fold the rear seat backrest to get more room and try to pass a nylon strap thru the black grill (as close as possible to the C pilar. Then install something higher than the grill to use it as a lever (rod / bar). once lever is fixed, route the strap above this lever and pull it downwards so that it pulls the grill upside. Because I don't think you'll get enough room, if you try to push it upwards from the inside. Unless boot side panels are different parts form these grills... I hope I'm clear enough...

Multiple DTC on driver assistance systems.
I had thought to SEU indeed, but it didn't last longer than few seconds, for at least 2 reasons explained in the link above: - My Mk3 never drove higher than 6000ft 😁and is thus significantly less exposed to radiations than a commercial engine. Usually, it spends most of the time around 300ft. - I don't think the '3C Lane assist" Control Unit deserves as powerful and tiny processors as a smartphone or a router farm. Therefore it should be less sensitive to this kind of risk. But who knows...

Multiple DTC on driver assistance systems.
Problem fixed by my dealer today. I was given a brief description of the diagnosis on the phone. It needed a complete SW reprogramming / flashing on the '3C - Lane assit' Control Unit. No HW issue, and another €120 bill. I thus assume they needed roughly 1h labour work. It was too late for me to get it back this evening. I'll pick it up tomorrow morning and ask for more details and especially why / how can a controller suddenly lose its coding. This is the main point I'd like to understand, to see if it can be avoided or if it may happen again without any 'warning sign'.

Handbrake when shifting to position P
Yes, exactly. very satisfied since set to "early".

Handbrake when shifting to position P
Is this because the brake doesn't release smoothly when you want to restart and gives you the impression that brake pads are stuck? If yes, this can be adjusted with VCDS, with an "early brake release" instead of "normal". I've done this mod on mine. It really changes the car behavior at trafic lights or stop signs. Otherwise, sorry, I don't have the solution for you to activate handbrake automatically when gear lever is in P position. 😐

Playing Snap at Eurotunnel with Andorran 280
This crazy tax can reach up to €60000 for any car whose CO2 emissions exceed 194g/km. Just to give you an idea: The New Mk4 with TDI193 in 4x4 and L&K version is 'granted' a €3800 tax for CO2 emissions with its 158g/km (+ €1100 compared to the 2023 tax for the same CO2 emission level). The New Kodiaq Mk2 (with same engine, transmission and trim version) is granted a €7250 tax with its 168g/km (+ €2100 compared to the 2023 tax for the same CO2 emission level). Non speaking about the weight tax (€10 per kg for cars exceeding 1600kg and +€15 per kg from 1800kg, +€20€ per kg from 1900kg, +€25 per kg from 2000kg and +30€ per kg above 2100kg). E.g.: A car weighing 1850kg means 100x10 + 100x15 + 50x20 = €3500 as extra weight tax. 😡 "Luckily", the total amount of these 2 taxes cannot exceed €60000... Note: All PHEVs will also have to face this weight tax from 1st jan. 2025 (with a 200kg 'discount'). All good, as if PHEV batteries were light as feathers... French government, will soon complain that the french car fleet is old, produces too much CO2 emissions and becomes less safe... Politicians decisions... 🙄 Enjoy your TSI280! Lucky you! 😉

Playing Snap at Eurotunnel with Andorran 280
The TSI280 has become almost as rare in France as unicorns, due to the massive CO2 emissions taxes since 2018 (around 50% of the list price 🤯 🤑 😤 if new). And even if you think of importing a second hand one from another EU country (mostly Germany, Luxembourg, Italy or even Switzerland), this tax is still due with a slight reduction depending on the age of the car.

Superb Rear Park Pilot
I never faced that with mine. Did you try at slower speed? As explained above, this doesn't activate under a certain threshold value.

Handbrake when shifting to position P
Hi, Errr... Maybe I don't understand what you're expecting, but it sounds like what you're asking is more or less Autohold function. 🤷♂️ With Autohold ON, handbrake automatically activates upon engine switch off if gear lever is in P position.

Front Grille Light Bar - done
Great ! I assume it meets your expectations. It was worth doing it.

Front Grille Light Bar - done
I was saying to myself few days ago... I'm curious to see if @JR RS has finished his project of front grill ligh bar. 🤔 Now I know... 😁 Nice job! Just curious: Did you simply paste the coding of your DRL to this additional LEDs? Does it dim when directionnal blinkers are on too? Also interested in seeing night pics. 🙂 Do you know if this is feasible on a Kodiaq Mk1 too? A friend of mine asked me 1 week ago or so. Another retrofit on @ApertureS 'To do list' 😁

Superb Rear Park Pilot
Hi, The automatic brake in reverse to avoid hitting something only works in a certain range of speed. To slow, or to fast, it does brake. As far as I can remember, it works between 5 and 15 km/h. But not 100% sure of these figures. I let our experts confirm. I had seen this on a Youtube Video with a VW Passat (if I remember well), but I can't find it back. 😐

Multiple DTC on driver assistance systems.
Yes, I have made correct coding upon battery replacement.

Multiple DTC on driver assistance systems.
I don’t think so. I changed it during last Fall and I installed a bigger one (70Ah - 760A).

Multiple DTC on driver assistance systems.
Hi, Strange thing noticed today. Since I had to unplug the battery to access the gearbox oil filter for the DSG6 service, it looks like it rebooted some controllers when I plugged the battery back. I then erased all DTC and curiously those related to 3C controller did not pop up again. I was even able to tick both boxes to activate Blind Spot Detection and Rear Trafic Alert 😃. But this happiness only lasted 2mn. 2 alarms dingged indicating Blind Spot Detection & RTA were unavailable. 🙄😐 Appointment booked soon by my dealer, I just hope he will fix it easily.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
DSG6 service + Service Reminder Information reset done. BTW, I´ve feared for almost 2 hours I could not finish DSG service nor reset SRI. Indeed, when I was about to plug my VCDS to check DSG oil temperature I discovered I had forgotten my laptop battery charger at home (while on holiday by my parents 600km away from home). Went to 3 PC & Laptop stores. But no one had any compatible battery charger. Fortunaly a small PC maintenance & repair shop 800 from parents home had one he could lend me! 😮💨 Saved!…

Protective film for the rear bumper
Hi, It should be this one: https://www.kopacek.com/fr/skoda/superb-iii/superb-iii-combi-massive-stainless-steel-rear-bumper-protective-panel-original-skoda-autoas I bought mine already several years ago…

Options for fixing rear diff / haldex
Bearing replaced in the Haldex itself, or in the rear differential?
-
Protective film for the rear bumper
I agree. This is why I've chose the Kopacek one, which does cover the lip actually.

DSG gearbox oil replacement
There's no timing or mileage link between DSG and Haldex service. DSG : every 40 or 80000 miles depending on which DSG model Haldex : every 3 years without mileage limit (though I think it should be the contrary). I've changed my DSG oil in 2021 (see my "How to guide", quoted above) and I'm about to do it next week again (120000 km on the clock). The DSG oil kit (incl filters ands seal washers) was almost at the same price around €105 (less than €10 difference between both in 3 years).

Protective film for the rear bumper
Sorry, I can’t answer about plastic film. I´ve chosen stainless steel version for my Estate version (also from Kopacek.com). It goes well with L&K trim.
