theres no need for a new sump plug, for good measure just wrap a bit of ptfe tape round the threads of the old plug its no wonder the landfill sites are burst at the seams 😂 put your reg into eurocarparts and you'll get a choice of filter brands ie bosch, mahle etc i find the best price for oil is ebay, you can normally get it from audi or vw main dealers advertising on ebay so you know your getting the genuine stuff

i think if you have lost nav and connect, then maybe better to stick with the original firmware 😂 my 2022 superb is on 0304 and the upgrade screen appears regularly, but i wont be touching it, skoda can fix it in a years time when it gets its first service

prices might not be falling right now, but it's gonna happen at some point

is this just for the 280 engine, what about diesels and 1.5 petrol engines

EV's have always been over priced imo, so this does'nt surprise me, like all things new, prices start off higher than they should be, then we get the inevitable correction i think we will see other manufacturers dropping prices soon 😀

At the moment ev's dont interest me enough to want to buy one, for me range needs to improve plus the list price is stiil to high, but i was thinking about this the other day, given that most people nowadays lease/ pcp etc when buying a new car, and most of these cars get handed back after 3 or 4 years etc Batteries for ev's are expensive and degrade more if not looked after, but if you know your only gonna have the car for 2 or 3 years , would you care ?, most ev drivers want the longest range they can get out of the batteries, so most of these cars will be charged to 100 % all the time which is obviously not ideal long term but as the car gets handed back in 3 years or so's time , it's someone elses problem 😂

maybe happened when the timing belt got done, heavy handed mechanics 😂 they normally disconnect the reservoir and swing it out the way with the hoses still connected, any strain on the connector might cause a crack which eventually fails xxx amount of months/ years later.

0304 is my software version i held onto the menu button like you said then i just followed the update instructions on the screen and the update message has disappeared, i've switched things off and on a few times and still no more update message, so looks like it's all fixed 😀 many thanks

I've got the same software update message coming up on mine [ 6 months old car ] it's a bit annoying having to cancel it all the time, but i cant be bothered booking it in , so unless i can do a diy update , i will just live with it for the next 18 months until it goes into the dealers for it's 1st service.

just checked the superb brochure and sel, sportline plus and l&k all come with 3 keys as standard, the se however only comes with 2 keys a 3rd key for the se is an optional extra at only £35, not sure which model you have but guessing it must be an se

do you really need another key ?, you should have got 3 keys with the car, for most people 2 keys are enough

what about the move to water based as opposed to oil, i always feel the water based gloss paint you get for painting at home ie doors, skirtings etc is softer than oil based

cars come with 3 keys nowadays, if you use one of the keys till you get the battery warning, then start using one of the other keys the other 2 keys should still have good batteries in them if they have not been used, doing it this way you could just change the 3 batteries all at once, say every 2 years or so

i dont think he has been charged the £90 fee they only charge if whatevers wrong with the car is not covered by the warranty. cant really blame them for charging if the problem was self inflicted

brsk, d id you get a warning on the dash about high consumption after coding with the voltage method ? i've never had any problems with the voltage method and i've used it on a few cars. the memory module that jr rs posted above works a treat, i had to use it on my 2022 superb because stop/start cant be coded on newer cars . if you have a right hand drive car it takes about 5 mins to fit the module but it takes a bit longer to fit on a left hand drive because the button for stop/start is on the other side of the console and the cable is too short 😂

the biggest problem with adblue systems, is the reliability not the cost of the adblue it's self, i know adblue has doubled in price but at around £2 per litre it is still relatively cheap As an example, most adblue systems have 2 nox sensors, on my caddy van one of the sensors failed at 15,000 miles but luckily just before the 3 year warranty was up, cost at vw for supply and fit of nox sensor £600 if you google adblue problems most manufacturers are having reliability issues and with the high costs to fix if out of warranty, it's no wonder that people take the cheaper option of deleting the lot 😃

you need to get a test drive in the latest tdi engine, you might get a surprise, definetly not gone downhill, in fact it's the opposite i agree they are more complex than before though, so more can go wrong, but so are petrol engines it's only 5% new diesel car sales because people are falling for all the government bull$hit

i've had vw tdi's for the last 30 years or so and the 150 tdi in my 2022 superb is the best engine i've had, i thought the 150 tdi i had in a 2018 arteon was good, but this latest engine is even better. i'm not sure what vag have done internally to the engine but it's quieter and pulls better from a standstill, i know the torque has been increased to 360nm and they call it an evo engine. TDI engines in the past always needed around 8000 - 10,000 miles before they loosened off but this latest engine feels like it is already run in straight out the box. As for town driving in a diesel, i dont find it a problem as long as you allow regens to complete, my tdi caddy only does 5000 miles a year and virtually all town driving . i use the vag dpf app to monitor things.

adblue tanks vary in size on all the skoda models, the superb has a large tank so range likely to be greater. they dont like being overfilled so you need to be careful and i believe adblue has a shelf life as well, imo adblue systems are more problematic than dpf and egr valves. there is too much to go wrong and it often does go wrong, pump, nox sensors, warning light on that will fail an mot . However, if keeping the car after the 3 year warranty is up, there's an easy fix which ensures no more adblue problems 😇

if you can hold off till end of may , they have done 20% off the last few years, so likely this year just dont waste your £££ on those ebay badges

should'nt need to disconnect, i believe there's a setting on the pedalbox , off hand i cant remember what setting it is but it's in the instruction book

Badges fitted front and rear, wasted time and money on the ebay badges, they looked alright from a distance but the curvature was all wrong so they started to lift the next day. Went with the moon white ones from superskoda this time, fit and colour are spot on 😊
