Water leak 2017 Superb 280 Tsi
If the dealership is unable to find it and needs the car for multiple days, how are we meant to find it via the internet? Common places for water leaks are anywhere with an opening, door seals, windows, floor plugs, scuttle panels, boot seals, shark fin. There are so many possible options that unless its not the obvious one of sun roof drains blocked, youre better off leaving it at a garage to fix it or at least find it.

Two services for £79
Its fairly easy to tell when a car sales man is lying.... their lips are moving. This is the way car servicing works now - essential is literally an oil and filter change. Everything else is 'recommended' meaning if skoda want to offer you a deal or sell you a car, they only recommend its done and you have to pay yourself. Whereas when it comes to you trading your car in or making a warranty claim, all recommended service items MUST of been carried out. Its not specific to skoda/vw group. All brands do it now just to pass more costs on to the owner.

Storage Compartment - Open Warning
The circuit to do with the microswitch is a dumb circuit - power to the switch, switch controls bulb, ground. Nothing special and no bcm control or way for the car to know if the glovebox is open.

I can 100% tell you what youve done. Recently by any chance have you replaced the tailgate lights with LED versions by any chance or any other car bulb with a LED variant? And does the same thing happen when you turn on the drivers interior lamp?

Unlocking a car without a key - is this real?
You could also stick a blade down the osr door jam in the rear door/rear light area, cut through the loom, give it a good wiggle to short it out and it would unlock the van. Paired with a can of expanding foam up the wheel arch to muffle the alarm and you had free access to the contents. Done a fair few repair jobs for this issue. Another one on Range Rover was to smash the wing mirror glass off, short out the keyless entry aeriel and it would fail safe and unlock the vehicle. So many stupid ways in on new cars. That being said, this video is a load of rubbish.

Faulty fuel level needle?
On ETKA i cant even find a PR code or part option for a larger fuel tank - Not just for UK but Europe in general. Maybe not an EU option or maybe not an option at all?

What's the right fuel filter...
2.0 fuel filter for DFGA between 06.02.17 - 11.03.19 is 5Q0127177B - this part number has since been superseded to 5Q0127177D which is the same as for 11.03.19 onwards. 5Q0127177 is for pre 06.02.17 vehicles with the 1.6 or 2.0 engine. So yes, dealer is correct and ending in either B or D is correct (mainly D)

Sadly no other glass fits. it has to be specific. regarding which glass and if you’re not fussed about the dimming function I have a non dimming one that has heated and blind spot for Sale on eBay for £40. I only have the OS/right side left

Air quality sensor replacement
You need to find yourself a new mechanic that is competent and is able to diagnose a fault rather than look at a fault code and replace the part it mentions. The air quality sensor is exactly that, it allows the car to automatically control air re-circulation. If a highly contaminated atmosphere is detected it turns on recirc, simple as that. Yes they are common to fail, No you would never notice a difference if it was working or not. And 100% NO it is not the cause of the air conditioning not working. Sorry for being incredibly blunt with you (not about you) but as a diagnostic mechanic myself I am sick of seeing shoddy work carried out by others that rips people off and even worse doesnt fix the issues. Ive had many customers come to me after garages have charged them huge sums of money to not fix the issue and then end up coming to me to get it fixed properly. I hope this starts to point you in the right direction and welcome to the forum

Well that sorted the wing mirror problem
There’s a sad trend recently of mirror glasses being stolen, sadly no better way of securing them. as the cost of them goes up they are an easy target and lots of people are having theirs stolen or they attempt to and just smash the glass and run.

Well that sorted the wing mirror problem
The 'clear plastic longitudinal light lens' is an indicator, simply needs a new one of those and it comes as a complete indicator, not just a lens. Regarding the glass - I very much hope you got the other drivers details - A self dimming mirror glass which most are, will set you back over £300. There are a few variants also relating to blind spot assist, dimming, heated.

Websites options to do a detailed VIN look up??
erwin is the offical site - costs £7 for 1 hour to get a decent bit of data. Or the skoda connect app has some stuff once you link the car to it.

Audi TT Seats
Sounds about right for some cars that people build.... I got half way through a 1986 mk2 polo and fitting and complete roll cage (front struts all the way to rear attaching at 16 points) and it got about half way through fitting the cage and every weld would blow through, not because of welding, the metal was so deteriorated and rusting away that the cage had nowhere to mount safely, in the end i sold the cage and turned the car into a small cube as it was simply not safe and I wasnt going to put me or my partner in it. Whereas a lot of people would simply cover up the work with some pretty filler or carpet and call it a day until they crash. Might be wrong but it looks like the lower crotch strap is still in the first photo, saying to me that it was physically attached to the seat... not the car. No wonder the seat ripped out, for anyone taking notes - the harness/belt is attached to the car frame so that when you crash and your entire body weight hits that seat belt, the car supports that belt and you and the seat may move but as youre now against the seat belt, the seat itself will only have to support its own weight. Whereas when you attach your harness to the seat itself, when you go forward and fully load up the seat belts, youre loading up the entire seat with that force and weight, nothing is gonna stop that seat, you and the belt from simply being ejected as a single entity with nothing attaching you to the car except 4 relatively small bolts.

Audi TT Seats
Must of been quite the crash. Hard to see with a low res picture but looks to me like he had it setup with a bucket seat, side mounts bolted to seat base adapters. Cant see too much but looks like the seat base adapters are hardly misshapen and definitely not sheared, looks like the wrong either strength, length or type of bolt was used to mount the seat bases to the vehicle and its snapped off. Sad to see and it would be very interesting to know what they put the cause of this seat being ejected was. Youd also hope that with this type of seat youd have correctly mounted multi point harnesses which should of still contained the seat within the car, probably using standard seat belts with aftermarket seats, or even worse would be mount the harnesses directly to the seat!!

Rear Brake caliper tool.
Rewind tools have been common place of rear brakes with integrated hand brakes for the last 30 years or so, The cheapest version of the tool is the one linked below, its a pain to use but places like halfords or eurocarparts will have it on the shelf. https://www.joom.com/en/products/6184a104a0c9f301c7e6a90c

What is this called please
Its a vacuum solenoid, normally housed in a piece of rubber to mount to something. Rubber has probably fallen away so someone has cable tied it in place.

Retrofit new style steering wheel to Superb MK3
I believe you will need a new gateway and steering wheel control module at the very least. These new steering wheels have a different button setup on them so I dont believe they are a direct fit.

Potential 2016 SE-L buyer - a few questions
We’re unable to say if it’s got lane assist as it was an extra at that point. A photo of the windscreen will tell us if it can be added or if it already has it. a CD player will be in the glovebox yes and only capable of a single cd. Out of interest why go for cd’s when you can have USB’s and other better storage devices now? the common fault list isn’t long but the tdi has a 5 year life span on the timing belt and the water pumps are prone to leaking or the internal pump shroud seizing. if it’s a dsg or 4x4 make sure it’s been serviced correctly.

Drivers side window switches
The wiring in doors isn’t nearly as much a problem on mk3 as older versions. also how would a broken wire cause a physically loose button? the bottom of the switch pack has most likely fallen out meaning all the switches will of gone limp. Change the switch pack
-
Drivers side window switches
That will be a fairly straight forward diagnosis - The switch pack has failed and needs replacing. No coding or anything needed so just plug and play a new or second hand part. If you have a decent trim removal tool you can even do it without removing the door card
