Timing belt replacement Skoda superb 2016 1.6 desiol m3 it has done 23000 mms when is the time to change the belt
i've always thought it strange that the uk is the only country that timing belts have to be changed due to time [ie 5 years] i wonder why that is ? personally, i'd be more concerned about the water pump failing than the belt itself

DIY oil change advice
best to drain it properly, when your under there, you can check for other problems , ie inspect driveshaft boots etc and look for any oil leaks on engine or gearbox. if you have a good quality jack, there is no need for ramps, i've stopped using my ramps as i always feel it's easy to drive right over the back edge of them, especially with a dsg box i jack 1 wheel up 4 inches and put a pre made wooden box under the wheel, release the jack and go round to the other side and jack it up 8 inches, put the 8 inch box under the wheel, then go back round to the other side and jack up to the same 8 inches and put another pre made box under the wheel, job done for me this way works better and no ramps required.

Drive mode : bug or feature?
can you not use the individual mode ? mine always reverts back to normal, which is a pain as i'd like it to stay in sport mode

Superb iV Road Tax Bracket
i agree it's a voluntary tax, but too many people complain about it, then still buy the car anyway, if buyers refused to buy cars over £40k, it would go away. one of the reasons i bought the superb instead of the arteon was the cheaper list price so cheaper road tax, but i also i wanted a rear wiper, metallic white and a few other bits i was'nt getting with the vw.

Superb iV Road Tax Bracket
there was an online petition a year or so ago wanting people to add there signature to scrap the tax, but they never got enough signatures, so it died a death as long as people are buying cars over £40k and paying the tax, it's not going away

Sportline
a lot depends on what your used to, when i drive my sportline superb after driving my caddy van, it feels noticeably firmer, in fact i would say sometimes it feels uncomfortable. if i did'nt have the van it would probably feel ok, but because the caddy has 15" wheels and lots of suspension travel, driving anything else is always gonna feel less comfortable. i might at some point change the superbs wheels to 17", which i would imagine would make a difference.

Which fuel
the 150 tdi is much better value than the 200 tdi [ around £2500 difference] and it will probably keep you in the lower road tax as more likely to be under £40 list price the torque on the 150 engine was upped to 360nm from 340nm a while back but the 190 engine which is now a 200 tdi the torque stayed the same at 400nm, so there is less of a difference than before, i've got a 150 tdi and it is no slouch, you can even remap to around the same as the 200 engine but to be honest, it does'nt need it As for the dpf and regens, get the dpf app and use your phone to monitor the regens, if you allow the regens to finish, you wont have any problems

Outer CV joint boot
whats j & r ? with cv boots, it's best to buy the oem part, most after market cv boots dont last

Transport blocks left in
if they forgot to remove the transit blocks then it's obviously there fault, but if you complain and they dont want to know, you would need to spend some £££ to fight them and it might not be worth the cost. remember the tyres have done 16,000 miles, so you have had a fair bit of wear out of them if it was me i'd be more concerned about any suspension damage, although proving that leaving the transit blocks in has caused the damage might be a problem. you said that another skoda dealer looked at the car and said it would cost £1000 to fix but they cant tell you whats wrong, i dont get that
-
Transport blocks left in
the problem is though, it will cost you more to fight them than it would to put 2 new tyres on the car and there would be no guarantee that you would win anyway. if it was me, i'd buy 2 new tyres and move on

Superb iV Road Tax Bracket
the £510 a year road tax on £40k + cars would be scrapped if people voted with there wallets, if there was loads of unsold £40k+ cars lying in fields , at the docks etc , they would'nt be long in scrapping it as along as people are willing to pay it, it's not going away

Buying New Superb: Option Questions
i believe it's based on the list price, which is the price of the car + any extras + delivery charges & vat it does'nt include the 1st year road tax cost or the registration fee [£25] i think i'd want to know my list price before signing anything, if your just over the £40k, you could leave out some options and add them in later when you get the car. but i think the price is likely to rise again the way things are going, so it's difficult when your list price is so close to the £40k

Superb facelift debadging or alternative badges
i'm gonna go with the round skoda badge in gloss black, i think it will look better than the large letters that i removed.
-
Delivery Delays
yea it was, i cant fault her or the garage , she always kept me informed and that was without me chasing things up, and i got the car sooner than expected at a great price. sarah did say to me that lee one of the sales team had left, i dealt with him , he was ok, i got the impression he was under pressure, the way of the world nowadays i suppose, maybe that's why he left

Superb L&K 4x4 estate has anybody installed rear seats in the boot area?
i think headroom might be a problem
-
Superb facelift debadging or alternative badges
if you mean the skoda letters in gloss black, that's what i removed as no likey
-
Superb facelift debadging or alternative badges
i think i prefer the all black gloss badge to the white background i got a gloss black badge off ebay, and i have to say the paint finish is good on it, better than i was expecting, but the badge is curved, so only good for the bonnet, which i'll probably use it for.
-
Superb facelift debadging or alternative badges
I've never liked the large letters across the back of the facelift so decided to debadge, but after removing, it just looks a bit bare, i'm now thinking it needs something there as does'nt look right, so i'm looking at a few alternatives i'm gonna go with the ABT badge in the bottom left but i think i need something higher up as well a few alternatives skoda gloss black bmw pi$$ take audi pi$$ take

Exhaust emissions control system warning lights
It needs plugged in and scanned, but rather than give the stealers £60, might be better to buy an obd11 which can be had for less than £60 and scan it yourself. Even if your not able to fix it yourself, you will know exactly what's wrong with it and it's always good when you can tell them the problem, as less likely to get ripped off

Is black badge a step to far?
black badge looks ok to me, but i would have put the original vrs badge back on after spraying it black to match

Buying New Superb: Option Questions
are you saying the price went up £2.5k over night ?, seems like a hefty price increase, i take it you where below the £40k list price on the 31st march, and that extra £2.5k is probably gonna put you into the rip off road tax bracket by the time you get the car and if it does'nt, it's not leaving much to play with if there's any further price increases

2.0 TSI Remap Options
The main reason people buy a pedalbox is to increase the throttle response, but you can do the same thing with the obd11 change and using sport mode. So why part with £180 of your hard earned
-
2.0 TSI Remap Options
i've had/have a peddlebox , imo, a peddlebox is snake oil, dont waste your money, change the throttle response to direct with obd11 and use sport mode,
