  1. So how many BEV,s first registered in the 3 years. is it 1.3 million? is it just BEV,s and not including PHEV,s in the numbers registered or identified as having been on fire. Anyway, if insurance costs are going to increase so be it. Insurance is about risk and how much they pay out to insured or 3th parties.
  2. No increase in the RISK is there? Since 2020 133% increase while there was that increase in Registered BEVs. . But last year Fire Brigades could not give the figures strangely. The were counting, scooters, bikes, and Cars / Vans regularly. Any way, no increased fire risks.
  3. Read it now in other places. 279 compared to 120 in 2022. Elsewhere i read they attend a Lithium Battery fire every 5 hours. But then not 1 BEV Passenger car or any BEV fire every day. So 1 million registered BEV,s in the UK in 2023 & 2 million in 2026. To me that is double in 2 years.
  4. Sorry before i can read that link it crashes. So now the Fire Brigades in the UK & the insurers for England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland actually have the figures of EV fires. ???? Do we know how many of these incidents involved fatalities? So just over 2 million registered BEV,s in the UK.
  5. VAQ diff was @ 3 years / 30,000 miles and Awsome GTI and others recommended 2 years / 20,000 miles, then Skoda changed to 2 years / 20,000 miles with Mk4,s. As it is many a Dealers Service Desk person with no mechanical knowledge says 'Optional'. This is VAQ,s i am speaking of.
  6. @Gonzini Who is the warranty provider with a 'good will option'? Only 32,500 miles but done over 7 miles. That is longer than many might expect out of a bearing, but then you know how and where the car is driven. As to the main dealer price, if they are £120 plus vat or even more an hour for labour that is where they get the quoted price. Not that a warranty underwriter will pay that ridiculous price.
  7. Looks as painted since it was done at the factory.
  8. Your paint warranty is 3 years. The paint will need tested to see if it is Factory or some repair. But still not covered under the warranty. I suspect a poor job done by a bodyshop. I was a spray painter & used to do Warranty corrections to paint on vehicles. ... Plenty threads with a simple keyword search.
  9. Best to take a Tyre Pressure Gauge and check pressures before leaving with a new car. If they are left at the 'In Transit' pressures, for being strapped down you get the sales person to get the dealership principal and the Master Tech and they can do another PDI while you fill out a 'Customer Survey'.
  10. @skomaz I doubt original fitment on a 8 year old vehicle with over 100,000 miles.
  11. @PeterJB Why not just charge your car up once and then tell us what range you actually get from full to near empty for where you drive and how you drive? PS. Welcome to the forum.
  12. My pickup came on tyres i had never heard of. 'Radar Renegade A/T 5'. 3PMSF. I thought just cheap rubbish and they might prove to be. But reviews on them are OK and they are inexpensive. 245/65 R 17,s. So far i have driven in the wet with them and on 2 frosty mornings and they are fine. Quiet running and sure footed so far in Rear Wheel Drive. Time will tell how they behave when very wet or icy or snowy, but they are staying on for now till i see if they behave.
  13. Enjoy. Check tyre pressures and set as for your use and reset the TPMS. Be sure the Wheel bolt secure socket is there.
  14. @vg_vassilev I suspect that the Service had 0w 30 FS III oil used because that became the oil in more recent years for some engines that had not changed to VW508 00 / 509 00, so 0w 20 FS IV, but for maybe 10 years or more the recommended 5w 30 FS III will have been used. No harm with what it has but no harm in using what it used to have.
  15. Be as well to switch back to 5w 30 FS III , VW504 00 / 507 00. Which is what the 0w 30 FS III is as well. But was not getting used back 11 years ago. Check the Oil at Operating Temperature after being stopped a few Minutes. That is 4 or 5 after there is an indicated 90*oC oil temp. Top up to the top of the cross hatch area. Area A.
  16. The Posts are here from 2010 on about 'Pulling to the left', that was from cars being new. If people went on long enough at Skoda and after Dealerships never fixing the issue they got the Continental or Dunlop tyres replace for Pirelli. That disguised the issue. Actually the issue was often the tyres fitted wrongly for the 'Run out stripes'. But actually in the main it was the alignment of the front from the factory of Right Hand Drive cars for the UK. There were less complaining of Left hand drive cars 'Pulling to the eight'. Sorry no help to you with a 15 year old car, but it maybe never ever did get sorted. Sent to an Audi Garage where the Techs & Fitters maybe paid more attention.
  17. ^^^ Does the TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitor System) actually go mad when the tyre of a different circumference is fitted and the TPMS reset? ACC / CC might be disabled, and there can be issues with AWD,s, but is it not just the same as if tyre pressures are not all the same and you reset to what they are at?
  18. PS. I think you need to look at some Tuners vids, they love TESCO MOMENTUM 99 but as for Shell V-Power maybe you can link one that recommends that. I have been Dynoing cars for years and sprinted and did hill climbs, for me and others, Tesco Momentum 99 in Scotland or Carless Hiperflo 250 @ double the price. No unnecessary additives just purer fuel & the higher octane.
  19. I linked the Tesco Momentum 99 Formulation back about a decade ago when it was the only company that showed it for the UK. As to TEXACO, the Tesco Express near me sells E5 99 ron TEXACO, but is that correct for all TEXACO Stations that it is TEXACO SUPREME 99 ron that they sell? I do hate how Companies leave up old Websites.
  20. ^^^ But then there are plenty cars, maybe leased that go back into trade with Good Tyres fitted, even Ex Motability cars, simply because some drivers will not drive on Sh!te tyres through winters and might fit All Season / Winter bias tyres or just not 'Ditch Finder ECO tyres'.
  21. @Rainmaker Is the Shell v-Power additives package different from Tesco Momentum 99,s. Greenergy and Royal Dutch Shell import the same base fuels to various Depots then the additives are added? Not the same with all Shell products, or Greenergy for Tesco or Esso. There are E5 Superunleaded on sale at less than the price of E10,s in some retailers. Sainsbury,s E5 97 ron minimum can be 99 ron depending on their supplier at times as can 99 ron min be 100 ron / octane when brought in already mixed from Continental Europe.
  22. It is really amazing (not!) that Fuel Producers do not use these additives in their fuels & maybe just charge an additional pence or 3.
  23. @Bac Welcome to the Forum. Nearly 5 years since @akopczyk Signed in to the forum.
  24. When there were Service Books up to about 2010/11 in the UK there was a page after the Service Page for the Body Inspection, and that Was Minor & Major / Annual Servicing. The Inspection was supposedly each 2 years. The Skoda Inspections have never been in the T&C,s of the Corrosion Warranty. Never stated as at any period, annual or biennial or periodic. Skoda UK often says 'Inspections not carried out'. Well if they are required a Full Main Dealer Serviced Vehicle with No Record of Inspections tells Skoda UK who it is not doing 'Inspections; and Reports, and noting Corrosion or poor body repairs. That will include 'Skoda / VW Group Approved used cars.
