  1. Out of interest, why would you want to downgrade??? Also the ball knuckles are different for electric and manual tailgates.
  2. I think you are mistaken sorry, there is a lot more than 20, even a lot more than 200, theres more than a good few thousand L&K model mk3 superbs in the uk EDIT: 431 currently registered L&K 2.0 tsi 280bhp 4x4 models specifically
  3. I never tried that one, now i really have no idea!
  4. Always baffles me how the sportline badge is nice, fitted and clean looking. Then the L&K badge looks like something from the halfords clearance bin, they could of put so much more effort into it, made it nicer!
  5. It is a really odd one! I can only speculate but this is my understanding. (I might be completely wrong) To reduce heat output from these LEDs they dont use resistors to drop the voltage anymore, instead using switching power supplies. I assume the components used or the filtering is poor. This means the electronic interference from this constant switching heads back to the BCM and im assuming there is no input filtering to these outputs (as they werent designed to function that way) and in turn this causes the BCM to throw a tantrum. Like i said, i could be 100% wrong but this is my theory on the issues. Now why when tailgate LED lights are fitted and the glovebox is opened does it act the exact same (i dont think the glovebox turns on the tailgate lights), that is a mystery i have 0 ideas on.... maybe there is constant current monitoring flowing a very small voltage and that means its still 'active'?
  6. Take them out and report back.
  7. By any chance have you got led aftermarket tailgate bulbs? if so, take them out! Then report back to us
  8. On the newer tdi they are often air to water coolers. that is a crazy case of loading the parts canon and seeing what sticks! sounds like your only possible options are; dsg cooler oil cooler heater core EGR valve head gasket all of which can be gone through and eliminated or require further investigation like J.R said, a sniff test will eliminate egr and certain types of head gasket failure.
  9. There are 4/5 different manufacturers for the VW group glowplugs including Bosch, NGK, Beru and some more
  10. Can you show us the exact fault code youre getting? And glowplugs can last a lot more than 100k so really need to find out exactly what the issue is as it could be plugs, module, wiring etc. OEM is original equipment manufacturer meaning they are aftermarket but the same brand that make OE ones. OE is original equipment - genuine parts with the car manufacturers stamp on them. Which are you looking for?
  11. And to add to that, most actuators can’t be bought on their own, I believe they come as a complete seat base
  12. I’m assuming he means the dcc solenoids/actuators. they aren’t sensors, they are valves and magnets to control the stiffness of the ride. they aren’t cheap and £300+vat is fairly standard pricing. a lot of people fit bilstien dcc shocks b4 and b6
  13. No. the logic being - if your engine is that gummed up that it needs a additive/thinner to get the old oil out, then the least of your worries should be the oil itself and more what’s caused it, what else has it damaged and why hasn’t it been serviced on time. drop the oil, change the filter, by the time the filter change is done, 99% of the oil will have drained
  14. If this is the ea888 engine then your mechanic needs to be replaced.... They have a chain to start with The water pump is not a part of the camshaft drive system and has no bearing on it or a service interval Thermal management is the thermostat body full of valves and electronic solenoids, again this is bolted to the water pump and only needs changing if its leaking. Definitely sounds like they are having you on. *this is all on the basis its the ea888 engine. If you upload a photo of your engine we can let you know*
  15. If you want ive got a few of these I could post one to you for shipping costs + a few quid?
  16. Any and all of my local skoda charge between £15 and £25 a day for the car, even for warranty work!
  17. Yeah it’s all done over Ethernet, canbus and linbus. No MOST anymore
  18. Just cause the temp gauge goes red doesn’t mean a fault will be there. the only sure way is removing the water pump and visually inspecting it. but the garage with their tools, knowledge and knowing of the brand should be able to diagnose an over heating problem fairly quick. 95% of the time it’s the water pump with the tdi’s, the other 5% it can be a blockage, valve stuck shut or no coolant.
  19. It can be done yes. custom wiring loom required, coding to match also but it’s possible. depends how much work you want to put in or get someone else to do.
  20. You only need the new boot trim/camera and handle if you are fitting the chrome/black trim pieces. For the lamps themselves you only need custom loom, coding, lamps, new little trim pieces for in the gaps
  21. All 4 pins are populated and used, they are required. No way around that.
  22. There is a lot more to it than just wiring - I hope you are understanding that? Youll need new datasets and coding. To get the correct wiring diagrams create an account on erwin. input your vin and pay the £8 fee and download everything you can within the hour window including the full wiring for your vehicle. You will then have all the wiring diagrams to cover everything including your headlights
  23. You can’t just fit the Columbus display from a mib2.5 it won’t function correctly with most mib2 control units. you need to change the 5f module to a 565xxxxx module first. once that’s done you can just snip the locating tab off the fakra male connector and fit it. edit: you mean the connector has a broken pin, my bad. The connector is a lvds and it handles the image signal. That will be extremely awkward to strip down and repair, very small circuitry. It can be done though.
  24. Hi there, this is not a job of just plugging them in and away you go, even with the correct wiring. you will need odis at the bare minimum. on top of that you need to tell us what car you have, year, spec, if you have the lane assist camera and all of that.
  25. Welcome to the forum. Diagnosis is a hell of a lot more than reading a fault code and replacing the part that pops up first. You are more than welcome to load the parts cannon but this can start getting expensive. Youll need to start looking at turbo actuators for seizing, if the solenoid is vacuum controlled, needs checking for leaks and if it operates, vacuum pressure itself and many more things. Of course, it could very well be the N75 valve, but equally there are many more things to look at first.
