Yep, my wife has a Karoq and I have a Kamiq, both in the FOC Blue. Never seen the point of paying for paint!
  2. Ah, didn't realise it goes away on its own! Thanks
  3. How do you manage to do it with 2? I need 3 ...
  4. I know the feeling but in my mind there isn't any comparison. I plan all my routes etc in BaseCamp on my PC and send them to my Garmin, plus having the ability to easily create routes etc directly on my Garmin when mounted in the car. Android Auto etc just doesn't cut it, at least not for me.
  5. I still run my Garmin for that very reason

Incidentally I didn't mean to imply you were a bad driver. Every one is capable of improvement though. Even the Chief Instructor when I was teaching blue light driving made the occasional mistake, and his driving was exemplary.

Not sure my advanced courses, including blue light training, were lacking. Fact is you should always be aware of other vehicles around you, indicating doesn't exempt you from checking that it's safe to change lanes.

You probably haven't undertaken any form of advanced driver training. There shouldn't be a driver you haven't seen. In the case you mention a shoulder check before you change lanes would confirm whether it's clear to move across or not.

    That too
  10. One switch to turn off Lane Assist like there is for Stop/start
  11. sussamb replied to a post in a topic in Škoda Kamiq
True, but those are simply bad drivers.

I turn mine off, and Start/Stop, as a matter of routine when I drive off. I don't want even a slight tug on the steering wheel when I'm driving. As for indicating when changing lanes, you should only be doing so if another road user may benefit, otherwise it's pointless. After an overtake an indicate that you're pulling back into your original lane may or may not be needed.
  13. Our Karoq is a 2018 model, no issues

Thanks, shame that information isn't in the printed manual!

Anyone know what these symbols mean? Can't find any reference to them in the manual?
  16. My first automatic in a long while, only other one was when I was in the US for 2 years. Completely different now in that it's not like older autos, it's basically a manual box with an electronic clutch, and you can select the manual mode if you wish, so it's just like driving a manual but with no clutch.
  17. My 1.5 with DSG gives way better mpg than my wife's Karoq with a manual box, very impressive.
  18. Nothing really not to like. You can simply be lazy and set it to auto or use the manual mode, you're then effectively driving a manual car with no clutch to worry about.
  19. Fair enough 😁 Was explained to me by my dealer, it's also in the manual. He even showed me where to clip in the petrol cap when refuelling rather than letting in dangle!
  20. Well it seems right to me. I drove numerous blue light vehicles with the manual side set up that way and found it fine, even when at plus 100mph speeds.
  21. Torque steer is common on many cars, I remember driving a Ford Fiesta XR2 many years ago, it was dreadful. With front wheel drive it's something you just have to be aware of, easy enough to deal with.
  22. Why counter intuitive? Up to change up, down to change down?
  23. Yep, I have one, DSG is excellent, can be used as an auto or manual
  24. Thanks, now have some new horns, just need some time to fit them 😁
  25. @lastgasp that's great, thank you.
