  1. Hi Paul. Welcome back.
  2. Not managed that quite yet... just caught out an Insignia diesel that was in the wrong lane. Those 1.2 HTPs are grand until you get beyond third gear.
  3. Oh yes tell me about it! I'm at the point where I'll buy a car just to get the bumper off it, I should have went for that ropey auld thing I came across a little while back. That's me telt. 155 (we'll round up) is bloody decent out of that engine too. My wee trailer wouldn't know what had hit it if I'd had something like that towing it.
  4. Could always do what @@Lee did with his PD100 and try and get a hold of a GT lip for the pre-facelift bumper? That's what I had intended to do with mine. But regardless, it'd look pretty smart going for the Q-Car/Sleeper look, could catch a few folk out. Don a trilby, tweed jacket and some other stuff and you'll scare the sh!t out of the backwards bunnet folk in their BMWs.
  5. 2005 2.0 MPI Elegance. Didn't see the Maxidot on this one at first. Looks like someone's ripped the radio/sat nav out mind you. Reg is DV05NRU. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202302234577918
  6. Is that this becoming a vRSDI-come-slightly irregular vRS? If so, I'm all for it!
  7. One that I also posted in my project thread. Decided to have a go with the DSLR today. Macro/close-up photography has always been my thing, so wanting to get back into shooting in that style again.
  8. This one got new tyres on Saturday and has been running about nicely since. Since it was sunny for once, I went out with the DSLR and took some photos up at a bit I used to frequent to have a half hour escape from everything and just admire the scenery.
  9. I'm sure I could make a trip down from "sunny" Scotland.
  10. Good work going on here, as always. Lovely to see the proverbial wheels in motion.
  11. I'm taking notes here, not for welding the Fab I have (it's remarkably sound for now), but the rusty heap of ****e I seem to have ended up with and am welding with a more competent supervisor.
  12. Wonderful style of writing here. I love it.
  13. A welcome to you from a part-time Glaswegian, if such a thing exists.
  14. Interested to see what this'll look like once welded, and then tidied up again.
  15. Ooooo a Jaguar? How posh! I did indeed, also miss this milestone.
  16. The 'HTP' (hardly the power, has three pistons etc) are keen on swallowing coil packs too. Just as a heads up for the OP.
  17. Quite a bit, to be honest. This was £255 in parts alone, and £240 for labour. I'm not complaining, all of that has really refreshed what felt like a tired car. It's also going for tyres tomorrow (all round due to the funny wear) since I managed to get quite the discount from the local fitters for some all-season Falken things.
  18. Ah yes the Fabia isn't known for it's starfish-esque qualities.
  19. Good luck sorting it out! God's sakes Lee.
  20. I declared mine, just to be on the safe side. No changes to premium. But regardless I'd rather pay that little bit more than have my insurance marked null should my car get friendly with a field or whatever.
  21. Only bonus is house wins the dosh, I suppose...
  22. Did anyone guess £585?! Got the wheels balanced as well as it ejected a balancing weight. Now the car has a year's ticket and I have a car, by extension. May the norm resume.
  23. Glad to see you've made it over the other side now, Jim. Both, would be the correct answer I'm sure.
  24. Just the one for now. Trying to keep a bit aside for the new arrival/slow burner (shhhhh, if you know what it is!)
  25. Aye I know, standards are slipping... I'm just paying them to sort it out now, more costly in the long run, but less labour intensive given the weather, and I won't get billed for the retest. I'll sort out the advisories and the slight corrosion that's creeping in.
