  1. Well after three years of 3.6 loveliness it's time to move on. Circumstances have changed, I wanted something different and a Volvo XC70 fitted the bill. I'm going to really miss the 3.6 engine, it's a lovely unit and feels just as strong as the day I got it. I wont miss the fuel bills and road tax! All the best and thanks for any help/advice given.
  2. I'd get OBDeleven, it's dearer than a simple scanner but you can do so much more with it.
  3. Very likely it's the compressor. I had mine replaced by a local air con specialist, wasn't cheap though.
  4. Wish these would work with the Skoda Sound System 😠
  5. Mine does this and I can condensation blowing out when I give it full beans and red line it. All fluid levels spot on, doesn't use anything, I just think the exhaust hold moisture from lots of short journeys.
  6. My first thought is they didn't replace like for like on the clock spring. The replacement needs to be the same part code or one that has superseded it, you can't just code any module. Have a look at the link below, it's a minefield: Clock spring codes
  7. Panoramic roof. A truly terrible piece of engineering.
  8. It's quite straight forward: https://www.instructables.com/Å KODA-Superb-MK2-door-panel-removal/ Follow the above plus remove the interior panel covering the inside of the wing mirror (three clips I think). Unplug the mirror, there's some sound insulation that needs removing and unscrew the wing mirror. Fitting is the reverse.
  9. Then get a tyre with a 91 rating. There isn't much between the Superb and a Golf of the same age when it comes to weight.
  10. That's the maximum weight allowed when fully loaded and it's actually 2297kg on mine. The kerbwight plus the standard 75kg person is 1736kg for mine so a 2wd 1.8 is going to be at least 150kg less than that.
  11. Two tonnes? don't know where you've seen that but they're nothing like that; my 3.6 V6 with 4x4 and DSG comes in at 1660kg so you could probably knock at least 150kg of that for yours. I find the 18" fine, I use Cross Climate tyres.
  12. Try drying out the struts. I propped the door open, removed the struts hung them upside down for a while and then sprayed contact cleaner inside them. Been spot on since and I had exactly the same problem as you.
  13. Sorry, mines the estate I forget the saloon is actually a hatch.
  14. Mine are 2010. About six months a go the left hand side one packed up completely. Before spending a wedge I decided to have a play. I took them off, hung them upside down (a surprising amount of water came out) and left them to dry. I sprayed a very liberal amount of contact cleaner down into the strut and refitted. Worked perfectly and touch wood been faultless since. I had a feeling water ingress was the reason for failure.
  15. I'll answer my own question; you do need a compatible unit, there are charts on the net that you can cross reference the codes for compatibility.
  16. So my clock spring broke last night. Done a scan and OBDeleven saying part no. is 5K0953569B, can't find any for sale with the B, plenty of others with different letters at the end. Tried to order one but the seller would sell as they've searched using my reg and only the 5K0953569AL or 5K0953569H will work. Does this sound right? I have a backup of the coding which I will use on the replacement, I presumed the letter would either be a manufactured date identifier or installed coding. Not sure what to do now?
  17. At the risk of tempting fate since I repaird the damaged hose I've had no sign of water ingress from the roof. I still had the rear left corner to look at but that's stopped now. I suspect the hose might have been a major issue from the start. I did check it when I first noticed the problem but I'm thinking it was failing and couldn't see it when the headliner was back in place.
  18. So I had a look and the only place dry as the joint that I presume was the issue. The real issue was immediately apparant. The drain pipe had completely collapsed as can been seen in the photo. The whole roof had obviosly filled and run over the edge. I've manage to cobble a temporay replacement and water is flowing out. Still got something happening on one of the rears but hopefully the majoy culprit is sorted.
  19. As above really. The hardest part is removing the headliner, it just doesn't want to come out without folding. I think if you removed every piece of trim it would be that's a huge job. Once the headlining is out it's quite simple. The blind for the roof wants to spring out so watch that. Once out, you could try to seal inbetween the joints just be careful trying to seperate them as the plastic is weak. I think my attempt as sealing between the joints would have been successful but I made a mistake refitting the roof which caused damaged to the motor gearing (which is very very soft plastic). I did find this earlier: http://www.audicomplaints.com/sunroof-leaks/
  20. And back to pouring in again. What an absolute load of junk that roof is. Love the car in general, got it running really well but I'm not sure I can cope with this anymore.
  21. Got the bulb out warning for dipped beam. I've changed the bulb but no luck so I'm presuming it's the ballast. Is it really bumper off job?
  22. Does a failing pump cause codes to be stored?
