removing kodiaq lower outer door panel
For a main dealer that does't seem too expensive, especially in your neck of the woods, but they certainly don't sound a friendly bunch and I'd certainly be looking take it to a reputable local bodyshop, or one of the driveway merchants you mention. I have a similar dilemma as you regarding service as I've only done 1100miles since last July. Someone asked Honest John if they should have their oil change done as they'd only done 1000 miles and the answer was "get it done because the oil is still a year old". Mine will be the third service + MOT, so I'm going to get it done at the dealer because any faults that could show up in the MOT will hopefully get fixed under warranty before it runs out and I'll get that 3rd service stamp in the virtual service book. It will make a difference when I come to sell the car, but if I keep it for a while, I'll get future services done at reputable independent. Regarding the air con, I'd leave well alone if it's working okay. If you've used it on a regular basis, then it should be fine. My air con is always on which keeps the seals lubricated.

Yes we really do, out of curiosity if nothing else and you should name and shame the dealer if the cost is off the wall.

Thankyou.

Keyless Entry Security
Does anyone know if VAG have upped their game with keyless entry security yet ? There was talk some time ago of some manufactures redesigning the fobs so that when they are left static for a short time, the keyless entry would be disabled. This probably isn't the correct place to ask, but we have a used Golf MK 8 coming next week and was wondering if security will be better than my Kodiaq.

Kodiaq jittery shaky ride at stable speed 50-80 km/h
You need to stop drinking, you're shaking and driving on the wrong side of the road

Kodiaq jittery shaky ride at stable speed 50-80 km/h
You've missed the point, 2.7 bar is too high. Try 2.3 bar and if it's no better then it's likely something is out of balance considering that it's not happening at all speeds.

Kenny has jogged my memory and 2.3 bar is what I inflated mine to. As I said, that extra 3 or 4 lbs I pumped in does make me feel more road imperfections, so going to 2.7 bar is certainly going to make your ride harsher. I would definitely let some air out and try the pressures at the recommended 2.3 bar.

Are you UK based ? I'd suggest that initially you let some air out of your tyres. I have the same tyres as you and a recent tyre pressure check revealed they'd deflated by a few pounds due to lack of use during Covid. The extra 3 or 4 pounds I put into back into the tyres certainly made a difference to the ride i.e. I can feel more imperfections in the road surface now and I'm pretty sure I didn't inflate them to 2.7bar. I could check if you want.

Reversing camera fault ?
Thanks Kenny, I haven't noticed it doing that so I'll pay it some attention.

Reversing camera fault ?
I had genuine Skoda reversing camera fitted last year by an independent, which was correctly coded to the car via the VW system in Germany. Whilst it hasn't had much use due to Covid, it has worked flawlessly until today. Now when I select reverse, the camera works fine, but then when I select drive the camera stays on in the infotainment screen. In the top right corner of the screen is an X, which when pressed switches off the camera. Anybody else had this and if so, is there a fix ?

Searching for something on a forum often isn't easy and I've found that doing a Google search is often easier and will likely take you to the place you want to be e.g.

Is there a boot liner for when the 7 seats are up?
Having had a Superb estate, albeit a diesel version, I think the only thing you'll miss in the Kodiaq is the power of your current engine. I wish Skoda would fit that engine in the Kodiaq. Also, if you currently have electric seats, you'll miss those too.

I did wonder if losing the lip might bother you. If your current one is like mine i.e. quite pliable, I'd cut it oversized enough so that you could make your own lip along the edge you cut. If necessary, use some duct tape or similar to help it keep shape. I doubt aesthetics matter too much in the boot.

Or buy a cheapie from e bay and cut it to fit.

Where is the paint code sticker in the 2019/2020 KODIAQ?
This is of no help I'm afraid, but I just had a quick look in my boot and there's no sticker where the above video shows it should be. It could be under the spare wheel in the well, but getting to that is a faff in my car. If you get no suitable answers here, I'd be inclined to phone your dealer and ask them, or a decent car body repair shop would know I'd think.

Retro fit reverse camera?
You're just playing on words now and I have no agenda except to help people. You've inferred in this thread that a cheap camera will do the same job as a Skoda camera without coding it and you stated in a previous thread that a cheap Chinese camera will do just that, whether you choose to remember it or not. I for one hope you're correct but you choose not to back up up your statements by explaining how this can be done. In the interests of others, why not share how this can be done rather than just offer what is useless information without backup. I for one would have liked to know how to buy and fit a £12 camera and not have to code it and I'm sure there's others who would too. Of course, a £12 spend is better than any charge a dealer might levy, so why not share how to do it and earn the eternal gratitude of those that would save ££££s by following your instructions ?? This is not a game, I don't do that, but I do say that if you have kosher info, then share it. In other words, put up or shut up.

Retro fit reverse camera?
You've made the statement about fitting a cheap Chinese camera on a previous thread on this subject, but it would appear that you don't own a Kodiaq and when I questioned you about whether you did, you failed to reply. How can you reliably state that a cheap, knockoff version can be fitted and will work if you've never actually fitted one to a Kodiaq ? I doubt many of us know the difference between a canbus, a can't bus or a double decker bus, so we have to rely on taking our car to a garage that does have the knowledge. As I mentioned earlier, I had a genuine part fitted by an independent garage, which once fitted, had to be coded to my car via a computer link to VAG in Germany which incurs an additional fee. I'm sure you know a lot of stuff re cars as you seem to have demonstrated in other threads, and I'm also sure that if you could demonstrate in laymens terms how to fit and wire a cheap camera which will then work in conjunction with the inbuilt infotainment screen as a properly fitted Skoda camera would, then the community here would be eternally grateful, me included if you'd told us earlier.

Retro fit reverse camera?
I've had it done on my SeL using genuine Skoda parts, as have a few others here. Can't speak for having it fitted to the SE though. Having it done at a dealer is not a cheap option, mine quoted £520 last year. I had mine done at an independent and the cost to him of buying the kit from Skoda was £127. There's a guy in Leeds who a few people here have used to do this job. His prices are somewhat cheaper than main dealer prices and it's all done properly. Once the camera is fitted, it then needs to be coded to your car and apparently not all main dealers know how to do this.

Amundsen with Deactivated NAV? How to solve it?
Unless you desperately want sat nav on your dash screen and considering what you're being asked to pay to achieve that, I would either use my phone or buy a stand alone Garmin, which in my experience is superior to sat nav fitted in Skoda cars.

Extended warranty
I have a similar dilemma and asked a similar question to yours recently. I was informed that had I taken out an extended warranty when the car was new, then it would be the same as a new car warranty. However, taking it out now means you won't get the same cover as a new car warranty. So check the small print before committing and maybe look at warranty companies to see how their terms and prices compare to Skoda. I haven't checked this, but apparently an extended warranty comes from another provider, not Skoda themselves. Like you, I've had no major problems with my car, although it's done little mileage, so I'm inclined not to take out a warranty

Roof Bag
Daftest idea I've seen in a long time !! If you like and respect your car leave this well alone. Have a look for used roof bars and boxes on E Bay. All sorts of grit and dirt will get trapped between that bag and your roof and it will act like sandpaper and will abrade the roof.

Interior lights ON when Tailgate open
So, Kodiaqs are not created equal, VAG don't make things simple do they ! My apologies to Boxer Boy as it seems we're both correct and we still haven't answered the OPs original question.
