  1. I wouldnt say thats a security issue. And it seems like thats more than likely they havent coded the kessy correctly. The immobilizer is programmed correctly but not the kessy module to recognize the key.
  2. Paint technology is amazing now They have managed to make paint just a few microns thick saving both time, money and weight. but on the other hand extremely thin paint gives no room for error or even stone chips before it goes straight through.
  3. Keep your posts to the other thread and I’ll assist you where I can. saves having 2 threads going and things getting confusing
  4. You can’t just swap the unit and expect it to work. and you definitely can’t just swap it to a completely different part number. there’s a lot of coding and swap codes that need doing. where are you based? And why was the mmi unit replaced?
  5. Another case of garage sees a fault code and just replaces parts. when will these parts changers (I won’t call them mechanics) learn that just because there’s a fault code for part X doesn’t mean part X is the fault. if a lambda sensor gives a fault saying o2 sensor bank 1 - mixture rich you don’t go and change the o2 sensor on bank 1 do you... you look further into it and find the cause. sorry that you’ve been stung once by a dodgy seller and again by a ****ty garage. you’re gonna need a higher end code reader to start on this journey of fault finding and then you’ll have to go from there.
  6. If you dont have a sd card slot then your car has OTA which is over the air updates. No need to manually update it with a usb stick.
  7. Correct, all they are is a fan blowing cabin air, my wondering is, when the blowers are on, possibly the car diverts a bit more air to the rear foot wells to blow cooler air through the seats possibly? May explain why he can hear a fast fan speed but not feel it anywhere? Just a punt
  8. The heating on these is controlled by electric motors and just turning the heating on won’t always do it. just because the coolant is 6 years old doesn’t mean it will need changing - i would look into what the life of the coolant is and I believe it’s up to 10 years. I would also hope that your water pump and cambelt has been done in this time meaning a coolant change would of been done at the same time
  9. What have you done to the car in terms of modifications? Is that the standard radio? Have you changed any settings with a diagnostic tool?
  10. Have you checked your weight plate to see if it’s capable and legal to tow? it’s all well and good fitting a tow bar but if your car isn’t marked for towing you risk a lot. also, has your car got tow bar prep and are they fitting a genuine tow bar, aftermarket integrated or universal? all of these will make a big difference. personally with it being an iv and the motor making a different i would only ever fit genuine as towing devices being plugged in will effect the engine/motor running
  11. Out of interest what are you using for an aux input that can’t be done via usb? get the benefit of powering/charging that device too then
  12. The automatic feature is for xenon headlamps. As yours has halogen you will need to fit stickers to them sorry.
  13. There are about 3 motors in each door lock, all doing different things. Chances are one of the motors has failed as usual: if you put your ear to the door then lock it; it will sound really rough and grating almost. Will need a new door latch
  14. I have a 2.0 220 on long motorway journeys with 3/4 people and a lot of gear in the back sitting at 56mph I can get 50mpg on my now usual commute of 3 miles I get 28mpg maximum hope these help you. both of which I’d say are really good mpg for the size of the car
  15. Yeah it’s all an integrated system in the 5F infotainment system. what issues are you having?
  16. Just sounds like bad luck to be honest. if you were to tell us cracks kept appearing from the edges without any impact damage I’d say there may be rust on the underside of the bonding surface but as there’s impact marks, just bad luck really, sorry
  17. Out of interest why is it you want to change the coolant? and pulling the bottom radiator hose off is more than suitable to drain the system. Unless it needs flushing then it’s a little more involved. really it should be bled with the diagnostic computer so that the pumps can be ran correctly on the high and low circuits else you risk overheating issues - this is the proper way of doing it, doesn’t mean it’s the only way though
  18. Right hand scroll wheel is a common one - needs taking apart and the sensor cleaning wooshing tank - normal, fuel vapours can’t be vented to atmosphere anymore so the engine vacuum will pull a small tank vacuum other than these small issues - hope you enjoy the car, they are pretty good on the reliability front.
  19. Electronic tailgate is disabled
  20. I went for the G4 pro, works perfectly in the night too, only issue is spiders must be attracted to the IR lights and build their webs across the lens. Good phone app with good functionality. They arent the cheapest of cameras thats for sure but they do a brilliant job.
  21. Ive had a version 2 ring door bell for about 4 years now. Its now £35 a year on top of the cost. And the quality is terrible now, camera is clearly damaged, coating on the bell is peeling off, just general quality of it is very very low i would say. Got a ubiquiti 4k camera now so dont need the door bell camera and the ubiquiti quality is amazing.
  22. Microswitch in handle would of failed. If you message me ive got some spare handles for sale
  23. Guessing you mean the wheel centre cap metal rings? They dont have their own part number, you can get the centre cap as a single piece and thats it
  24. It must be putting out a fair amount of EMF to interfere with the DAB, but that being said, these cars are extremely susceptible to interference and even with high end cameras it has the same issue.
  25. Yeah definitely the factory fitted integrated tow bar. The handle in the boot is there to release the lock whether in the out or in position. Green light to let you know its locked. Comes with a few other features when plugged in like pdc disable, abs stability control, alarm goes off if disconnected when locked.
