  1. Dada is 150 and dpca normal turbo, just electric actuator
  2. Both the dada and dpca are not vnt/vgt turbo. It's only the newer ones and lower powered have them.
  3. Just an update, I have put the original wheels back on the vehicle and mpg has improved but not as much as I hoped. Must put it down the the freezing weather at the minute. I have seen a few misfires looking at live data but I don't know if this is normal on a cold engine.
  4. I usually use the Esso premium stuff, I'll try Tesco see how that is. Keep tank between 1/2 and 1/4 as I don't do many miles maybe 5 to work. I'll also check on the miles to work too.
  5. I appreciate the climate is a lot colder recently getting into single digits in the north east. I always use the vpower, ultimate fuels etc. Think I'm going to put the old wheels back on next week and see what happens.
  6. Hi and welcome, I hope you bought a good one 😉
  7. You mean the anti roll bar links right? Or the wishbones? The old golf 5 had cast wishbones then they went onto pressed steel for cheapness.
  8. Yes they are very weak, I have changed both shockers and bushes on 2 year old cars.
  9. You could maybe find a bumper from a model that has the fog lamps in and wire them up with the rear fog lamp. As for the wheels, fitting larger wheels with smaller profile tyres will reduce body roll. If you want to reduce it further you can fit coil over kit or lowered springs, these can ruin the ride though so take that into account. As for the auto/drl lights sometimes you can buy the bumper grille with both fog lamp and drl built in.
  10. Thanks for the replies, the fuel economy seems miles off from what it was on the old wheels, say 10 mpg on my commute to work.
  11. Sorry it was using diagnostic equipment, you will probably find your car hasn't had an oil change yet and it's on the flexible interval.
  12. Yes there was low, good and quality.
  13. Hello can anyone help me with adjusting the mpg calculation on MK3 Octavia 2020? I've fitted larger wheels which I believe the car is going slower than it thinks affecting the readout on instrument panel.
  14. Boiling water from a kettle also cleans up brake dust well, virtually free and less chance of breathing it in 👍
  15. Did the old one have mit silkat printed on or look any different?
  16. Funnily enough I had a problem trying to reset my oil service reminder, it was stuck to 4700 miles/180 days. Tried a few times with diag tool and instruments but it didn't work. Had to dig a bit deeper and it appears someone had set the oil quality to low. Set it to flexible now it won't come on again for another 18000 miles/720 days.
  17. Cheers I got some yellow stuff pads in the back and the dust is crazy
  18. I've fitted 18x8.5 et46 with 225/40/18 tyres. Ride is good, a little more noise on rough roads coming from the 205/55/16, but I doubt you will notice it in your car. Tyres look slightly stretched so if you can't park/want some protection for wheels go for a 235 tyre maybe.
  19. I have some strange sort of flat spots in mine, I think it has the the power but it is delivered smoothly so it doesn't feel as fast.
  20. You just pull the sensor out and fit it to the correct pad.
  21. Silicone spray on the cap and bottle, falls off like magic.
  22. Could have damaged the reluctor ring on the bearing, check that and the gap between that and the sensor too. Also sometimes have to remove all corrosion from where the sensor sits as the gap can get too large and cause problems
  23. The newer models have a revised bush with a thicker ferrule, which seems to wear worse than the old type.
