New Karoq, first impressions and comparison
While on the issue of LED bulbs, and to save me going out in the sleety rain, anyone know if any other internal light fittings have w5w/501 type bulbs? Got this bulb fitted in the boot, much to SWMBO’s annoyance as I nicked it from the boot light in her car. Fired up a treat and no errors. Not bad for £1 a pop. Hopefully not literally.

GoogMaps on CarPlay. It’s Da Future I tell you. Not sure I’d bother with built in SatNags any more.

New Karoq, first impressions and comparison
Just removed the boot light from it’s mounting point and opened up, woooopeeee it’s a standard w5w bulb so one of my LEDs is going in there. Just showed me how powerless this unit is, I didn’t even know it was there!

Off the top of your head, do you know what type of bulb fitment that is? Hoping it’s w5w as I have a bowl full of those from my previous cars.

@BryflyMany thanks, will see if my fiendish plan will work. If de-escalation of lockdown goes pear shaped, it’s all my fault as I started thinking about a Road Trip.

As a minor aside, anyone know how easy it is to remove the polystyrene gubbins for the spare wheel? Thinking I may be able to squeeze my Engel camping fridge and a full sized spare (prob deflated) in at basement level.

New SE L boot rattle
Reminds me of this chap being pulled out of my hedge by the suspension as no towing/lashing eye. Cable was wrapped round the suspension, it got a bit ouch-ish at one stage. I think the recovery did more damage than the crash!

SQUEAKS !
Tell me about it. With SW’s family in Ingerland and mine in Wales, and Queen Nicola having closed the border since well before Chrimbo, it’s pretty complicated up here as well. My parents have booked a cottage in Aviemore in back end of July, not sure they’re not being a bit hopeful.

SQUEAKS !
Sorted that typo out for you! To be serious, had mine out in -17c, a bit parkie, and all temps to that number, and all well.

SQUEAKS !
Mine doesn’t have any. 8 months old and 4,500 miles.

Any pics fitted? Thinking of those as a set of Road Trip rims, fitted with Michelin Lat Cross. For when we can do Road Trips again.

1200 mile Covid Service
Only reason I mention those is they seem to cause an inordinate amount of grief on this section of the forum, luckily I can gloss straight over them.

I’m happy, very happy with my Karoq. But then again I don’t have inbuilt SatNag or sunroof.

Excessive condensation
We had a bit of an issue with misting up, then it all freezing when it was nippy. We were in and out of the car almost daily with wet boots and often leaving snow in there. Once melted I used a squeegee to clear the moisture but made sure I got the water out of the car. Also when the car was warmed up got the car really hot inside then opened the windows a little all round to vent the moist air. Worked a treat. We were bringing a lot of moisture into the car and it was eventually condensing on the windows. As a slight aside, the rubber mats are great for getting rid of refrozen snow melt from our boots, just take out and shake out the ice.

Cleaning touchscreen
Agreed, but was pleasantly surprised how quickly the screen started to clear with the diesel when just idling and pretty severe frost/ice. Hopefully not need that until next winter!

Buyer's remorse, please help.
I didn’t have the option of the “factory” extended warranty but hope to get similar at the end of 3 years.
