  1. A lot of places will quote very low prices like this... but what are you actually getting for your money, £70 for full adjustment of front and rear is very cheap. More than likely they will adjust the front toe and call it a day.
  2. ApertureS replied to KamiqTech's topic in Škoda Kamiq
Another unrequested opinion then, i agree it looks cheap and nasty, shame that someone went to the effort of cutting a hole in the dash to fit a aftermarket pdc kit on a fairly new car, especially when they offer a factory fit retrofit kit that would look so much nicer and integrate better
  3. Remove the panel from the car completely so it has no power going to it. Strip the panel apart and clean the plastics with warm soapy water. The electronics should be cleaned with contact cleaner or pure alcohol and then rinsed with deionised water and left to dry. Put back together and it should all be good to go. Spraying contact cleaner onto it will just force the coffee into the panel and possibly onto the circuit board shorting it out.
  4. Hey there, as dealer prices go, thats fairly reasonable. Independents are generally around the £500 mark. Personally i do them for £420. This is if you are talking about the 1.6 or 2.0 TDI engine. If its a petrol, the 2.0 tsi has a chain, the 1.0/1.2/1.4/1.5 tsi are belt driven but do not require a water pump at the same time.
  5. Your first problem was trusting Halfords with your car… Wouldn’t trust them with a bulb let alone anything more. New battery will need coding properly. Steering lock to lock and also clear all related fault codes
  6. No sensor like this on the superb. the only latch sensor is located in the latch itself and it’s a small micro switch which is prone to failure a lot.
  7. You’re confusing the handbrake with the auto hold feature. Handbrake is as simple as imagine the button like your handbrake lever, up to engage, down to release, use it like you would a handbrake before. Except the car will release it for you if you tap the throttle when it gear and doors are shut and seatbelt on. Same way when you switch the car off it should reapply it automatically
  8. So lane assist, road sign recognition and auto high beam are all linked to the forward facing camera mounted in the windscreen. If your car doesn’t have the high line camera then you can’t have any of these features. side warning/blind spot is a different feature and requires radars in the rear bumper with new mirror glass also. now good news - all of this can be retrofitted with the correct knowledge, equipment and diagnostic tools. if you were interested in anything like that feel free to drop me a message on my page below and I can always advise you if there was anything you wanted
  9. Sorry to say but the user hasnt been online in over a year 😞 a reply is very unlikely
  10. Yes drl is a legal requirement No, the drl unit can’t be replaced separately from the headlight. sadly don’t have many other options if they’re diagnosis is correct, possibly look at a second hand unit? If you can find one of course
  11. I mean, as toot said above.... The last thing you will be worrying about in an accident is your doors unlocking from the outside, Windows can be broken, doors pryed open. 99% of vehicles on the road today will have this feature. There are also safety features such as auto unlocking if airbags are triggered.
  12. I have a beige one from a superb im giving away if thats any good to you? Could strip the mechanism out of it and use it possibly? (its free)
  13. Looks like a very clean install. Only thing i would add to it which is just an opinion and very picky is to replace the hardware/bolts with black ones so it blends in better
  14. Its just a EA888 Gen 4 engine no? With the IS38 turbo? Or am i missing something on the brand new stuff?
  15. Not all headlamps have the eyebrows, only SLA headlamps have them
  16. Oem is always the better way to go, much nicer than the aftermarket options. albeit a bit more expensive but can’t beat it.
  17. Especially when it looks like that module is about 250Euros....! ouch
  18. Just cause its easy doesnt mean its for joe public, just means its super easy for garages to clear it No other reason youd want to hold the SET button down really
  19. Its very simple and i can even send you pdf that is a case study on Leuchte channels. Basically find the free channel, connect the pin, set Lasttyp to general, set a bit and byte, set AB to highbeam and dimmwert to 127 and away you go...
  20. This is correct, but very very easy to do. Pull the required BCM connector, Normally C - then with a '000 979 009 E or 000 979 026 E' pin you just add it in the correct slot, run it under the dashboard and straight out into the engine bay.
  21. If they were error free, then you wouldnt have errors.... They may list them as error free but theyre clearly not removing the errors on your car, plus the ones from Halfords are rubbish. Take a look at Auxito on ebay, lots of people on here use their bulbs without issues. The only reason they would need coding is if youre fitting a different type of bulb without an error cancelling function.
  22. Looking at a MK3 with bixenons (MAY NOT BE CORRECT FOR YOUR CAR) from may 2018 onwards it is Orange/Brown Pin 2 for Can Low, Orange/Red Pin 1 for Can High. But again, it still seems massively pointless to purchase a device that has exactly what the car already has built in. In the time it takes to splice into the canbus and make the wires correctly water tight you could of ran a single wire through the bulkhead to the BCM. Also take note the wires on this circuit for canbus are NOT the vehicles canbus networks but instead are a 3 module network comprising of MX1 left headlight, MX2 right headlight and 4B Module/J745. The suggestion of a light bar with fogs was just a suggestion, you could make it come on through any number of things and go off for any number of things also.
  23. Theyre not error free then got a link to the ones you ordered?
  24. You have 2 options for the front side lights. Either look for the correct Leuchte channel in the bcm and change Lasttyp to '43 - Allgemein LED' which will allow for any LED. Or just fit error free 'canbus canncelling' LED bulbs.
  25. 1. Why arent you going back to the seller - If youre in the UK you have a years warranty on purchases minimum (although technically after 6 months you have to prove the fault was already there when you purchased the goods) 2. Why are you only looking at a Skoda main agent and not a independent gearbox specialist that probably has more knowledge that the main dealer and could possibly offer a repair option. 3. The Clutch 1 position sensor is an odd one and doesnt make much sense as these clutches are hydraulically controlled so dont really have position sensors as such, a better more specific code reader could help. 4. Contribution from a main dealer will probably be £0, they generally only offer this for long time customers with a track record of using a main agent.
