  1. You're right. Since the glove box and the box under the front arm rest have air-conditionning I had expected I could get some ice-cubes when I put a small bottle or a can in there, but I have no "sorry, ice-cube function temporarily unavailable" message on the cockpit... Is this normal? OK. sorry... Just kidding
  2. Great pic. I like this kind of pics with long pause time. 👍
  3. As promised, here is a series of pics to illustrate the result of my 2-day detailing job these last days... After a quick clean to get rid of suicidal mosquitoes during a 800km drive... Overview of water-repellent effect of sealant Little mop yesterday This morning at work And the nicest (at least to me) this evening, on a sport shop car park Night pics are quite rare on this thread...
  4. @Donweather As always, this is a hard thing to prove. No significant evidence of dealer's responsibility. When I left my car, it was not perfectly clean and I had not imagined I could get my car back covered with swirled. Thus I did not take any picture when I left it. So they could easily say swirls were there before and hidden by the thin layer of dirt. (I can also admit there are some rogue and sly customers who intend to get things fixed by the dealer, though they were perfectly aware of an issue before going to the dealer). Anyway it was 4 years ago... @UndertheRadar Awesome work and result !!! I wish I could get the same. But I have to say I've waited for at least 4 years to find the time to do it!!! Spending 2 days to get this result is already huge for me. I would dream of having of complete free week for that... But I don't have it As promised pics of the overall result are available here:
  5. @Colin170CRI had planned to use Menzerna 1500 to 3500 (I had bought a 1500/2500/300/3500 pack on a french detailing website) depending on the deepness of swirls, but.. I had forgotten them home... 🙃 Then I used my father's products: Meguyars' #83 Besides I used a Hex-logic white pad (heavy cut) from Chemical guys on my DA. The clear coat is very hard or... Meguyars' #83 and/or my pad not abrasive enough... or swirls very deep. As written above, I've removed only 70-80% of micro-scratches 🤔 But don't be fooled by my pics, the resolution is quite poor, there are still some swirls. I should take better pics of the results. But thanks anyway for the feedback.
  6. As promised, some pics of my detailing job these lasts days: The glossy black door covers, always very scratch sensitive: Before: After: Top part of the passenger door (it's a LHD ): Before: After: Not very easy to "catch" the swirls with a camera... But these 2 examples are very representative of the improvement. Other pics with complete view coming soon...
  7. Don’t forget that ‘flashy’ color on brake calipers means regular brake washing, otherwise IMHO it looks even dirtier than original unpainted calipers.
  8. Sorry, I don’t catch you. I’m not a native english speaker. 🥴
  9. That’s true. I thought I could remove a scratch made with a magnet on our previous fridge, using some polish. But since it has no clear coat, I didn’t remove anything even after 20mn hand polishing. It stayed with its scratch for years. @Colin170CR If you want to make some tests and get experienced, simply go to a car scrapyard, find a bonnet or a door with faded paint and just try. It’ll be much more efficient and time saving for you.
  10. Black without sticker would be ok too…
  11. Sorry ? No! It’s a very good pratice to use ‘search’ function instead of starting a nth thread on the same subject. 😉 👍
  12. For 19 in. wheels, tyres size is 235/40/19. It’s a bit harder than 17 in. wheels but mine is DCC equiped. This may be a bias for comparison. Note: Depending on your engine, it may be wiser to chose 18 in rather 19 to minimize the rotating mass increase. Otherwise you may have the impression that your engine has lost power.
  13. @numskull Yes, it’s a Dual Action polisher with a 5 in. backing plate. You´re absolutely right, regarding experience. Indeed, I had chosen a DA polisher since the random orbital movement is much more ´beginner-friendly’ so to say. Of course for my first time, it’s not like a professional detailer result, but I’m quite satisfied with the final result 🙂Only things I did not really recover are the roof bars: ´milky’ stains only 20-30% reduced 😐. Pics coming soon.
  14. All the same for me... Sometimes I spray some silicon lubricant when I change engine oil or swap summer / winter tyres.
  15. Spent more than 4 hours to polish the bonnet and the left side (only) using an orbital polisher (sorry if it's a bad tanslation)... I've managed to remove 70-80% of swirls / light scratches. The varnish is really hard 😮... or scratches aren't that light 🤔... Anyway, I don't know how dirty their microfibers are, but it's a big job to remove absolutely all scratches. Note: This is my first time using an electric polisher. Not unhappy with the result. To be continued...
  16. This video on a Superb Mk2 shows it is possible to replace the bushings without removing the sway bar (on rear axle): Sad, if it can't be done the same way on Mk3...
  17. One can always improve oneself… 😉
  18. Spent 8h to make a deep clean of the bodywork. Ouch, it was really neccessary 😯. Tomorrow, I´ll attempt to remove swirls caused by my local dealer. They systematically clean cars when you let it for overhaul, unless you clearly say you don’t want it. I forgot twice to tell them « No car wash » and now my car is covered with swirls… 😬 Pics coming soon.
  19. Most of them don’t care about this tool. They just use a flat screw driver as a lever and make awful scratches on the screw wells
  20. However for some months the Lock / Unlock buttons appeared on my screen for less than 1s and were immediately hidden by the lock / unlock + close / open status display… Strange 🤔 Now I don’t see them anymore…
  21. I´ve been looking closer at the App and it states « Lock & unlock is available for vehicle manufactured after Nov. 2018. Mine has been built in Nov. 2017. 😐 Good point for @sneal !
  22. Not a stupid question. I´m the driver #1 in the menu. The thing is, I don’t know what the dealer exactly set. Additionally, which particular fields shall I tune in the App? Any advice much appreciated.
  23. Since this is not a full time 4x4, it’s not an issue to change only 2 tyres. Note: Skoda recommands to use snow chains only on the front axle, even on 4x4 version! Not an issue at all for the Haldex then. But if you want to replace only the front tyres, have the your rear tyres swapped to the front axle and have the new tyres set on the rear axle. It will avoid oversteering.
  24. It never worked for me. Driver licence registered and everything checked by my dealer, but it still doesn’t work though nearly 5 years of ownership. I have the doors status (closed / locked) on the App display, but I don’t get the two buttons « open » / « close » in the App. 😐 Currently using an iPhone SE 2022 and iOs 15.6 Any advice? Thanks.
  25. Actually, I haven't. Since... I don't have any memory module installed... 😁 I was just trying to remind what I had read here and there... Thanks for clarifying, this may be very useful for other Mk3 owners...
