Hello from S Wales
Welcome! Also a first time Škoda buyer waiting on a Karoq. Getting a spare wheel was one of the bargaining chips we used to seal the deal and place the order, I can’t emphasise enough how much I hate that stupid gel/foam nonsense supplied these days in lieu of an actual spare 😆

New owner- help
Thanks for the clarification, glad I wasn’t imagining it! I haven’t even got my Škoda yet but I’ve read so much stuff on here these last few weeks about things that could possibly affect my vehicle. (A Karoq when I finally get it…)

Best or Favourite Cars You've Owned/Driven
I do miss it on the admittedly few times we get snow, it was great to go out and ‘play’. I remember going out one year for a drive in the snow across Cannock Chase and a couple in a Mazda something-or-other flagged me down asking if I could tow them out of a drainage ditch at the side of the road. I asked them why they thought I had a tow strop and they said “you drive a Defender, of course you’ll have a tow rope” 😂

New owner- help
I may be completely wrong and I can’t find the relevant thread now but I’m sure I’ve read on here somewhere that when setting up Connect for the first time you have to have both key fobs in the car?

Best or Favourite Cars You've Owned/Driven
Yeah the price of them now is horrific! I had a 90 for a few years in between having the two 110’s, the 90 was great fun, especially off road or greenlaning but the 110 was the far more practical of the two. I fitted a GKN overdrive to my first 110 and that transformed the ride comfort on longer drives.

For all of their, let’s call them ‘characteristics’ 🤭, I always loved my Defender(s), this one was my third and last one somewhere along the Old Coach Road in Cumbria on New Years Day 2009.

Anyone know what these are?
@Penpusher Thanks for the reply. Good to hear a real use case as I was contemplating getting some as we do several lengthy road trips a year and anything that makes the sometimes tedious motorway sections more bearable has got to be a bonus.

Anyone know what these are?
Thread resurrection! Having just seen these on a parts website and then curiously Googling what they are and is there any point to them the trail led me back here. So…not too much love for them either way in the previous posts so I was wondering if since the last post anyone has actually found out if they are genuinely useful or not, has anyone used them for the intended purpose? Are they big/tall enough to be of any actual benefit to passengers on longish journeys?

Windscreen Wash
I’ve been using Unipart ‘All Season’ screenwash concentrate at a 50:50 mix successfully for several years now. It does seem to be more difficult to track down though these days. Halfords concentrate isn’t too bad either at the same dilution although it is a few quid more when bought in the same quantity. (5L)

Hi
Welcome! Looking forward to getting mine early next year, what colour did you go for?

8” Virtual Cockpit
Has anyone here got a face-lifted Karoq with the standard 8” virtual cockpit as opposed to the optional 10.25” virtual cockpit? The reason I ask is when I ordered my Karoq the salesman told me all 23 MY models are supplied as standard with the virtual cockpit however, up until now I somehow missed/didn’t realise that this means an 8” display and not the 10.25” display which is part of the Amundsen+ Pack. The Karoq I test drove had the larger display so I assumed, possibly mistakenly, that the vehicle I was ordering had the same. My question is does the 8” version allow you to display virtual dials (speedometer and/or rev gauge) rather than a digits only MPH as the only photos I can find of the 8” display all show a numerical speedometer as per the example photos attached below? I've rang the dealer but they “don’t know for sure” which doesn’t exactly instil me with confidence. The car will be a Sport Line 1.5 manual if that makes a difference, thanks.

That’s good to hear 😁 Must admit I’m fed up of waiting for it already 😂

Rang the dealer today to see there had been any movement on my order, apparently the factory have accepted the order and will hopefully start the build on or around the 16th of January with a possible delivery date to the dealer towards the end of February.

Almost a month in and I’ve succumbed to a Freedom membership, you don’t seem like a bad bunch so far…😉😂

Enjoying a section of the SWC path in glorious weather just a couple of short months back. Looking along Perran Sands towards Perranporth.

It’s looks like now would be a good time to order a new Karoq, spot the typo… This is currently on the Škoda (UK) website.

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
Completely agree that they look better without the trims. I’m not sure yet what size the centre cap is or even if it’s a universal size across different alloys. Have you noticed any rubbing/damage to the lacquer from having the inserts fitted?
