  1. If it's the same as any other VAG group car then yes it does.
  2. It might be the PCV, hard to say on modern engines.
  3. I can help with a couple. Lots of things cause the engine to restart on it's own if stop start is active. This can include the AC demanding cool air. The radio mode might be set to local to automatically change to a local station when in range. There is a margin on the speed warning system. after the first ping then you don't get reminder pings unless you are more than 2-3 mph over the posted limit. The other stuff will need a trip to the dealer.
  4. It'll be the bigger one so south of £300. Ring up and ask 2 or 3 dealers.
  5. Ask the supplying dealer and get a written answer. A lot depends on the mileage of the car. If you are on the mileage limit then get it done. You don't want to be arguing if you have a problem in year 3.
  6. It might well be chargeable, not saying it's not but 2 hours is steep! What's the tech going to do, sit and watch it update? The My Skoda app has limited access to the car and does not affect the OTA updates provided the car , and you as it's user, are registered with Skoda.
  7. @ johnnnie47. Yes that is exactly what I was saying.
  8. You cannot normal update while driving. Park the car where there is good signal. Ensure you are not in max privacy mode. With the ignition on activate the update process via infotainment. Wait for a message telling you it's finished before starting the engine. Normally turning off the ignition and locking the car halts the process.
  9. We have a 5 year old Golf, it still gets OTA updates. You must have a registered MY VW account with VW for this to happen. It's the same with Skoda and I also get occasional OTA updates. You must also not be set to max privacy. In both cases if you wish to get the extra information about traffic and map updates you must not only be registered you must pay a subscription after the "free" period expires. Most OTA updates require that the car is not moving. It must be stationary with the handbrake on (in P if auto). The alternative, as mentioned above, is to have the dealer do it. Since the OTA updates never take more than 30 mins a dealer connecting it to VW computer should not take 2 hours!
  10. The privacy setting is pretty powerful. Turns off a lot of stuff including NAV.
  11. It's in the manual Škoda Owner's Manuals - Kamiq
  12. Some applications cannot be updated while you are driving. Try stopping the car, apply the handbrake and see if the app will update with the ignition on but engine off. Also check you are not on max privacy. If it won't then a trip to the dealer my be needed.
  13. A restart may be all you need. Also try tapping on the HOME button and then swiping left or right to the view you want. Nav full screen should be available by tapping the NAV button.
  14. From the Skoda UK Official Accessory manual. Also as fitted from the factory in my actual car. BTW I have the actual CoC for my vehicle! As far as I know these seem to be produced on a per vehicle basis. Mine certainly cross references other ID number on the vehicle. For the OP, its about page 35. Totally legal as a get you home measure. Also some info here: Škoda Wheels & Tyres | Škoda UK
  15. @Carlston You are quite wrong. I have a factory supplied temporary spare wheel for my Kamiq. It's even in the accessory brochure. It is fully approved and fully compliant as a get you home spare wheel!
  16. You can buy a complete get you home spare wheel kit from Skoda. Skoda Kamiq Spare Wheel Kit Link for info but you can order from any dealer
  17. There was a pretty big update for all VAG cars in early June. I think different brands deployed it in different ways.
  18. I agree, try a power only USB lead. Also note that USB port power is limited so check the current draw of your HUD. It may well be that the only way it will work is the way you have it set up.
  19. Well, it's not a weeks work to take the box out that is for sure. Keep going with the challenge, the gearbox going into emergency mode without warning does not sound like some minor adjustment. Ask if there is a specific technical bulletin (TPI not TP1) covering this issue and ask to see it so that you can make sure they symptom you experience is the actual one the technical bulletin talks about. Most technical bulletins have a section which says "customer reports" ... Make sure this is the problem you have or the bulletin is irrelevant.
  20. I think you'll need to get the SOS module fixed first sadly. It has command of the in car microphone for obvious reasons.
  21. On most modern software there are assistive systems that can be disabled on a per journey basis. Most of these cannot be shut off permanently. If emergency braking activated when you feel it should not have than get the car checked by a competent garage.

I don't think this is true for the latest generation of cars. It is true for older vehicles. In the latest generation of cars / software the setting are in the protected area. Not even sure a VW group garage can get to them.

Lane assist will do exactly what was described. In reality it resists your lane change unless you are indicating. So in the case of joining from a slip road it will attempt to keep you on the slip road if you are not indicating.

I'm going to disagree with the VW bashing a bit. 7 years ago my Wife, driving a GTi, was momentarily distracted and missed a car slowing to execute a right turn. The cars collision avoidance worked exactly as it should. Again my wifes 5 year old Golf R has range adjustment on the ACC to avoid the severe speed up or slow down that can occur if you set the detection distance to the shortest. It makes for very smooth motorway driving. I always try to remember this stuff is all "assistance" it's not a substitute for driving properly. It's essential to get a calibration on all assistance system you are happy with or if you can't live with a particular system then turn it off. Yes, I know some default to on and you have to manually deactivate on each engine start but it takes seconds.
  25. The traffic sign recognition tries it's best. In the UK it is hampered by very poor maintenance of road signs. It's a guide at best and always worth remembering that. If can be outsmarted by signs on the rear of trucks or by misaligned signs on side roads.
