  1. 30 seems a bit expensive for the bush only, you can use a hammer to do it or a vice if you know what your doing.
  2. The serrated ones are usually on the higher end/power cars. I'd just put in what came out.
  3. Common problem, needs new belt and coding
  4. Looks like the MOT tester doesn't know what he's doing.
  5. Some brake pads have metal wear indicators so that when the pads become excessively worn the metal indicator touches the disc making a squealing sound. Other pads may have a cut, which if worn away indicates that the pad must be replaced. An illuminated brake wear indicator is not a reason for failure!

  7. Depends if it's the inspection or oil service, I think you need diagnostic equipment to do the inspection one.
  8. They are different bolts, the serrations are on the underside of the built in "washer"
  9. Could find you have an earth wire with bad connection.
  10. I'm sure you'll have no problems doing it. Just make sure you have a full day aside, start it early and take your time.
  11. There was a problem with the dmf so vag converted them back to smf. Probably caught some wiring or crankshaft sensor when installing.
  12. I found the 1.4 TSI non act nicer to drive, I have 2020 1.5.tsi just feels very boring and uninspiring. Economy is very random too sometimes 38 and then others over 60mpg.
  13. It's going to overheat if you take the cap off when hot. The system is under pressure and coolant can be 120 degrees so as soon as you take the cap off it will boil at normal atmospheric pressure. Check thermostat isn't stuck closed and might be worth getting a new coolant cap. Is it tuned? They can suffer from head lift under higher boost.
  14. Be worth spending about 7 quid on Erwin and downloading all the data if your going to be maintaining your own car.
  15. Good luck, they are very delicate, even the smallest dust can block up new injectors.
  16. You couldn't buy the dmf in the past, the fix was a smf, ns driveshaft and an ECU remap. Surprised you got hold of a dmf for it.
  17. They always have some grey sludge or crusty stuff in. Dealer probably didn't remove that filter and clean it out.
  18. Have you tried putting car in sport mode to see if it still kangaroos
  19. Not if he puts genuine or quality filter, easy job about 5 minutes too.
  20. Tyre manufacturers these days take advantage of the law and make the tread not as thick on the edges.
  21. You usually replace the full lot with sensors and valve etc, depending where it is broken you can fix with quality tape.
  22. It's fun when the grommet falls into the washer bottle 🤣
  23. Usually the parking brake is in the sky before the shoes fail, the wedge adjuster maxes out and you can't get any more.
  24. Depending on the miles I do I usually change mine 2x per year, can't do any harm. Before the bad weather and then 6 months later. Turbos used to last forever and now they fail all the time, not just the engine relying on the oil.
