Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
maybe it's down to ££££ paid, skoda need to make money to stay in business, and when some parts are in short supply they need to prioritise, so they might be picking the most profitable deals/sales for earlier delivery. if i was in charge at skoda and was faced with a parts shortage, i'd give preference to the most profitable sales, why sell 2 cars to make say £10k profit when you can sell 1 car for £10k profit

Delivery times?
drive the deal , up until a few weeks ago had small print at the bottom of the page saying prices subject to car being delivered by a certain date which was always 3 or 4 months ahead. it was like that when i ordered and they quoted me 7 months delivery, the 3 or 4 months was always unrealistic and surely they must have known this at the time because the dealer told them 7 months [i asked how long for delivery before ordering ] personally i dont think it will be a problem as delivery times are all to pot at the moment i've noticed that drivethedeal have now altered the must be delivered by date to 30th september 2022, so now more realistic

Delivery times?
Not what you or i want to hear, but i have'nt heard anyone on here who is waiting on a diesel saying they have got there car 😂 it's seem to be all been iv and petrol engine cars that are being delivered, maybe thats because diesels are not as popular now, so less people ordering, i dont know. But i've been thinking about why some people who order later get there car earlier if your car starts to get built and they have all the parts, you would think that they would finish it, but if they dont have the parts, it gets sent out to a field somewhere along with other unfinished cars. Once it's out in the field or airfield or where ever they put them, it's likely to get surrounded by more unfinished cars, now i'm assuming that all these unfinished cars are not driveable, so to get one out from the middle is a lot of hassle, and when some parts are in short supply, why bother when they can use the parts needed to finish a car, for cars that are currently on the production line. So maybe delivery time depends on whether they already have the parts for your car when it starts to get built

you ordered through drivethedeal ? hope your right about prices being fixed 😀

Delivery times?
i'm not sure if the price you sign for is set and wont be increased, it was drivethedeal that i ordered through as well , but the contract is obviously with the dealer and what i said earlier about increases in prices is printed on there contract terms / conditions. when i ordered my superb i got a £3250 deposit contribution, which was reduced to £3000 a few weeks after i ordered, now we have skoda prices increasing by 2.5 % from today, so if they dont honour the price signed for, it's gonna add a fair bit onto the price and as you say along with the 7 months or so wait, there would be a lot of pi$$ed off people and they would end up with a lot of bad press.

Delivery times?
skoda prices are increasing from tomorrow, so worth checking the wording on the paperwork you signed. On my paperwork it says, if manufacturers prices increase between signing the contract and taking delivery , they will give you notice of the extra £££ due and if you dont want to pay it, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving notice. It then says if you fail to notify them that you wish to cancel, then the increased amount will be added to your final bill. The thing is though, it does'nt say when they will give you notice of any price increases [ it just says we will give you notice] so they could let you wait 8 months till the car arrives , then tell you, if you want the car it will be £xxx amount extra, take it or leave it 😂 But dealers would'nt do such a thing, would they 😂😂😂

that makes a lot of sense for skoda to build as many as they can if magnesium is going to be in short supply the chinese have f000ked up the whole world , i wonder if they are doing it intentionally 😒

Delivery Delays
when you ordered the end august, how long did they quote you for delivery ? i dont know how skoda orders work, but i've heard people talking about the factory accepting your order, which can be a long time after the day you sign and pay your deposit i'm assuming that the factory accepts your order first then you get a provisional build date later or maybe you get a provisional build date at the same time as they accept the order, i dont really know how it all works as ordered through a broker and not heard a thing from either broker or dealer since ordering

Ordered my Scala mid July, still no factory build week
there's more people on this forum from the uk than any other country, so always going to look like the uk is receiving more cars i doubt the % cars received is any higher in the uk than elsewhere delivery times appear to be random or pot luck, unless there are things going on that we dont know about 😀

Delivery times?
yes i've heard it said a few times about ev 's being given preference but ev 'cars can have up to 10 times more chips in them compared to ice cars other than vag getting fined because of not reducing emmisons, it does'nt make sense when chips are in short supply surely better to get 10 cars sold than just 1

Delivery times?
there must be a reason why time of ordering does'nt seem to make any real difference and price maybe one reason dealers can never be trusted, some more so than others Quick example, 8 months ago someone has managed to negotiate £8k off a vrs estate bog standard in white, buyer has no idea when the car is going to arrive, as dealer says car still waiting for build date., however the car is on a boat and will be in the uk shortly. meanwhile, someone comes into the dealers showroom flashng the cash and is willing to pay full list price for a bog standard vrs estate in white but wants it now dealers need profit to survive, and times have been hard lately as they cant source 2nd hand stuff, i'm not suggesting they are all at it , but i bet it has happened 😂

