Air conditioning stops working after 100km driving
House AC systems never move and generally stay within a small temperature range. Whereas a car ranges from -10 up to well over 100 degrees. Cars have a lot more vibrations and rubber hoses which as much as they are 99% air tight, there is always a tiny leakage through rubber. That being said its not 'normal' to keep refilling a car AC system, maybe every 5/6 years or so is a safe number at maximum but it seems a lot of garages are completely incapable of working with AC systems let alone diagnosing and finding a leak, they all seem to think pressing the big green button on their machine after a leak test means the car is air tight when 99% of the time, its not.

Front bumper part number
I know its just your wording of making a hole but i really hate it when a garage/bodyshop use a hole saw or drill or step drill to cut pdc holes. They never cut perfectly and always leave a roughish edge. When they use the proper press on the other hand that forces the plastic out, it leaves a nice tapered edge and prevents any paint peeling, its such a small difference but to me it makes a massive difference in quality

Window rubber moves and lifts chrome tailgate strip.

Front bumper part number
There will be up to 6 variants. With washers With washers: With Parking Sensors With washers: With Parking Sensors: With park assist sensors without washers: With parking Sensors without washers: With parking sensors: With park assist sensors I believe the bumpers may not always come cut for the sensors and you will also require the parking sensor brackets to be replaced or taken from the old bumper. A bodyshop should be able to cut the sensor holes easily enough though

Silica bag removed
The only coolant that should be used is G13 and G12evo. These are all that are suitable for the newer systems - Just because coolant is pink doesnt mean its suitable anymore

Glow plug and engine fault codes - Error two?
My bad I thought i was in the newer octavia forum! You are correct, only 4 cheap glowplugs - nice and easy to change if you know how not to snap them lol

Do I need to service the air-conditioning to keep my warranty?
Just so youre aware, when you adjust the interior cabin temperature, the air con evaporator will still be at a just above freezing temperature. Even if the heater was on max heat as long as the air con is turned on, it will be running to maintain that cold evaporator core. With my car the air con is on all the time and from the records i have, cant see a regas in the 5 years its been a car

Glow plug and engine fault codes - Error two?
All depends which glow plug. Most are around £10-15 yes, but if its the single glow plug with built in pressure sensor, well thats near enough £200.

Glow plug and engine fault codes - Error two?
Sorry to say but something is either lost in translation or he doesnt know what hes doing. Unless hes saying glow plug 2 is faulty? an error code is not a single number - its between 5-8 characters with a description also. And suggesting you keep an eye on a fault is an odd one? If a glowplug has failed its relatively easy to diagnose with a ohmmeter and still fairly easy to change. So I dont get a word of what hes said or why he has said to leave it?

With fuel prices being so high…….
Ask them to match the fuel in the tank to the new car like for like, only fair!

Do I need to service the air-conditioning to keep my warranty?
AC Service is a con. Simple as that. Your air con system may lose a small amount of gas over time - very small amount - as in 10g out of the 500g over a year. Not enough to cause issues for a good few years to come. Say you go for a AC service, all they are doing is sucking the gas out, refilling it to the correct level with a small amount of oil added and kicking it out the door. No pollen filter change, no anti bacterial bomb. Say you have 400g of gas in your system and its working just fine, theyre taking your 400, giving you back 500g. They are charging you £140 to simply add 100g of gas to your car although the system was working. Keep in mind I have someone that comes to me and will fill a system from 0g up to 800g of gas for £100. Basically AC servicing is the next thing after carbon cleans after nitrogen for your tyres It all takes money out your pocket and gives you a placebo feeling in return.

Rear discs replacment
When the disc slides out with literally a thou of space either side its a beautiful feeling. Normally they are slightly rusty and require a bit of persuasion just to break the rust free.

What Specs?
The spec sheet wont tell you Columbus or such, will most likely go by MIB1/2/2.5/3 depending on what year superb youre looking at will decide whats possible. You have to pay £8 for a 1 hour session on erwin and this will supply all you need if youre quick. If you have a full glass screen with touch screen buttons on it, that will be Columbus.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
The price of the oil doesnt really make it that much more for the dealer to do it. (if using genuine parts) The dealer is subsidized for the work so they dont make much at all on it themselves.

2022 Octavia reverse camera option
They need to be an approved repaired using ODIS - no other software will do it. But to be honest, ETKA doesnt even list a genuine reverse camera retrofit for the 2022 yet so you may have to wait a few months.

2022 Octavia reverse camera option
This is definitely not the case, when you correctly using main dealer software code the camera using whats called an SVM code it sends the signal to the main vw servers, your complete file they hold for your car is modified to show a reverse camera. At this point anything further will know no different than 'reverse camera fitted' so everything should be okay. Now if its done without the main dealer tool there is a good chance this could happen. Dear lord no! This is a terrible idea, theyre proposing pulling apart a perfectly good car to fit a cheap ****ty reverse camera, get them to order the genuine retrofit kit, fit it, code it and be done with it. Fully oem that way. There is many plug and play knock of versions that are fairly low quality, Mk4 is different to mk3 in many ways including MIB3 radio, ethernet signal transmission and tighter module security.

Thoughts on this Superb 280?
Just in the rear, but front was an optional extra so could be retrofitted - its not terribly expensive either. the 2.0 tsi is chain driven so no belt is needed.

Aftermarket towbar
Aftermarket including fitting, vehicle specific wiring and coding and all parts will set you back about £700 westfalia kit so far from bad quality too. I’m not denying that factory is nice, but aftermarket is still an option and not a bank breaking one at that. and even if you were using a tow bar for a cycle carrier without any train weight, I believe it’s still illegal as the vehicle wasn’t ‘designed’ and signed off to carry any load bearing system.
-
Aftermarket towbar
This is also the same for Superb's and a lot of people are getting caught out as the V5 and vin plate have no train weights so its illegal to tow with.
-
Aftermarket towbar
Aftermarket tow bar with oem wiring is roughly £500 When I priced up a OE tow bar with OE wiring it is around £900 Thats just for parts. Its almost double the price
