USB-C sockets on Kamiq
I agree, try a power only USB lead. Also note that USB port power is limited so check the current draw of your HUD. It may well be that the only way it will work is the way you have it set up.

Gearbox Emergency Mode
Well, it's not a weeks work to take the box out that is for sure. Keep going with the challenge, the gearbox going into emergency mode without warning does not sound like some minor adjustment. Ask if there is a specific technical bulletin (TPI not TP1) covering this issue and ask to see it so that you can make sure they symptom you experience is the actual one the technical bulletin talks about. Most technical bulletins have a section which says "customer reports" ... Make sure this is the problem you have or the bulletin is irrelevant.

So called safety features
On most modern software there are assistive systems that can be disabled on a per journey basis. Most of these cannot be shut off permanently. If emergency braking activated when you feel it should not have than get the car checked by a competent garage.

Lane assist is dangerous
I don't think this is true for the latest generation of cars. It is true for older vehicles. In the latest generation of cars / software the setting are in the protected area. Not even sure a VW group garage can get to them.

Lane assist is dangerous
Lane assist will do exactly what was described. In reality it resists your lane change unless you are indicating. So in the case of joining from a slip road it will attempt to keep you on the slip road if you are not indicating.

Lane assist is dangerous
I'm going to disagree with the VW bashing a bit. 7 years ago my Wife, driving a GTi, was momentarily distracted and missed a car slowing to execute a right turn. The cars collision avoidance worked exactly as it should. Again my wifes 5 year old Golf R has range adjustment on the ACC to avoid the severe speed up or slow down that can occur if you set the detection distance to the shortest. It makes for very smooth motorway driving. I always try to remember this stuff is all "assistance" it's not a substitute for driving properly. It's essential to get a calibration on all assistance system you are happy with or if you can't live with a particular system then turn it off. Yes, I know some default to on and you have to manually deactivate on each engine start but it takes seconds.

Traffic Sign Recognition error message
The traffic sign recognition tries it's best. In the UK it is hampered by very poor maintenance of road signs. It's a guide at best and always worth remembering that. If can be outsmarted by signs on the rear of trucks or by misaligned signs on side roads.

I would not let them fire the parts cannon while you are paying. Get a fixed price for a guaranteed fix.

Gearbox Emergency Mode
You are right to be concerned. Car needs a full diagnostic and read of all fault codes by somebody who fully understands what they are looking at. TBH a DSG specialist might be a better bet for diagnosis.

MySkoda App.
Currently with a new car purchase the app is "free" for 3 years after that you have to pay for some of the stuff. I think the free period is limited to the first owner.

Virtual cockpit fuel consunption
You may find that you need to visit a Skoda dealer. While it's possible to download Map updates from Skoda I do not think they offer Infotainment updates this way.

Virtual cockpit fuel consunption
This totally depends on what you select using the chrome scroll wheel. If you have MIB 3 try selecting Overview in the menu options. Then select. I'm not sure if selecting fuel consumption as potions in the left and right hand gauges overrides what you see in the centre. For sure I have my centre display set to Overview and I see fuel consumption information there both instantaneous and since I refuelled plus miles since I refueled. For the two round dials I use classic view and have gear selected in one and digital speed in the other.

Replace all four tyres?
Personally, being a fairly low milage driver nowadays Then it's always all 4 as by the time they are worn they are also old. Generally speaking tyres should be replaced between 6 and 10 years old even if they are not worn to the legal limit of tread. We have a 4x4 in the garage and that always has all 4 done at the same time. As a minimum I'd do the pair on an axle unless they were very new when the puncture occurred. You can tell the age of the tyre by looking at the 4 digit code on the sidewall. It's just 4 numbers, the first 2 are week no, and the last 2 are year. (1226 - this would mean made in week 12 of 2026)

New Scala Price Question
Well it looks like a good deal provided it's not "nearly new". If you would be the first owner and you'd have all the usual first owner protection then looks good. Skoda don't have a deal anywhere near as good in the UK on their web site.

Skoda connect app
So have you created an account in the My Skoda app? does this include setting up an S-Pin. Once you have done these things you should be able to enter the vehicle VIN into the app and then pair the app to the car. If the app is paired to the car the opening page of the app will tell you vehicle status. Both car and phone must be in mobile range for all the above to work. Again, something the dealer should have done for you at handover.
