  1. 45-50 mpg on a long motorway run, more if I stick to 70. Ride is very comfortable.
  2. I went the other way, was getting so annoyed with the Octavia so went back to a Superb and don't regret it. At least EVERYTHING works as it should in the Superb, I also disagree that the Superb is a huge step backwards. The infotainment system in the Superb is better, faster and easier to use.
  3. I got Β£2.5K more than what I paid for mine. It's not very often that you don't lose a ton of money when trading a car in!
  4. My phone (Pixel 5) does get slightly warm but it's been fine as it's not exactly fast charging as it would with a wired charger. BUT... the arm rest box is chilled via the air con so win win πŸ˜€ I'm sure that's what it was designed for πŸ€”
  5. Put a wireless charger in your arm rest box, that way it keeps the battery charged when using wireless AA. I didn't realise at first how badly the battery drains when using AA.
  6. They seem to be averaging Β£1200 from the places I enquired with.
  7. It's USB A to USB C, but I wasn't sure if the Octy even has power in the arm rest/jumbo box thingy.
  8. I've done this in my Superb....
  9. Just thought I'd share this as I was looking for a solution to the phone battery draining when using Android Auto, and not wanting to have to plug the phone in via a USB cable to keep it charged. Simple but effective!
  10. Have you tried using Android Auto?? I didn't even realise mine had it until I tried it!
  11. ExFAT is the correct format. You must have a duff SD card or it isn't actually formatting correctly.
  12. Thanks! Tried it with some MP3 and FLAC audio and it works perfectly. It's nice that the USB stick is hidden under the arm rest.
  13. Can this be used to store/play music via a USB memory stick?? And if so does it need to be formatted in a particular way?
  14. If it's anything like the MK4 vRS ECU then it's not been cracked yet.
  15. I also got rid of mine. Got sick of the dealer telling me that there are no updates available for the infotainment, blatantly lying when the evidence is readily available!! Speaking of Japanese, I had a current model Civic and the infotainment in that was even worse - if that's even possible!
  16. My spare fob used a battery in the same time as my daily fob even though it had never been used. So just replaced both at the same time.
  17. I finally got around to getting rid of mine whilst it's still worth a decent amount of money. Got 3K more than what I paid for it. I'm now the VERY HAPPY owner of a new Superb Sportline 2.0 TSI DSG. I don't miss the Octavia one bit to be honest. In the Superb EVERYTHING works
  18. All I've done is enjoy driving mine!!! I got rid of my MK4 vRS and I couldn't be happier with my new Superb!! I love it!
  19. For that Β£570/month is that just a lease? or do you keep the car at the end?
  20. My battery warning was on for a month before I replaced the battery, so no it can't run out 'immediately' and leave you stranded - unless you've got a defective fob?
  21. I don't think so otherwise I would have had one fitted by now. The MK4 exhausts are a pain to get hold of, if you want a brand like Remus, Milltek, Scorpion etc. I tried my local VW performance specialist to see what they could do, they stated that the Milltek exhaust was showing as in stock but then after that they never got back to me about lead times/prices/fitting etc.. So not going to bother with them if that's how they treat potential customers. https://www.northeastautotech.com/
  22. If the Golf is requiring an update/replacement then surely the Octavia must be in the same boat? That's how I see it!
  23. Golf hardware and software upgrade
  24. Airbags won't necessarily be activated in all cases. What if you are sat in traffic or at a junction, have a heart attack or a stroke and nobody can get into the car to help?? Just saying!! Maybe I'm overthinking this, and hoping I don't have a heart attack in the carπŸ€”
