Delivery times?
i agree it might get complicated from a legal point of view but remember this is going to be an eu rule and the uk no longer in thr eu 😃
-
Delivery times?
i think you can just disconnect it 😃 if the law says it's not mandatory until 2024, then if you buy a new car registered in 2022/23 with it installed , it's not needed

Delivery times?
week 7 does'nt tally up with a delivery date of 04/03/2022, so something wrong somewhere To get delivery on/by 04/03/2022 your car would need to be built this week or be built next week at the latest, as it takes 4/5 weeks from leaving the factory to arrive at the uk dealer if it is going to be built next week, your dealer would be told by the factory this week [ usually tuesday ] and the 00 code for provisional would change to a 10 code for confirmed Skoda production code.docx

Key Battery Dead...Already?
not sure how it all works to be honest, you could be right about key still transmitting even when switched off when my car arrives, i'll be turning kessy off , we shall see how long the battery lasts
-
Key Battery Dead...Already?
yes but back then you could'nt completely turn it off, the op says he has turned it off from day 1, if it's' turned off you would think the battery would last the same length of time as a normal remote

Diesel Tuning Box
yes nowadays, new diesel car + tuning box cheaper than new petrol car, mainly because buyers have been brainwashed into believing that diesel engines are the work of the devi other reasons diesels have more torque and tuning box = even more torque, and torque is addictive 😃 mpg always better co2 usually less, so your doing your bit for the environment no cancer causing benzine from exhaust like you get with a petrol engine But some people just prefer a diesel engine

Dashcam suggestions?
on paper that looks like the perfect lead for the built in usb-c connection, as the 90 degree end would look neater, but at only 10" long i dont think that will be long enough to cross to the other side

Dealer trying it on?
in normal times you can order a new 22 plate 3 months before the 1st march and tell them it must be a 22 plate or you dont want the car and most dealers will be happy to take your order even if it means the car sits with them for a few weeks or so, as they dont want to lose the sale but in this case that's not what was agreed at time of order, so dealer is holding all the cards and know doubt all the terms and conditions will be in his favour 😂

Delivery Delays
8th february is the date your dealer gets any info from the factory for build week 7, unless provisional date is gonna change So no news at the moment might be good news for you 😀
-
Dealer trying it on?
if they are claiming the skoda finance terms and conditions say cars must be registered within a few days of arriving at dealerships ask them to show you the wording in those terms and conditions, if it's in there, there's not much you can do but take the car when it arrives. if they cant show you, then they are trying it on, probably looking to meet there end of month targets 😂

Delivery Delays
i've been told provisional build weeks are normally changed to confirmed builds, the week before, [ if it's gonna happen ] dealers are normally told on a tuesday the week before, so if your build week the 7th february , look for an email from your dealer on 1st february. let us know when your build week becomes confirmed, i'm provisional build week 9, so 3 wks behind you, it'll maybe give us all an idea if things are starting to run on time 😀

End of the line.....
i think all manufacturers inflate there list prices to give them a bit of leeway for fleet discounts and with the price of everything going up at the moment, more and more cars are falling into the £40k bracket government really needs to increase the £40k to £45k or so, or better still, scrap it and increase the free or £20/£30 road tax to £150 or thereabouts i think the op is right to refuse to buy a car over £40k, i've done the same, i ordered a superb instead of an arteon mainly for this very reason if everyone done the same there would be compounds full of unsold £40k+ cars and the government would be forced to scrap the tax, it's because people are paying it, it's still there
-
End of the line.....
the £490 tax is a government rule and applies to all makes of cars over £40k list, so not skoda's fault and the long wait for a new car is covid related so not skoda's fault either when the superb facelift came out, prices increased, but so did the discounts, so it was a false increase. brokers like carwow, drivethedeal etc used to give around 11- 12% or so discount, but now you can get 23%

Delivery Delays
i think some dealers just give you a build date to keep you from cancelling, they know they can blame the manufacturer when it does'nt happen.
-
Delivery Delays
it's never good when dealers dont keep you informed, but it's probably worse if they give you a build date and then that date gets cancelled or delayed further, you look forward to the date they give you, then you have the disappointment to deal with when it does'nt happen, i feel for people who have been given build date after build date, so maybe better with no communications

Alloy wheels - swapping OEM wheels
yes under inflating a tyre might help with comfort as sidewall will flex more, but that comes at a cost, ie increased mpg and wear on the outside & inside edges of the tyre imo better to go 17" with 55 series tyres set at standard pressures
-
Alloy wheels - swapping OEM wheels
i think i'd still go to 17" wheels if comfort is the main aim with a 225/55 x17 tyre the wheel arch gap would still be the same as the 19" wheel and as was mentioned a darker wheel might help to blend out the extra sidewall height so it's not as noticable
-
Alloy wheels - swapping OEM wheels
yes my calculations are way out 19 " 94mm sidewall height 18" 110mm 17" 123mm so 16mm difference between 19 and 18 and 29mm difference between 19 and 17

Delivery times?
Yes but is he saying the 8th October or 10th August 😀

Superb MK3 2.0Tdi possibile charge cooler failure
Looks like your dpf only has around 25 g of Ash, so there should be plenty life left in it. Problem is the regens are too often. 9g of soot after 48km (30 miles) = a regen every 130km (80 miles or so ) Even with lots of stop starts and a cold engine, ie all town driving, you should get around 180 miles before the car regens.
-
Alloy wheels - swapping OEM wheels
Dcc to complex for me, there's much that can go wrong and usually costs you more £££ to put right than standard suspension
-
Alloy wheels - swapping OEM wheels
you can drop the tyre pressure on a 19" tyre just the same as a 18" so the only real difference between the 2 tyre sizes you quoted is around 3.5mm more sidewall height on the 18" average person would'nt notice any difference to comfort level if the op is looking for comfort better to go to a 17" wheel with 55 series tyre 225/55 x 17 imo
-
Alloy wheels - swapping OEM wheels
changing to 18" wheels is unlikely to make any noticeable difference to comfort levels you said you want to get wider tyres, but even 245/45 x 18 is only about 3.5mm more profile, so next to nothing and not worth the expense even if you go to 255/45x18 that only gives you about 10mm more profile and you cant really have a 50 series profile on a 255 as that creates other problems
