  1. Spreading rumours is a way of The Government flying kites. Who started the rumour as far as you can see @lol-lol the Daily Express. AI might have it repeated as started by you.
  2. When were the spark plugs replaced, or the air filter, or even inspected? What age of car having done how many miles?
  3. The issue of EV repairs are where you are in the UK, & transporting EV,s to repairers / distances. If you are lucky to be near ones that can do MAJOR repairs then good. As it is just getting EV,s or PHEV,s serviced or minor work might require using Main Dealers unless you are fortunate to have independent places or you can maybe use a Mobile EV Technician.
  4. @mikeng Welcome. Maybe your Word Search just never showed something there is on this forum.
  5. Welcome to the forum. Best say what car, what miles, what engine it has. So is it a petrol engine? Has it been serviced yet? EDIT, I see, 1.0 Fabia. So a TSI or is it a MPI? . Best have a different dealership deal with the issue. a very obvious Warranty issue, Spark Plugs, Turbo Accuator, Software issue or what ever. A Mod can move this to the Fabia Mk4 section.
  6. Tory Boy Andrew Bowie MP thinks that the next Elected Conservative & Unionist Government can impose New Nuclear plants on Scotland. About time if there is to be New Nuclear in Scotland that they get building it. Start at Dumfries House, Balmoral Estate, Castle of May and any other Royal Residences. KC3 can just give his permission & lets see what the Local Authority Planning make of that. In England Jacob Rees Mogg's Estate looks like an ideal location for a Small Nuclear Modular installation. Maybe a AI Data Centre as well.
  7. Cairngorm Mountain showed snow yesterday at the CAIRNGORM sign and somebody said 'First Snow of Winter'. But it would be the first snow of Autumn 2026, Surely they should know the seasons. Frosty this morning and lovely blue cloudless sky.
  8. Is it Motorway or Highway / Freeway as they are talking US EPA ESTIMATE figures, so if it is tested. Has it not been tested for the EPA results? with no emissions and no difference of a US or Imperial gallon. Highway / Freeway Speeds. Estimated to achieve 400 miles under EPA test and 450 under WLTP test. Well the World Wide Harmonised Light Vehicle testing matters not one bit in the majority of the world. It is designed to allow European vehicles to have fictional test results. Simple will be to run the Jag, Rolls Royce , BMW, Mercedes, Lucid, Tesla etc in convoy. So a Jag 01 & a 118 kW/h battery. getting 400 miles. = 3.4 miles to the kWh. *Mercedes EQS Saloon battery 122 kW/h usable.*
  9. @OccyVRS knows these cars, I don't. Hopefully he will be along.
  10. Best give some clues like WHAT ENGINE, how many miles done, when was it serviced last. Could there have been some issue with the last fuelling of the var?
  11. What SERVICE HISTORY do you have? What indication would you get that a vRS had a remap. CINCH never reset to Factory Settings. Has the VAQ Diff been serviced? Steering assist or brake assist might not be at Factory setting. This is what happens when buying used cars from Private sellers, Dealerships or car supermarkets. You do not know what you get until you can check everything out.
  12. Not Engine Light but It could be as simple as needing spark plugs. Misfires. It could be remapped and they have E10 Unleaded in.
  13. The Arctic is really not like UK or Scottish cambered roads where they might be ploughed or gritted or not and thawing snow on ice is pretty much a common thing and what you might want Winter tyres for be them Snow or All season. During Covid the rather well known tyre tester took a Golf to The Ski Roads to do tyre tests. The Ski Road to Cairngorm Ski Centre was closed and The Lecht & Glenshee roads had no snow and if they had and were open they would have been plough and gritted. What i want to know is if the roads are open can i get up the roads and more important down safely. descending being the scary part as far as i am concerned. Driving roads that Posties, home deliveries and even the Police are on without Snow Tyres is hardly much of a trial.
  14. If stopped on a hill and hill hold assist is working, holding the car for a couple of seconds it needs the accelerator touched to move off,
  15. Comparing Oranges & lemons with a 1.5 TSI ACT or a 1.0 TSI with a DSG from different model years then 2.0 TSI or TDI,s with DQ381,s from different model years.
  16. No point comparing 1.0 TSI or 1.5 TSI ACT,s with a DQ200 DSG from different model years and 2.0 TSI,s or TDI,s with DQ381,s from differebt model years. Changes happened several times to what ever drive trains and DSG.
  17. It should be on the records as done or not done. Also what other Service Campaigns, maybe track rod ends, maybe Heated Seat Elements if there are heated seats. Then there was a fan issue. But if '34F7' not done and DSG OK i would still not touch it. For a 2011 1.2 TSI There is can update of the Timeing Chain & tensioner. might have been done. There should be armoured Plug Leads, especially on cylinder 3. This was an update. When were the Spark Plugs changed? When was the Air Filter changed or the brake fluid replaced. These are the first service things i would do.
  18. Personally i would leave it as is. If the DSG functions properly.
  19. I like the big fat Elephant and would spend £120,000 on one if looking at getting a £120,000 car. But they have revealed a car with Door Handles that will not be allowed in China and maybe other countries around the globe sooner rather than later.
  20. There is an option of getting a Steel Spare wheel and a tyre fitted that has a matching near enough to the Circumference / diameter of the Tyres on the car. Just as a get you home or to tyre centre Emergency Spare. And a Jack and Tyre lever.
  21. EDIT Dq381, Wet clutch 80,000 miles DSG service. best do sooner.
  22. When was the DSG,s last Oil & Filter change?
  23. ^^^ That is different from doing a DQ200 on a 1.2 or 1.4 TSI Fabia. Do not remove the starter motor. @Catwoman If your car is a 2011 than there was a Service Campaign after 2014 to change the oil from Synthetic to mineral & a software update. '34F7' Dide the car get that. Sticker in the spare tyre well. There are 2 oils to change, in the gearbox and in the MCU. If changing the oil best do both. Best know what you are actually doing.
