Reverse camera coding
Can you supply us a link to what you have attempted to fit, how you have fitted it and what you have messed with coding/settings wise? I personally cant stand the lowline option and even worse is the chinese highline as it intercepts and adjusted the coding automatically, wouldnt recommend fitting something that you dont know exactly what its doing. The first option suggested by @langers2k is the best and only option i would be fitting,

Odd noise behind dash on start up
Sounds more like a heavy handed mechanic gave the screen a accidental tap when working around the a pillars or dash oh well, as long as they are footing the bill. ALSO - make sure you examine the windscreen area thoroughly afterwards, make sure they havent damaged the paint or bonnet or dashboard removing the old glass.

Fails to start when facing up-hill.
He says the starter won’t even run. Which is the odd part so it’s an ignition fault rather than an engine fault is what I’m taking away from this? how often are we talking with this fault, daily, weekly etc

Not washed!
Its crazy how well these cars eat up the mileage thrown at them. And how comfortable you are whilst its doing it.

DCC Slider adjustment option mod
If you want to drop me a message we can work something out. But you shouldn’t need a bcm. Depending on year you may need a gateway but everything else is software based.

A/C vs AUTO - What's the difference?
A/c is air conditioning, not cooling. Many people think that ac is there to make the air cold. There is so much more to it than that. The ac will clean the air, cool the air, remove moisture and particles from the air, only once this is done will it then heat the air if required. so ac should be on all the time really - no reason to turn it off. auto is for temperature and direction control. ac is for conditioning the air.

glow plug control unit MK3 Superb
3 are the same, the 4th has a pressure sensor and is a hell of a lot more expensive. I do believe cylinder 1 is a standard glow plug though. Cylinder 3 has the pressure sensor. EDIT: If you can supply a vin/engine code i can tell you exactly what ones you require. Also OE fitting is Borgwarner, Hidria, NGK or Bosch

The attached photos may give you an idea of whats actually behind the dash panel to help visualize it. Happy fishing

Virtual Cockpit Retrofit with Columbus and Canton
It must be done with ODIS, when you remove component protection and run the module replacement procedure it will copy the mileage from the old cluster to the brand new one. that is of course if you’re using a new cluster

“Changing vehicle settings”
Welcome to the forum, can you provide a photo of the message? Also, remember the button in the overhead panel shaped like a spanner, press it to contact skoda support and they may be able to assist or even send someone.

Cylinder 1 Glow Plug circuit question
It used to be a simple case of glowplugs for cold starts. Nowadays with fuel so clean, glowplugs arent needed for cold starts hardly (at least in the uk) im not saying they arent used, because they are as this reduces emissions on cold starts and allows the engine to warm up quicker and reduce knock. That being said im not saying VW use it in their TDIs as im not sure, but many manufacturers do. Quote from Denso above, quote for NGK below https://www.ngkntk.com/newsroom/blog/emea/glow-plugs-the-exhaust-system-heroes-and-why-a-summer-service-is-key/ Glowplugs arent a simple item either anymore.... theyre a whole lot more complicated with PWM glowplugs and cermamic tips.

help with abs long coding
Call me a bit skeptical but should you be guessing what a car needs when it comes to brakes... Personally putting random codes given to you on the internet by random people into a module that could be the difference between life and death if it came down to it just doesnt sound like a good idea. Im not saying anyone is wrong or malicious but you dont know if any of these codes are correct for your vehicle. Personally the only way to be 100% is to do a SVM download and module recode using ODIS and the vehicles vin number. Thats just me airing on the side of caution though.

Cylinder 1 Glow Plug circuit question
Take a read of Denso's little write up on glowplugs - Not 100% if the VAG group are included in this but i have no reason to think otherwise. Same way some glowplugs are not just a 12v feed but are a variety of voltages and even PWM now to more accurately control things. https://pmfmag.co.uk/features/denso-discusses-the-role-of-glow-plugs/

How to: Retrofit Virtual Cockpit
Youll need to give more details, radio part number and software version. All the details you require are on this forum just need to be searched for, everything will be in writing somewhere

How to: Retrofit Virtual Cockpit
Depends on what radio unit you have in the car, if you have the MOST connected and a few other things.

Cylinder 1 Glow Plug circuit question
Glowplugs are critical for a newer tdi. They assist with DPF regens and without them functioning the car will refuse to regen and instead block up the DPF.

If the tailgate electrics fail, can it be closed manually?
I have seen the aftermarket ones at less than a 1/4 of the price, I do wonder about the quality as they are not even branded.

Will seats from Octavia 3 fit a Superb IV?
Although the seat 'should' physically fit as the cars are both MQB platform. The 2022 superb is MQBevo meaning things are different - this includes modules, protocols, coding and such, so although there is a strong chance it will physically fit, the electronics are not compatible.

Breakdown in France
Sounds very much like they didn’t run the bleed routine or weren’t aware of it. Needs to be done with a diagnostic tool.

MK3 Power Seats Not Working
If you’re anywhere near north London feel free to drop me a message if you want someone to look and and diagnose for you the fact you’ve checked the fuse (also check fuse listed for passenger side as sometimes things aren’t translated and left and rights get confused even if you don’t have electric passenger seat) and also checked the wiring connections is a good start. Your next port of call is either a fault memory scan or removing the seat and checking for power, ground and a canbus signal to the seat module. it could be the seat module has failed and needs looking into being replaced (this is not plug and play and will need coding and adapting)

Wind back tool for front brakes
As much as the diy method of removing the motor is ‘fine’ it’s really not. when you use a diagnostic tool it winds the caliper off fully and clears the learnt values. when you reenable the handbrake after change it doesn’t just wind it on. It monitors current draw from the motors and winds the calipers on and off multiple times, this is to allow the car to learn the new values and prevent the motor from either not tightening enough or over tightening and causing premature failure of the motor or it’s housing. Yes it happens a lot, you’ll see cracks appear around the 2 bolts holding the motor on. I personally don’t recommend using the manual windback method but everyone is entitled to do it as they wish, just it’s good to know all the facts first

Electric Tailgate not operating normally
That is a very very big jumping of the gun. there are so many possible things that could be causing it and the struts cost £500 each… why not get the fault diagnoses first to confirm if it is a tailgate strut opposed to something else and much cheaper?

Octavia Mk3 timing belt costs
Personally ‘lifetime’ is a stupid term for these belts. Baffles me. personally I would be sticking to 100,000 miles and maybe 5/6 years at most. regarding replacement costs - it’s hard to say as some vehicles have no variable timing, others have it on a single camshaft and some now have it on both. I have personally changed many of these without the official tool and just been very specific with my markings and timing and can comfortably say I’ll do them without the official stupidly priced tool. I wouldn’t charge more than £400 that’s for sure - but can’t be more specific without a reg and vin.
