VCDS options on Superb III
When doing mods, there's only one to chose, all others meaning more or less 'ŠKoda Kaputt' otherwise... 🤭😂

VCDS options on Superb III
Interesting as a ‘last chance ´ solution. It’s always stressing to make a mod, notice it doesn’t work, and suddenly realize: Gosh, how do I get back to the original coding?!? I didn’t save it! 😱 You feel so lonely and start having cold sweat 😰(especially if it’s a major control unit). I would feel less stressed having the original code directly available than having to use an external tool. Just a personal point view. Prevention is better than cure… 😉

VCDS options on Superb III
If one doesn't forget to save the original code before any mod'! So many made a mess have been stuck because they didn't take 30s to save the original code. 😜

DIY service after warranty
Sorry I haven't been needing to at this time. Only 77000 km on the clock and 95% done on motorways and 80% done alone. Absorbers and springs are far from being worn out.

DIY service after warranty
My TDI190 DSG6 4x4 is now out of warranty for 2,5 years. I've been doing all services by myself and it drives normally. - Engine oil replacement - Filters replacement (air / cabin / fuel) - Haldex oil remplacement - DSG6 oil replacement - Brake fluid replacement I take the time I need, and I know how it has been done and additionally I can check if everything is OK in engine bay. I like it like that.

Brake pads thickness when new. 2.0tsi hatch 190 sportline 2020
Note: With such a thickness value, it probably includes the backing plate, though not explicitly written.

VCDS options on Superb III
I don't think both of your request can be easily feasible... To reduce the wear of the mirror motors, I disable the function in winter to prevent the motor making too much effort because of ice or frost. Very simple, only a box to untick in "Car" Menu from the Columbus.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
2nd brake fluid replacement done today without any trouble, thanks to an excellent "how to guide" available on this forum... 😄

Characteristics of tdi engine...
If it drove 20000 miles on short journeys, the EGR valve may be almost clogged. If you drive it now more "generously" form then, it may breathe a bit better and may seem a bit responsive now.

Brake wear sensors
Hi, According to maintenance manual, chapter 5.1, p124-125 (to be downloaded from cardiagn.com), the wear limit is 7mm thickness (incl. backing plate) for front pads and 7.6mm for rear pads. I assume the warning lights on roughly at the same time. Note: The backing plate is approximately 3mm thick (may be a bit less). Thus, once the warning is ON you should still have some thousands miles left to have your pads changed.

"No sensor view" error and loss of blindspot/rear traffic
I did lose these both functions too. This was 1 or 2 years ago. But for me, both systems had lost their control unit coding 😳. Fortunately I own a VCDS and I was able to set the original code back. From then, it didn't occur again.

Another broken windscreen!
Maybe you're going thru a "black serie" 🤔 or... driving to close to the car ahead...😜

Is this the factory fitted towbar?
True! When trailer is plugged, it also disables: - Rear fog lights - Blind spot detection - Rear Trafic Assist and enables: - Anti-sway mode on ESP - Trailer assist to ease parking maneuvers - ... I may forget some other special features related to OEM Tow bar.

Remap of my 2017 Skoda 190 4x4 DSG- My thoughts
Is it possible to do the same with VCDS?

Coolant loss w/ difficult startup
I hope for you your dealer will perform a 'simple' leak test or pressure test instead of simply replacing your intercooler without knowing if it's the real root cause. It's one of the fundamentals of trouble shooting. Otherwise he may change a lot of parts and it will cost you way too much! I cross my fingers for you. 🤞

Rear caliper torque settings
You're welcome! I hope it helps.

Rear caliper torque settings
Hi, According to Brake System manual for Suerb Mk3 (to be downloaded from cardiagn.com for free ), you should find the tightening torques either in chapter 46 - Brakes- mechanism / section "2.1 Assembly overview - rear brakes” (page 47) or in chapter 47 - Brakes - hydraulics / section “2.1 Assembly overview - rear brake caliper”, (page 74).

Weird warning
It may be a door / bonnet / boot sensor having a bad contact/connection and generating a warning message as if one door / the bonnet / the boot was open. Vibrations may open the circuit at this bad contact location and close it almost immediately. This could explain warning message (with overhead view) vanishing instantaneously as if the door / bonnet / boot had been closed meanwhile. Note: I'm not sure, just making hypothesis. 🤔 Checking for fault code with VCDS should confirm if there's a sensor with bad contact.

@ApertureS Great job, once again! Why don't you paste this in a new thread here too: Skoda Superb Guides - BRISKODA It may help a lot of Superb 3 owners...

Coolant loss w/ difficult startup
Hmm I fear it could really be head gasket.🤔 If head gasket is damaged, coolant leaks into one of the cylinders and then progressively fills it which makes starts become difficult. Indeed since liquids are incompressible coolant here acts as a kind of mechanical stopper on the piston. If the engine finally starts it will start smoking (rather white-greyish smoke, smelling somehow like 'missed' caramel), meaning the coolant in the cylinder is being burnt. Sorry for this bad news... I hope for you I am wrong. Dealing with the EGR cooler hypothesis, It could explain the leak: coolant would then flow into combustion chamber thru admission hoses. It could also explain difficult starts and smoke at exhaust (for same reasons as above). But this option should be less expensive than head gasket. Anyway, 0.5 to 1.0l every week is really important! It's hard to believe the dealer didn't knew about this... With such a leak, I assume he sooner or later also faced difficult starts, even if he simply moved the car in his parking lot. Hope the less expensive for you!

Power Window: Goes up and then it winds back down to 1/3rd
You’re right. But in such a case this would happen whatever the window has been actuated from driver or passenger button, I guess.
