  1. That will be the failed component but there will be no fluid leak, just air drawn in, bleeding the clutch brings temporary respite.
  2. The problem will be the concentric slave cylinder drawing in air through the O ring joint on the feedpipe within the bellhousing. Remedy is gearbox out, replace slave cylinder and usually clutch and DMF while its apart.
  3. I had the emissions fix rolled back a couple of years after having a remap to allegedly 184hp, it made no difference at all to the power and response, economy increased slightly and it feels even smoother on part throttle running, big difference is only hearing the fans running on after shutdown once every 18 months!!!!! VCDS will not tell you if you have a DPF, only what the differential pressure sender says is the pressure drop and if it really has been removed then there may be something like an EGR emulator/simulator to give expected but false readings to the ECU. The EGR delete if done was almost certainly done by an emulator/simulator, the engine and VCDS will still think it is there (which it is physically) and doing as its commanded. My rollback was done by Celtic Tuning whose remap I had, they would have done them both together with the rollback FOC but Covid restrictions meant I could not get to them, the remap was done by an agent garage.
  4. I do not think the painted finish on that trim part was done in the Skoda factory, if it were body colour like the bumpers I would not be so sure. Does anyone know if the plastic bumpers are supplied to the production line painted to the body colour? I dont think they are sprayed on the vehicle as there is full body colour and lacquer behind them.
  5. Thanks for the correct word I'm not so sure about being painted on the Skoda paint line, if it were body colour then yes but as its a plastic part not manufactured by Skoda I would be fairly sure that it was delivered to the line ready finished for bonding into place. Given that it is painted the question is does the Skoda paintwork warranty extend to painted trim parts? Given the car is 8 years old TurnipFarmer has no chance.
  6. Bluewagon, in your opinion, the plastic part which is bonded into position and is a standard colour across all the Panoramic roofs and different to the body colour of the vehicle, would it have been painted on the production line?
  7. Just as well that they could not get going, that much weight and power transferred by rubber band tyres in snow and ice is a recipé for disaster. Small light low powered FWD cars will always be one of the best especially with all season tyres.
  8. I bought these yesterday after the arm fell off the old ones, not cheap either at 89cts 😀 What are you seeing that I am not or vice versa? I googled the part number also to hopefully avoid making a dumb comment. I am seeing a vehicle with silver paintwork and a black Plano roof or whatever they are called.
  9. Whatever it is with captive bolts it will not have fallen off, it has been removed from whatever it was once attached to and left on a subframe or undertray to later fall down, it may not even have been your vehicle.
  10. It's not painted as part of the factory bodywork process, its a plastic (by the look of it) part probably that Piano Black nonsense, a different colour to the vehicle, I don't believe it would come under the scope of the paintwork warranty any more than would tarnished or peeling door edging strips or rusting windscreen wiper arms. @Turnipfarmer84 how old is the car, did you buy it new?
  11. I would have a VCDS scan done to ensure that the Haldex controller has not been removed from the "Installation list" That said I'm not sure that any fault codes would be generated from the lack of a propshaft so there would have been no need of such a measure.
  12. My late uncle lived in the area in his early married days and much later on after living in Australia and South Africa. I recall he worked for Dowtys, Westlands at Yeovil where he met my aunt, Gloster Aircraft Corporation, Gloster Saro, the other names I have forgotten, I have fond memories of the area.
  13. I agree, for anyone searching the correct trade name is Dowty made by Dowty Equipment until 1992, TSS i now the OE manufacturer.
  14. If there is just the one bridge shown on the box, a hot melt gun and some glue sticks then you can get a lot more for your money from Ali-Express. Mind you for a few pounds or €uros more there will be a set including another must have tool, then another for a few £s €s more, you can easily spend a lot more to make up a useable working PDR toolkit. One of the stripy lights and mirrors is a must IMO, it will be my next investment.
  15. Were you mistaken regarding the brake fluid on the carpet under the pedal box? Have you recently had work done on the steering suspension or brakes of the front O/S? I have never known a correctly tightened banjo fitting come loose in service, could it be a malicious act?
  16. J.R. replied to paco's topic in Skoda Karoq
Great satisfaction, fun even for me
  17. Does it have a remote reservoir? You might be lucky and find that the feed pipe has come off the master cylinder although it would require an external force and to have been loose so would have been leaking before. Likely the master cylinder seal, be thankful that it occurred at a standstill. I agree that you would have had a low fluid warning when driving before it became critical.
  18. Absolutely not, the clutch would have failed long before the brakes were starved of fluid.
  19. Only you will know whether your statement is factual or not.
  20. A result, as they are shown on an early car there is a good chance that your door controller will be compatible, do your door looms contain the extra wires and have compatible connectors? If it programs and works then great, if it doesn't then you need to find the part number and suffix for the high level one, if you have VCDS which you will need for the long coding then Ross-Tech will probably be able to give you the required info like they do for the steering wheel modules.
  21. I thought the OP was very clear in his comment that he intends sourcing folding mirrors: The question is does such a beast exist for the Yeti, were they standard fitment on higher spec cars?
  22. My understanding is no, it will revert to exactly how an alternator should behave. Other more knowledgeable people may correct me. Ah sorry, I misread your question, same answer, it will behave exactly as an alternator with a voltage regulator, whether it has a physical voltage regulator or the control module does it I dont know
  23. Then be smart and disconnect the current sensing shunt lead to revert to a standard battery charging profile.
  24. I'm fairly sure that the passenger mirrors are plain and do not "exaggerate" the distance, the drivers one however has a distorted field of vision to cover the blind spot when pulling out to overtake, that of course is far more dangerous than pulling back in. I understand what you are seeking, I looked for it myself for the same reason but what you actually want is a blind spot mirror lens for the passenger side but be careful what you wish for, I got burned!!! The only way to achieve it is to buy a drivers door mirror for the LHD variant of the vehicle which I did and fitted, it was worse than useless because the optics were designed to be viewed by the driver sitting in the seat next to the mirror not the other side of the car.
  25. Mine is 2015 EU5 emission control and does not have stop start, looks like I dodged a bullet.
