  1. Your understanding is spot on. Like you, I wasn't aware of the coasting feature before buying my present Karoq. My previous Karoq DSG did not have this function. I suppose it must save a little fuel - you still use the same amount uphill but a little less downhill, at the expense of a small increase in use of the brake disc pad wear due to having no engine braking. Occasionally I think I am travelling too fast towards slow moving traffic. On reflection I can give it grudging approval if it uses a little less fossil fuel. I do not have adaptive cruise control so cannot comment on that.
  2. Are you enjoying the car? Do you like the colour?
  3. I assumed I would occasionally be removing the VarioFlex seats for different reasons. In 6 years of Karoq ownership I have only removed them about twice I think. And they are very heavy! I would never have included them as an option if they were not already in the SE-L spec.
  4. Im back!! Good news for me (and everyone else). I had left the map lights on, and as been stated correctly, the lights go off by locking the car, coming back on when the car is next used. So yes, on this occasion, Clever Skoda. If it had not been getting light when parking up at the airport, unpacking suitcases in torrential rain and wind whilst looking for a shuttle bus stop I would probably remembered to switch them off. Thank you to all that replied and commented, I did sleep soundly after this and the Fabia fired up immediately as expected!
  5. J.R. - thank you SO much!! Peace of mind, I can sleep soundly again! Very much appreciated!
  6. That would be great, thank you!! One of those one offs - using something for a first time and when it cannot be rectified until too late!
  7. Hi, we used the two map lights in our 2015 Fabia for the first time I think, and I'm worried that I may have left the map lights on when I exited the car at an airport car park. As the car is parked for some days, I am wondering if anyone knows if the map lights go off when the car is switched off and locked up? If not the battery will be flat! Thanks!
  8. 😂 It was about a year until my wife said she didnt really like the phoenix orange, but knew I did!
  9. I think it's more rare than unpopular! I have seen very few in red. I like distinctive colours and glad to move away from the neutrals of black/white/grey.
  10. (((Shudders@Vauxhall mention)))
  11. I can see this being true, I know when the manufacturers warranty of our Fabia expired I gradually migrated the servicing to a local (easier to get to) garage. I have done the same with previous cars as they got older.
  12. Soooo pleased mine didn't have the virtual dash!!
  13. Ah ok!
  14. Would the Skoda temporary steel space saver spare wheel 215/60 R16 not be suitable for the job?
  15. My BMW 330D needed de-coking due to my low mileage. It was better suited to Police chases.... I never regretted my switch to petrol, even though I had about 10 diesels in succession and I miss the pulling power occasionally, the 1.5 petrol is nippy enough for me. The SE will not be as well specced as the SE L but that may not be a game changer.
  16. That worked for me!!!
  17. £23,500 for a 2019 Tiguan seems a good price - maybe a basic model, manual gearbox? We are unlikely to see depreciation of that level ever again! I think I loaded the price I paid for mine with heated windscreen, heated steering wheel, 5 year warranty, spare wheel, metallic paint and some other extras. Holding the 2021 price was a decent and honourable thing to do! He did well.
  18. Just to confirm.... the Nov 2019 Karoq price of 25k was the On the Road price that was paid, which includes fitted extras, delivery, car tax, VAT etc? The "sold" price of £22,500 would be the equivalent of the On the Road price? If so thats 10% depreciation in 3.5 years - quite incredible! My 2018 Karoq was £20,840 Basic Price but the on the road cost was £26,170. I lost £7,900 on the trade-in / 30% over 4.25 years which I thought was very good!
  19. Yes, I ordered using your link and it was £25 odd with the online voucher. Thank you!

Thats all interesting! My driving instructor was keen on me to use the indicators and its stuck with me. Traffic would flow better on roundabouts if others were to do the same. However im going off topic.... @Rory, do you intend to keep the Tiguan then? My wife's Fabia is also 8 years old and we are keeping that, for now.

I remember fighting the steering with a loaner Octavia. I could not find out how to turn it off. A totally unnecessary feature IMO. Hope they don't become a standard item.