Delivery times?
i'm not so sure about the factory not knowing about prices, some dealers will buy more cars than others for example a dealer selling lots of cars through a broker, might have a stack them high and sell them cheap way of working, and that dealer has to buy his cars from skoda at an agreed price, which will surely be cheaper the more cars he buys, and the cheaper skoda sells them , the less profit 😂

Delivery times?
there seems to be no pattern to delivery times and it's all down to pot luck[ or is it ] i wonder if what you have paid for your cars or the price you agreed when ordering, makes any difference if someone has managed to negotiate a big discount, say 20% plus off list price and someone else was prepared to pay full list price who would you prioritise ?

Enyaq v Kia EV6 test
the things you've mentioned about the ev6 are only small niggly things that dont matter too much, i'm sure the enyaq will have some annoying things too the ev6 is better looking, , has more power, can cost less to buy and has a 7 year warranty why would anyone buy the enyaq

Delivery times?
if there building that many in a week, maybe they have got a delivery of chips or are expecting a delivery of chips, only a few weeks ago the factory was closed and they where talking about significant reductions of new builds until the new year

Moving from an ICE vehicle to an EV - my first 1000 miles and observations on The Good and The Bad
ev cars are still too expensive to buy /lease for most households though, even with the so called incentives , and what about the small matter of government fuel duty loses. the official figure is 58% plus vat, personally i think they will already have plans in place to re-coup this loss one things for sure, you aint getting away with it 😂

Moving from an ICE vehicle to an EV - my first 1000 miles and observations on The Good and The Bad
another thing that people dont realise with ev and you dont hear mentioned, is the batteries degrading all batteries degrade, my laptop battery, my golf trolley battery , my power tool batteries all dont last as long as they did when new. so if a new ev battery gives 200 mile range when new, after a few years that's going to drop and along with the drop in cold weather, you might be getting less than half the range of new when ev's get to an age where expensive batteries are neeeding replaced, there valve will drop like a stone

after reading through posts, dont think i could be bothered with the hassle of owning an ev, i'd rather just pay the extra costs of diesel for the sake of an easier life 😀 the days of free charging will soon be a thing of the past unless you connect to a lamp post over night 😄 no good during the day though 😂 but i suppose at this time of year with more dark hours, there's plenty free charge hours 😁 which i suppose is one good thing about an ev

Delivery times?
the way things are going with delivery times increasing every week, there must come a time when skoda will close the books and take no more orders for any of there cars 😂 maybe they are hoping or expecting a delivery of chips but if that does'nt happen, surely they dont expect buyers to wait 2 years or more for a car. even 1 year or so is too long a wait as it stops you going elsewhere during that time if another make of car or a good 2nd hand car turns up

Skoda Superb Estate - Advice Required
yes but 1/2 second is nothing, in real world driving, most acceleration is when you are already moving ie 30-50 or 50-70 and the extra torque of the diesel will wipe the floor with the petrol with the petrol engine you would be changing down a gear, the engine is then screaming it's head off and using more fuel as well.

Delivery times?
i think most dealers will not tell customers the truth about delivery times, they will tell you 6 months when they know it's likely to be nearer 12 months . they know that once you have paid your deposit and waited 6 months or so , your not going to cancel as you have probably made your mind up about the car and will wait a bit longer as cancelling = back to the end of the queue with a possible price increase as prices probably have gone up 😂😂😂 out of interest, when you ordered your car, if the dealer had told you 1 year for delivery, would you still have ordered ?

Delivery Delays
yes, superb prices have increased over the last 2 years, they went up a fair bit with the facelift but the spec also got better. discounts on new cars from brokers has also increased , which i suppose offsets the price increases along with the better equipment bmw have been doing this sort of thing for years, ie £60k list price but no one is actually paying list as cars can be had for a lot less. A lot of people would prefer a 1 year old 5 series to a new superb, especially if the price was the same, but bmw not for me, dont like the badge and the type of people who drive them 😀 plus 5 series no good for carrying anything as not a hatch, i dont think you even get folding rear seats as standard, so most year old cars unlikely to have it, as cars are usually bought/leased by penpushers in suits who never carry anything other than a briefcase and phone 😃

Delivery Delays
prices are going up across the whole vag/skoda range from 1st december 2021, it does'nt surprise me giving that everything else is going up in price i reckon this will be the 1st of a few prices increases by skoda / vag if you have to wait say 1 year plus for delivery, it's possible prices could increase 2 or 3 times while waiting i wonder if they will honour the price signed for, if prices increase that much that there's no profit to be had on the car 😂
