  1. @Stuartie I’d not seen it done that way. Looks a bit easier that who I managed to do it. With hindsight, it’s not switched odd since, so that’s almost 2 weeks and about 350 miles ago. This leads me to believe that it was switched off by the driver (Me)😳 I’ll keep it in mind. This morning whilst waiting to pick up SWMBO, I’d spent a few minutes going through the settings via the info screen, hadn’t noticed that. Sadly I didn’t pick up anything else that I might like to change/try out. Maybe after 6 weeks I have it set as I like it. It’s not my first DSG so I’ve been very happy with the way that works from the beginning. I even remembered that when it switches itself off at traffic lights and junction, a gentle tap fires it up as the lights start to change or traffic clears and away I go with no delay at all.
  2. That’s quite good for those temps. Were you carrying any weight other than yourself, passangers luggage or a spare wheel and Jack ? How many miles on the clock and has consumption improved over time?
  3. Have you looked in the boot? Mine has the outline of a spare. The Dealers would have happily sold me one, but mentioned it’s over £300 😵‍💫 I bought an 18” emergency spare plus neck etc. not the foam bit. My boot also has the bit the large plastic thread fits in allowing the wheel to be locked in position. The Jack/tool bag are tied to the wheel with straps. Safe secure at about £190 all in. It’s only fitted for long runs including motorway driving. YMMV.
  4. I’ll give this a go tomorrow if it’s not too cold, I’d like the Skoda Green 😎
  5. ACC. Is the Skoda abbreviation. It works to either the road speed limit or what you set it at. It will make allowances for bends, junctions etc. I have an SE L superb 4 and it’s standard on mine. The Sport line is a step up and will also have this included. On you tube search for Dave sells skoda’s He give a breakdown for you Enjoy the car, mine is a nice step up from a B8 Passat in most ways 👍
  6. Steve, Thanks, I use EE and have full eu access for about £6.88 a month, happily I’ve not paid my phone bill for about 5 years (it’s on my son in laws account, and costs him almost nothing compared to the hours I spend in his garden (just cutting the grass on his “paddock” takes about an hour an the drive on mower). I’ll leave the £70 in my bank 👍😁
  7. I’ve a new Superb. When out this morning I’ didn’t see anything resembling that. I had looked as it some large flying **** bird deposited a considerable amount of runny white crap all over my rear off side door when I stopped off for a cuppa at my girls place 🤨
  8. After all that great info. It sounds like in most circumstances in the UK and Europe the sat nav would be closer to the truth on your average May or major road. Flights and shipping around Europe also use EGNOS. It produces accuracy to about a 4x6mr cube. Japanese also only uses geostationary satellites (so my research tells me) every day i sa School day 😂
  9. Sat Nav reads your movement along the ground, so is affected by hills and bends curves. It is not affected by the size of your wheels/tyres or tread wear. Put simply it measures the time it’s taken for you to move between 2 and more bearings. You could be on a ferry or flying. Provided you have the minivan out of satellite reception your good.
  10. @mumpsim That’s a set of very interesting figure your showing there. Satellite speed apps are very accurate (But ONLY when your travelling a straight flat road). They can be helpful is checking what your Speedo shows. However as you have indicated 5k miles later that data is incorrect. Motor Manufacturers are obliviously aware of these issues. As a result they always, always over compensate your speed. Regardless of you having a new or old set of rubber fitted. Your Speedo will not show less and will show a couple of mph more that the actual speed your vehicle is travelling at. The main reason. That any claim you might make against them re speeding fines. They can disprove in the blink of an eye. Secondary reason, it makes it seem like the car is more capable than it really is (goes faster, accelerating quicker)l A win win for them
  11. Hi, I’m looking at possibly throwing some cash away on a trial internet upgrade for the car. Has anyone experienced this paid for service? Is it worthwhile? Have you encountered any issues in use? I’m not sure I need it, I have yet to activate Spotify through CarPlay, if I get decent reception and it plays 99% of the time then I won’t need it. £70 a year is not cheap by any means, especially as it’s not unlimited ☹️
  12. One more issue is: You can haggle when providing your own finance the pcp is at a set price (that’s my understanding anyway). Happy to be proved wrong. The 2 dealers I asked both said the same, different franchises and cities.
  13. I replaced my Passat Estate 2.0tdi 150 bhp with a Superb Estate basically the same engine but DSG transmission. The tank is about the same size, but currently it’s achieved at best 5mpg less that the Passat. It must be the extra weight (slightly larger, heavier gearbox and better seats, plus more toys. I hope me improves to 60+ mpg but it might take a while for the engine to fully loosen up 🤷‍♂️
  14. @liscar The best info I could find without the year of manufacture is: To find your wheel's offset, look for an "ET" number stamped on the back of the wheel (German for Einpresstiefe) I hope that helps
  15. @nt16 Sadly it looks like your correct, I’ll see if I can find the correct thread 👍

  17. Jador I had (somehow) also disabled the Auto hold. It could be that you operated the manual switch in the centre console. That does switch it off 🤷‍♂️ Log in on your big screen. On Vehicle settings Choose Car When the car appears rotate until you see the option Brakes. Tap on it the option to enable Auto hold will be there. This works, I had the same issue about a week or so ago 👍
  18. Early this morning when we arrived home, SHMBO graciously agreed to check on my reversing lights. There are 2……. This is on the Superb 2025 SE L version. I hope all versions follow suit 🤞 John
  19. I’ve no update available yet. However I use a Mac, so the info telling it best to use a windose machine is very helpful. Thanks John
  20. Most of my mileage is 20 plus miles each way or greater. Longer runs a couple of times a month. Very few “domestic” short runs 2 a week at most, on average, I’m not in a hurry and try to avoid peak hours (I’m retired and it’s travelling for my hobbies mostly).
  21. Skoda say they do unlock on an accident. I’ve had then on my previous Passat and Audi before that and they worked very well. There was an unlock switch by the window switches on the drivers door. It was never an issue unless it was raining and on collecting SHMBO forgot to unlock her door beefier she tried to rip it off 😳😳. Followed by of course a strip off me 🤷‍♂️ Thinking about it, I’ll need to check out how to unlock it on my Superb 🤦‍♂️ John
  22. Viffer800. That’s great news and a decent price you paid 👍 I was not trying to put anyone off, rather that they do their due diligence and not believe they can buy a basic OBD 11 and happily recode the safety systems (as some YouTubers indicate is possible). John
  23. We did a nice drive out this afternoon in the sun and 5 degrees c 33 miles, mainly A roads with maybe e through Chippenham very little traffic as you’d expect today. 54.2 mpg. Not bad I’ve less than 1200 miles on my superb estate 150 TDI SE L. I had hoped for a bit more and maybe 63+ when it’s ran in at about 7/8/k miles or so. No complaints it’s a very nice drive providing I remember to switch off lane assist as pull off. My 67 plate Passat 2.0tdi achieved 63 average in Winter 68+ in Summer and 65 over the last 12 months I owned it. The Superb is a bit heavier and with the emission “improvements “ I was still hoping to average only a couple of mpg less long term. John
  24. OK, A quick check reveals: 2 rear fog. I need someone to check when I’m in reverse as I can’t tell from the car 🤦‍♂️ Update to follow John
  25. Interesting, I have the SE L so full Matrix lights.I’ll have a quick look now.
