  1. I bought my first ever Skoda back in June without even sitting in one and absolutely no regrets.
  2. Heated extras are the only things I miss, seat and steering wheel. I thought I’d miss the heated screen but the car warms up very quickly.
  3. Re phone a friend, I read that as get my arras down to my local garage and get them to do it, which in reality is prob what I’ll do. SWMBO’s been telling me to do that for years. I had no fear putting a 3t Disco up on the jack to regularly change tyres, but a bit nervous with the Karoq. Also it’s wheel bolts so no studs to slide the wheel on, all getting a bit complicated.

Would also be interested to know, get the same but never bothered following it up.
  5. As above, it’s designed for that. But a good point above, if using the sill hard point to jack up the car, where can you put an axle stand as a backup? I usually jack the corner up then partly let it down on an axle stand before fiddling, not sure I’d manage that on the Karoq short of jacking up using the wishbone then putting the stand under the hard point.
  6. New or pre-registered? We got 32% off list for a delivery miles per-registered Karoq 2.0 Tdi 4x4 DSG last June, £10k off list. We weren’t sure if that was a mistake or they were desperate to get rid of the evil diesel/4x4 combos. Was exactly what we were after at a bite their hand off price. Might explain naff all fuel!
  7. PS And re full tank of fuel, we waz robbed!!
  8. I was just being a tad tongue in cheek. SWMBO has recently, well end summer, entered a shielding category so would be asking exactly the same questions as you are. Luckily we picked up our Karoq a month before she developed her illness. Re wiping down, I’d have thought alco-wipes or similar would be fine but you’re asking our opinion on what will kill the virus and not damage the car, a question we all have views on but no real expertise on. If it was me, I’d still follow what I suggest as time on surfaces kills the bug, in addition to wiping down, decontaminating hands, etc.
  9. You’ve prob a far bigger chance of catching Da Bug from picking up fuel when you realise the dealer has given you less than 5 ltrs of fuel. if your being paranoid (just coz you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you) minimise what you touch in the car, don’t touch face, sanitise when you get out then leave the car for 3 days, pref in the sun, to kill off any pesky bugs. You don’t need to touch the screen, you don’t need to endlessly adjust the seats until they are just-so, you don’t need to adjust the AC until it’s perfect. Drive with the mind-set that everything is contaminated then see what actually needs to be touched.
  10. Something I have to do yet. ^^^^^^^^^
  11. PS Here’s a pic of mine I’d forgotten even existed! Amazing what a Google search will bring up.
  12. Have a look at Arcan 3t trolley jacks, usually available from Costco. I haven’t used mine on my Karoq but it’s got easily enough reach for Disco 3s with air suspension and goes low enough for low slung cars. I’ve had mine for over 10 years and it has been superb.
  13. Bought one of these a coupe, if months ago and it works perfectly. App is free, only thing I find weird is to see info on your own car you have to rack up miles to earn points. Seriously? Does Skoda think we are primary school children?
  14. Windows going down on key press is easy to sort out in the menus, just switch it off.

If it was me I wouldn’t worry re them being Yeti wheels. As long at they are the same size and weight rating then I’d be quite happy to run with them. I’ve already spoken to my Ins Co in case I find a set of wheels that aren’t Karoq and they are happy as long as they are the same spec as the ones on it. I wouldn’t use the tyres on there but that’s something to watch, esp weight rating. It’s worth a phone call to your Ins Co to see what they think, some are co-operative, some not but worth a try.

Not sure misting is an issue for MOTs, as long as the beam pattern is OK then it gets the tick. I think.
  17. Sorry, some of us (like moi) do tend to digress. Looks very .
  18. I started running again in my mid 50s having not run since my Forces days in my mid 20s. Unfortunately I had a major motivation, getting fit to run 10k races in memory of my twin bruv. Not saying I’ve gotten to the stage of liking running after over 1,000kms, and I know I ain’t going to enjoy tomorrow.
  19. We were at the end of 6 months travelling so I blame Aussie portion sizes. It’s hard being on a diet in that country when one breakie would feed me for a couple of days at least. Also had to go on a virtually zero carb diet for a serious medical condition SWMBO developed in the summer which meant a radical change to our diet. If I feel my weight isn’t shifting as it should I find a steak and salad in the evening followed by a 5km run the next morning gets it shifted. Plus no vino for 6 months, though that has fallen by the wayside a little bit but no more than one bottle a week. Haven’t been out running for 2 months due to snow and ice, it’s going to hurt!
  20. @kenfowler3966 Good weight loss. I was 19st when lockdown #1 started, lost 3 1/4st since then and 2st more to go. Unfortunately the ice is all gone from round here so out running tomorrow.
  21. Not sure I’d have bothered trying one even in “normal” times, my IL’s have one and they weren’t complaining about anything, which is most unusual, so it must be good. Also this one came up as pre-registered with £11k discount over list so it was a case of bite quickly before anyone else does.
  22. I’m 6’ and just under 16st (was 18st when I picked up my car in June 20) and find the fit absolutely fine. My last cars were Disco 3s and 4s, so a fair change in size . My longest day’s drive was 600 miles and got out as fresh as a daisy. PS Re trying, I hadn’t even sat in one before I picked mine up. Living life on the ragged edge!

Sales of AllSeason and winter tyres are going to hit the roof this year! And all this snow everywhere else, in our part of the Heelands we’ve had the square route of naff all recently. Roads are all clear, even the ones that haven’t seen a gritter in decades, and even with temps down to -10c through the night the ice is melting with the sun. No fun in the snow on our roads, obviously where allowed.

But be aware the quest for rims becomes addictive. This is my “standard” search screen for the 2 or 3, or 4, more rims for mine. As you can see, there are a lot of ducks to line up. From memory 5x112, ET45 and 7j 17, it all gets a bit overwhelming.
