  1. I made them out of MDF. I spray painted them black. Nothing special.
  2. After finding out that the foam somehow spoils the sound quality, I proceeded to the 2nd plan. I removed the speakers, put in rivet nuts and made a 10mm spacer. I also change the polarity. I didn't install the door panels, but the sound is much better, the bass appeared and the treble sounds clear. Today I will complete the installation and update on the final result.
  3. @Rainesh grate news. Thanks, we are looking forward for this file.
  4. Τhis is a possible explanation, thanks. I will "free" and the other speaker (remove the foam) and i will see the results.
  5. this is photo of my car right now, 😁
  6. Thanks for the suggestion. I did that without any luck, unfortunately. Well, yesterday i removed the passenger's door panel. Immediately the sound improved. I removed the foam from the speaker. Then i did some tests with the wire polarity, I changed the polarity and checked the speaker membrane moves out in the deep bass. I couldn't figure it out for sure, I left it with the change I made and plan to use the car for a day or two without the passenger's door panel. For sure the sound improved, the treble is mostly heard to a satisfactory degree. And all this just from the changes I made to one door. The driver's door remains as it was. When I finish testing, I'll make the changes to this one as well. I can say that, for sure, the foam made some kind of contact with the speaker and was spoiling the sound effect. I don't know why this created a problem in the treble as well (maybe it's the change in polarity that helped with this).
  7. I appreciate your comments. I will open the card door for both of the front doors, to check the speakers. I will try to reverse polarity to see if there is any change at the quality of the sound. I will also check the foam around the speaker, maybe it is pressed enough and flattens part of the membrane of the speaker. I hear music from both speakers, but it's not loud and definitely not clear (detailed).
  8. Hello, I got electricity from the module of every door. I connected each light submodule to the constant current of the door module.
  9. It's strange this matter with the "reverse" polarity. Yesterday i did some tests, i changed the polarity of the tweeters without any change to the sound quality. I even putted the original tweeters. I didn't understood any change at the sound quality or at the sound volume. I have to check the mid range speakers, at the door. I wondering if there is a chance that the FOCAL speaker set is not original and the quality was poor.
  10. Very interesting. If you like you can add some notes to that thread.
  11. I connected the cables exactly as they were. I didn't check the polarity on the tweeters, I didn't think there would be a problem, so i didn't have any photos. I should check the connections and reverse the polarity on the mid range speakers just to test the sound quality. I have to undo the door panels, i am not like it.
  12. After 3 days and almost 6 hours of operation I can say that I am disappointed with the sound result. The treble has almost disappeared and the sound in general is dull, without any tone quality or resolution. Something definitely went wrong. I don't know if it has to do with the polarity of the speakers or my installation.
  13. Glad το help. Tell us about the tweeters you change. I am very interesting about.
  14. Just 3 clips. The upper 2 are 2 steps-clips. The 3rd is just a simple clip. It is very useful to have plastic trim removal tools.
  15. Ι did this job last week. I follow exactly the instruction of this video and i succeeded. This is a picture after the removal of the plastic trim. I made this to help you. You have to pull the plastic trim in order to release the first 2 clips. The trim will step away about a centimeter or 2. This will allow you to have better access
  16. Take a look at this video. 15:40 We need to be careful, i recently did the same think. Just be patient.
  17. I was faced with a strange situation. The subject of the speaker's positive and negative pole. In the photo 1 is the electrical diagram, in the photo is the actual situation. Photo 1 Photo2 it looks like there is a reverse connection from the factory. Unless the pole marking on the speaker is wrong. (it isn't i tested it) I can't figure out what's going on.
  18. Finally i made the installation. the process is straightforward. For the mid-bass range speakers the only matter is the connector. I bought 2 connectors with 4 pins to make the installation easy. I removed the pins from the original connector and i istalled them in the new one. The new connector in its place: And some sound insulation Finally, I put a soft material around the speaker to fill the gap between the speaker and the door cover. I still have no idea about the performance of the speakers. I'll work on them for a few days and then come back.
  19. I hope this is helpful.
  20. "Laptimer: Control unit 17 -long coding- lapcounter set to active or on, other activation: Control unit 17 - adaption- configuration of displayable contents -set lapcounter-active Control unit 17 - adaption- personalization- display_laptimer to active" Those are for a digital dashboard, aren't they? I don't have it so I can't test it.
  21. Did you manage to do any other changes ? This is for a digital dashboard, isn't it? I don't have it so I can't test it.
  22. No there are two different codes. Please see No7 and No(7). One is for the left and the other is for the right side
  23. You know about SFD lock right? Are you familiar with this?
