  1. So my handbrake had been beginning to go sticky like that stupid soft-touch plastic/rubber composite they put on those MP3 players which resulted in it melting and sticking to anything and everything. To remedy such a thing, I purchased this leather handbrake cover thingy. It matches the gearstick gaiter too! The leather was a wee bit squint but I've fixed that when finishing it off before leaving the car. The car is due a thorough interior clean soon because as you can see, it's absolutely disgusting inside. I may clean it this afternoon.
  2. Sounds like a good system. My local MOT station (plus a 10 mile round trip since I outlined above why I don't use the one in my village) is also our independent garage that has kept our various cars running since it opened. I've never had an issue with taking the Fabia up there for work to be carried out (wheel bearings, sensors etc.), and it's nearly MOT time for mine since it expires in February so I'll report back with that no doubt in the Mk1 Fabia Section should anything go wrong.
  3. Agreed. If the Roomster failed for no apparent reason then you'd be best taking your business elsewhere (to the OP). Perhaps to a garage less likely to take money off you for unnecessary works. We had such an issue with our Toyota Auris with a local independent garage, failing it for brake discs and pads - which were in reasonable condition. We took it to another independent who passed it first time. Never went back to the first independent, even if it means I have to travel further to one that's outside of my village then I'm happy since I know I'm probably not being robbed blind for work that's unnecessary.
  4. Yes. Such a thing can be bought from a local car parts store or from online for a reasonable price. As to the sensor, I'll leave that to someone with more knowledge and/or experience to provide assistance in that field.
  5. As Sepulchrave says, it's more likely to be the battery. Measure it, and you can rule it out or fix your fault without throwing money or sensors at the car. Edit - just double check the battery. Secondly, check the car with a code reader to get some idea of further faults. I will mention that the PAS tends to start a screaming match if your ground connector between the wing and the battery isn't making good connection.
  6. Hello and welcome to Briskoda!
  7. I'm quite convinced that it's going to outlive all of us. Like a cockroach after a nuclear blast almost.
  8. Always look at the reg plate of your Fabia and think it's someone shouting to their mate. Obviously the "01" looks like "OI", and the MO could be someone called Mo, so you can get where I'm coming from...
  9. Aye, that's the image I was trying to find from the thread. Cheers Lee!
  10. In other words, one hell of a smack then?
  11. 1. Unsure. Mine does similar, however. 2. There's a resistor that controls fan speed, that could be faulty. See video below. 3. The issue with the window could be a faulty window regulator. Hence the dropping of the window. You may also have bad connections, corroded wires, faulty CAN-BUS related things, or something to that degree. I am unsure however. Good luck.
  12. Hello and welcome to Briskoda! You've garnered up quite a list of Skodas there.
  13. Good evening and welcome to Briskoda! Hope you're enjoying your Fabia.
  14. Front right. Very true.
  15. That's my most convincing reason for trying to talk my Grandad into an SDI. @Stewartasb has hit the nail on the head though. You'd be best with a set of coilovers for the car if you want to lower it.
  16. vRSDI, 64 "sporty" horses. It's like the Fabia Sport they made but better on fuel.
  17. Best bit about living in the middle of nowhere definitely has to be the walks on your doorstep. These photos were taken during the "first" lockdown possibly in or around July. I took these in the lowest resolution possible (640x480) so that I could e-mail them to my Grampa without technological hell. So apologies for that.
  18. Couldn't be leaking in through the Plenum Chamber like it does on the Fabia? I'm not sure if there's a design on the Yeti that prevents this, but it's just a consideration. Good luck with your problem, I hope you find a solution.
  19. Sunrise interlude with the Fabia photobombing since I'm still waiting for parts.
  20. Honestly quite terrifying. However if you're really that far into stalking someone then sites that show the public version of the electoral register are good places. No, I'm not a stalker, I just took a Cyber Security course at school (first year it ran, went down like a lead balloon).
  21. Glad you've found your solution!
  22. Personal preference to make their 1.0 3-cylinder base-spec Corsa look "sporty"
  23. Will do. Been going there for years, so this'll be a change from the Sausage Supper.
