  1. My ConnectLTE app has only used 52 meg since started using it, prob a couple of hundred miles and about a dozen journeys. I’ve got a 1,500 mile trip planned next week, will see how much it uses on that.

Take a vid clip with it making the sound, for the sound rather than the pics, post it on YouTube then post the link.
  3. SE’s the discerning choice. Just enough creature comforts but no hassle items like leaking sunroofs and inbuilt satnag. Just sayin.
  4. Now that is good thinking.
  5. Luckily there are 2 cup holders for two cups of coffee at any one time. And doubly lucky SWMBO doesn’t do coffee and thinks tea out of a steel cut tastes mingie. No pics of it but I did buy a cheep steel car cup in Woolies when in your part of the world for 3 months early 2020. Worked a treat and if anything kept the coffee too hot, but not bad for A$9.99! Might fit. Shame it got binned for return trip as hand baggage only.
  6. The Nespresso car cup I use is 63mm across the base, fits like the holder was built around the cup.

    A pic might help.

Also a new model iphone SE.

Next time out in the car I’ll have a look and see if this happens with cars that don’t have the keyless malarkie.

Oi, less of the spoilers please!!!
  11. Remember a few years ago when Arran got hit really badly in spring? ISTR it was several feet of snow on roads between hedges. Started to snow heavily here again, I might well get to see how the 4x4 side of my Karoq behaves without the magic glue that is on winter tyres! PS And re lambs, hope the little new born lambs I was running past yesterday are OK, this will be a shock to their system!!
  12. It’s all my fault! Just N of us. PS Just looks out the window and it’s snowing here!
  13. There is a very good plus side to all seasons vs a set of pure winters plus a set of summers, you don’t change them over too early like I’ve done! For both cars! We are slightly up and slightly left of the red dot in the cross.

Auto lights and wipers are std on SEs, at least they are on my MY2020 SE. It doesn’t have SatNav but nav via CarPlay works a treat, plus no leaking sunroof. The discerning choice, but I would say that!
  15. Before I bought mine (2.0 TDi 4x4 DSG) the Skoda configurator showed mid 30s mpg ISTR, I’m presently averaging 52mpg (real world). Glad I ignored those numbers.

It’s the apple version on my SE2. Last update of MySkoda, 4/3/21, was to V4.0.0.

The MySkoda app should show when the next service is due, plus full in the blanks for the last one.
  18. They certainly are truly woeful. Would be interesting to know if the same rubbish blades are fitted up the food chain (Seat, VW, Audi).

Got the same engine, haven’t noticed anything like that. Which I know doesn’t really help.
  20. Sets of Karoq rims are a bit like unicorn teeth (to mix metaphors) but reasonable supply of sets Yeti rims out there.
  21. Daft thing is there is an Audi space saver (from memory) that has virtually the correct rolling circumference, hence would be perfect, but that’s not what we get. I was going to source one but went for a 5th full sized alloy with identical tyre. For both summers and winters. You can never have enough wheel & tyres!
  22. I had a look at my skinny spare compared with my normal 225/55/17 tyre, there was about a 7% reduction in rolling circumference, hence car would think the hub with the spare on was going 7% faster. That might be enough for the car to throw a minor wobbly and not engage ACC.
  23. And how would a tester even know what was fitted on manufacture? I regularly used to put my cars in where I’d changed complete halogen units for xenons, and never had any issues. All of them had lights wash so that was never a problem but I doubt they had any access to info that they were originally halogens. I can see if they clock “upgrade” bulbs then yes, fail. Personally not that bothered with fitting LEDs, it looks too much hassle TBH. Keeping upgraded H7s in mind, pos for next winter.
  24. Daft question but why would changing from halogens to LEDs be an MOT fail item? I know changing from halogen to xenons would need light washing in place, but for LED lights? This has a slight element of deja vu so I may have asked the same question previously.
  25. What I’ve done, having a proper spare for both “summer” and winter wheels. Also do long hauls and if I’m unlucky enough to have a puncture I want to be able to get the wheel changed, crack on then sort out the puncture at my leisure. Though I have a higher floor due to 4x4 gubbins so loose a bit of boot volume. I didn’t bother extending the support for the floor in the centre of the wheel as I’ve enough junk that I carry (jump leads, boots, clothing, etc) to fill the wheel with so all is flat. Similarly either side of the wheel so I can carry reasonably heavy stuff in the boot with the floor supported.
