On your screen, there should be an icon of the rear of your car with brackets( ) around it click on that it will open the options, the front collision is on there - however you need to un select it every time you switch on the ignition - currently there is NO alternative or ability to switch it off forever 😵‍💫

  3. I chose an DSG box for my Superb (I know only available as a DSG, however if I’d have wanted a manual I’d not have bought a Superb). I owned a DSG A3 in the past, nice to drive and the gearbox worked very well. I swopped it out for. Passat estate after 9 months as it just didn’t have the internal or boot space to accommodate family holidays and my hobby.

  7. Yesterday, after a very entertaining match at Hereford (who won for a change). Across the road that I was about to turn onto out of the car park was a young family with a girl of about 7 years old, patiently waiting for the pedestrian light to change, I drove slowly out of the carpark the girl just turned around to her Mum, the Superb stopped dead in the middle of the road. Later on the A49 cruise control on, I kept getting messages to Take control of the wheel (or similar) this was despite me haveing both hands on the wheel at all time and looking forward out of the windscreen. Later on the M4 it became every minute or so I was getting the message if I failed to add input to the wheel despite my hands firmly holding it, a couple of seconds later I got the warning sound I moved my hands then, having the Harvard lights come on and the car braking to a stop wasn’t going to be fun. I switched it off then I’d had enough. Maybe it couldn’t see my eyes at night wearing normal clear lens glasses and as the roads have long straights I wasn’t doing much in the way of inputs. Who knows, if it carries on in the dark I will just stop using it.
  8. As my Mk4 SE L has the option to change in the settings, I’d be surprised if it changed automatically to be honest. Check out the settings before travelling would be my recommendation.
  9. Is it possible that when the wing mirror was clouted, it caused a disconnect on the cabling in the wing? A loose connection that’s taken a few years to give way? I had a similar issue on a Saab I owned for about 12 years. Someone in a Ford Escort tapped my rear end (bent all the front on his, just a few small scratches on the huge rubber bumper for me 🥳) one off the day lights on the rear stopped working, I couldn’t figure it out, a mate did after and hour or so.
  10. I’ve a June 2025 SE L, so your software should not be less able than mine. I haven’t yet attempted this to be honest however: In the 2025 Skoda Superb Estate SE L, the 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit is highly customisable, allowing you to manage phone calls without looking at the central infotainment screen. You can cycle through several distinct display modes by pressing the "View" button on the right side of the steering wheel. The area between the dials can be configured to show a "Telephone" widget, displaying your current call status or a list of recent contacts. This is ideal for seeing caller ID photos or navigating long contact lists using the steering wheel thumb wheel. Basic View: A minimalist layout that shows only essential driving data (like speed and range). When a call comes in, a pop-up notification will appear briefly to allow you to answer using the wheel.   12. My Superb tells me the same sorted data . However, mine will be serviced about every 8,000 miles. Also I find it totally ridiculous that a first oil change is scheduled at 10,000, I’m at 3K and the first change was done (not by the dealer of course) at 1,100 miles, a little later than planned, but life gets in the way sometimes.
  13. Steve, I hope they finally get it sorted for you. After all the cleaning you’ve done on the w/screen, I’m surprised it’s still smearing to be honest. Out of ideas, I asked an AI. The response is below, hopefully there is a gem in there somewhere (I doubt it, you’ve done most if not all of them) The inside of the screen seemed a bit left of field 🤷‍♂️ John Why the Smear Keeps Returning Invisible Contamination Layers: Standard glass cleaners often fail to remove "road film"—a tough mix of exhaust particles, tyre rubber, and road tar.   14. Hi Minter. I have a 3 Month old SE L 2.0 TDI estate, not a lot different from yours. 3.1k miles on the clock. My driving is at least 25% small country Somerset roads. I get no rattling on any type of road and my dash is very quiet. Anti collision systems flash on the screen frequently. I’ve had 4 or 5 occasions where it’s just applied the brakes for a fraction of a second. Yesterday for the first time it locked up the front wheels at about 35mph for no apparent reason that I saw. Washer has fast and slow as well as on demand 2 speed. Now the windscreen…….. it’s not run on oil, just from the electric motor. I would, Clean my screen and wipers a couple of times to remove the oil. Have your washed the car and applied a spray finish after washing? This can have a similar effect (don’t ask me how I know 🤦‍♂️). It took about 4 applications of screen cleaner and a decent amount of elbow grease to remove 80% of it. Most of the rest has worn away by now. If this applies to you….. Remember the clean the blades as well otherwise it will be wash rinse repeat sadly

  16. A bit late, I’d forgotten about this. I have the same issue not able to answer calls with the drivers door open. I can make them 🤷‍♂️ Still not figured out how to (if I can) cancel calls from the steering wheel. It’s the “thing” I miss most about my Passat 😩
  17. There is an option to not have the clock. That’s how mine was set on collection. I did however see the option on the screen to show clock when infotainment is off

  20. Yes, on a Passat about 5/6 years ago. I did what you’d said. Split the pipes, blew down each one, I had a partial blockage eventually blew it out (a pain) sucked the washer bottle dry, refilled and emptied it again, on 2nd refill all worked well. I did however about a year later need to swop out one of the jets, drivers side if I remember correctly. I syphoned out the majority and bought a cheap syringe type thing with a capacity of about 1/4 pint.
  21. TBO, I spent enough on the car, it ate my monthly allowance upto and including April. So the tunnel cover can wait not normally and kids in my car as I’m an old fart, and my youngest Grandchild sits in the front and relegates her Mum and Gran to the back (not my idea but I’m not complaining). The outlet covers for the rear AC outlets recommended by @travs arrived today, one damaged. Started the return, we’ll get a set eventually. The one that’s not damaged looks good, I may try a dry fitment when we next get some dry weather as the last couple a days have continued the rain most of us have been receiving recently.
  22. My OEM rubber matts arrived this morning. They look very nice, I was however surprised by just how light they are, less than 50% of the weight of the normal versions. No noticeable smell. I’ve 95 miles to Surrey and return tomorrow if they turn out to smell ,I’ll mention it here - no smell no mention 👍
  23. Have you tried a “Factory Reset” this may be the simplest option, and no harm done if it fail to resolve the issue🤞
  24. Do you have “auto hold” activated? As that stops this happening on my 2025 wagon SE L?
