Hi.. thank you for link.. Update was smoth.. all went OK.. Just for others.. maybe before update turn Climate to OFF. For me it started in the middle of update, which can drain Accu. much faster.. but my car survived 👍 Also after update new SW update was instantly found and installed. Some pictures..

Why to bother with maps on cocpit which are not Google maps.. maps on cocpit would be good only if there would be possible to use Google maps which is personalized with daily routine / favourites etc.. VAG is way behind other companies which already implemented google stuff and it is much better..

After 1896 there is black space not only for Apple but also for Android GUI.. The reason is new GUI behaive, which is now much faster (no more window/app switching as Android Auto is not top-most anymore - infortaiment is allways top-most)..

Yesterday I leave car for Infortainment update and for update some HW FW as because there was / for many probably still is bug that in some circumstances car can empty accu. battery so that car do not react anymore (complete empty accu. battery - happened to me in Croatia in the middle of sea vacation!!!).. nevermind.. did buy new accu. just that I could come home.. Old accu. is OK, it was just drained (emptied) totaly.. Ignition by other car with cables did not help... Regarding 1896.. much faster, better translations (Slovenian users), no more laggy touch response.. also back camera opened almost instant.. many impovements.. Before had 1803.. PS. After first car ignition (on 1896) there was also another software updates and installed successfully..

The main question is if car has no active data subscription if this mean no internet connection..? Or this mean that this function is disabled only for user to use and data is still available as for car..

I got also Service recall button update on 1803 FW.. @TheUltraRunner I disabled eSIM data as I do not have active data subscription. At home car is connected to WiFi and on driving car is connected to phone hotspot which is automaticly enabled/disabled on my phone when it connect to cars bluetooth.. PS. My phone support bluetooth, wifi and hotspot at same time so that android auto works also via wifi with hotspot at the same time..

You are talking about getting small bugfixes and not about FW from 1803 to 1896 I assume?

For me comes when car connect to mobile hotspot or at night when car is or can be connected to home 2.4 GHz WiFi.. Don't have eSIM mobile data..

Yes, I do understand that you receive updates via OTA as bugfixes etc.. My main question was if anybody did get FW update from 1803 to 1896 via OTA or this can be done only manualy?

Did anybody receive this update via OTA? Lately I'm receiving updates on weekly base, but SW still on 1803..

I would also like download file and do it by myself.. it's not a rocket science to make a update..

Yes.. that is correct.. until now I need manualy enable high beam.. after update it does by itself when darkness fall..

And what do you notice as different? Is it worth of updating?

PS. I have Matrix LED lights which was working just fine.. What exactly this will do differently as before?

The same happened to me today.. it was installed by itself and there was notify that function is now enabled.. In menu I can now see this option which is enabled (how it was before I do not know - probably missing)..

For video while driving contact MTL. I personaly have this function enabled.. It's qul to have on long drive with kids in car - let's say that the watch some cartoon etc.. But for Android / Apple this can not be done withouth root access to phone device..

Had the same problem today and after latest OTA update I did take car engine to OFF and back to ON, then the problem was resolved after email login to Skoda Connect. Also there was Android App update. And I did login also to Skoda Connect web page and agree to new terms. Now all is working a little faster / regarding online service data..

YouTube music is working normaly, but you must have Premium (bljah yea Google, want more money) account..

Accually.. in case of UniFi you can define another WiFi with only 2.4MHz broadcast.. but probably you do not have this option..

They will do FW update of brake component and problem regarding not releasing will be gone.. Had the same issue..
