Have I got this ET/offset malarkie correct in my mind? A lower ET means the wheel sits further out and higher further in? So ET33 would sit 12mm further out than the ET45 on Ratikons, and ET51 (if there was such a thing) would be 6mm further in? Amazing what puzzles me this merry morning!

They are 7j width so a bit wider, however ISTR someone on here has 6.5j 17” Q3 alloys for his winter set without any problems. However don’t rely on my vague memories, esp after a few glasses of rather nice Aussie red. PS This type. Again from memory and I could be wrong, that has been known. It was a Tuesday and raining.
  3. No freebies here as well. But as it was last June and we were just starting to come out of LD #1 the less things handled by humanoids in the car the better.
  4. Mine looks the same but the glass is tight against the back if the bumper.

Me neither, driving on fresh snow through to sheet black ice, never knew when it was 2wd or 4wd. And that was without the fancy mode switching that pauper level doesn’t have, car just did it’s thing. Very happy with its performance in the conditions I bought it, the 4x4 version, for. 👍

    Good old auto-cricket.
  7. Similarly bought pre-reg with a fairly massive discount. She was a bit older, built July 19, registered end Dec 19 and I bought her with delivery mikes end June 20. Lots of sitting around for her but doesn’t seem to have caused any issues.

Hope it wasn’t too rough on the tongue!

PS Another option would be any wheel the same size if you don’t mind a different alloy on the wheel if the spare is being used. That opens up other wheel option. I’ve only looked at 17” rims but if I wanted to do that it would be any 17” Karoq or Yeti alloy, plus as it would be a spare condition wouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Assuming not a 4x4 Karoq, an option is to get a full sized spare (or another wheel same type as on the car), but the jack, tools, inserts and fixing point would still be needed. The tools come up often enough on EBay, getting another wheel same as on the car would be a bit more difficult second hand as Karoq wheels are a bit like unicorn teeth. Certainly better for long hauls as it’s just swap out and carry on as before, sorting out puncture once at destination or home. Plus no 50mph/50 miles limits. Even with 4x4 version, with its Haldex gubbins, a full sized spare is perfectly do-able, you’d just loose a bit of boot height.
  11. You could try and haggle in a free service, something that worth a chunk of the extra £335 but no real cost to the dealer.
  12. You can all blame me for this rubbish weather, I took my winters off late March. Living life on the ragged edge!
  13. Steering wheel still looks just odd in my eyes.
  14. My MY20 SE deffo doesn’t have an SOS button. It might be for new models from a set date in 2018 so the present Karoq squeezed in under the wire.
  15. Daft question but you have a LHD car in Portsmouth??
  16. It wouldn’t worry me.
  17. I used to use the stick change method on prev cars (Disco 3s & 4) quite a bit but have never found myself needing to do so with the DSG box. Even with overtaking I find it responsive enough to get to the right gear when I need it. To paraphrase Rouge One, I am in tune with the DSG and the DSG is in tune with me!
  18. At least we sorted the auto wipe, not a lot we can do for the torch or the flappy paddles. Got both (MY20 SE) but never used the torch and only played with the paddles a couple of times, never used in anger. Not that that helps much.
  19. What’s on the left side of the stalk graphics?
  20. Right side shows the wash function, wipe is left side. I read the INT as variable intermittent and that goes to full time wiping and fast as the car decides, pretty much auto.
  21. Re auto wipers, not up one notch then controlled with the twiddle wheel on top of the stalk?
  22. Now that’s deffo worth a try, many thanks.
  23. Right, 555 miles long hauling with no adjusting, seat went from: to: Deffo needs sorted but will wait until the 1st service in December. SWMBO did wonder why I’d started driving with the seat so reclined, as pointed out above it’s so gradual I didn’t notice.
  24. ..... switch off your VPN. This was the first issue I had with CarPlay on the Karoq, it just wouldn’t connect no matter what I did. Rebooted the phone, change the cable, checked whatever settings I could check, until I noticed that the VPN on my iPhone was trying to connect. Switched the VPN off and CarPlay worked instantly.
  25. Just done near enough 600 miles and the data used was the princely total of 6mb. @Kenny R do you have an iPhone and can look in settings and see if the app is eating data?
