Upgrade from Mk3 to Mk4?
I Picked up my Black Superb yesterday afternoon. On the way home via Tesco’s to full up, everything thing seemed to work as it should. No problems from anything. This morning, I went out early, taking the boss shopping. I had the (now common it seems) issues with the safety systems and either the camera/sensors in front of the drivers rear view mirror or the radar block. With the safety’s systems are inoperable type message. That went way in about a mile or so. Later on, I went out and set everything up to my liking (no doubt I’ll need to change something going forwards. I noticed a couple of items that seem to be different from post I’ve read on the Superb sub section: My interior 12v socket is live with the ignition off, my plug in adapter has a power light so it’s hard to miss. On CarPlay, I can have Google maps on both screens active at the same time. Swipe to open the boot was about 50-50 working or not. I have a dipstick 👍 It’s to soon to make a final decision, however, all’s looking good at the start of our journey together. The steering is very positive and turning circle nice and tight. Power train is possibly a fraction quieter than my Passat of same engine/power but manual box The auto box is just as smooth and responsive as my A3 of same engine and auto box. The boss is impressed - that’s a very good thing as she loved our previous VAG cars🥳 Overall mostly what I’d expected/hoped for I’ll post more after a few thousand miles\

Upgrade from Mk3 to Mk4?
I collect my Superb on Thursday. I had a chat with the salesman this afternoon. I specifically asked about the software updates and if Google maps from my IPhone now worked correctly. He said yes a full sized map in the drivers screen. From what you have said, I will update later on in the week 🤞 John

Military paint suggestions
From my recollection, the MOD paint needs to be sprayed whilst wearing full IPE. I was serving many years ago, we used to just spray or brush on. The MOD suffered from a change in the law, this made then liable for there negligence. Needless to say, the week before this law went live we were barred from painting anything with the green or black paint. A bit late to the party but, I’m still finding my way around. John

Unleashing the Power of OBDeleven: A Must-Have for SKODA Owners
New to the forum. However, I spent some time last week trying to find a solution for SFD2. Currently , I can’t find one………Anywhere. VCDS, who I think are the better option fully admit and give more detail than their competitors on the subject. It’s still not simple for authorised dealers to make changes and has a cost to them my informant says. I haven’t fact checked the last bit to be honest

Dead Battery-VRS mk 4.5
I’m just trading in my B8 Passat Estate for the Superb IV. The car had on 77653 miles when my battery dropped to 40%, I’m not a gambler so replaced it before the warm weather ended. I expect it’s a batch of batteries that’s causing the issue. Unless of course, your car was on of many stock on the continent awaiting export approval last spring (I thing there’s a thread on here somewhere mentioning it). A replacement should short it all out for a fair few years. John

Has anyone experienced any malfunctions with their 2025 Skoda Superb?
@Joel- Joel, that’s sad, hopefully my stock system isn’t that bad. To be honest, it won’t affect me to badly as I have quite a high level of tinnitus that makes most sounds wools and treble quite painful. But I agree, on modern cars of this price range I would expect a decent sound system as standard. Have you complained about it? You may (hopefully) have a simple fault to resolve🤞

Installation of an auxiliary headphone socket to my head unit
tazman, I’ll try again slightly different question, here is the answer given: I've looked into your question, and while the search results don't contain specific instructions for your 2025 Skoda Superb, they provide strong evidence that your FiiO JM21 is a very capable audio source. The path to "maximum quality sound" will depend on which connection method you choose. Here is a summary of the JM21's key audio features and the connection options you have for your car: Feature Specification Relevance for Car Audio DAC Chips Dual Cirrus Logic CS43198 Ensures high-quality digital-to-analog conversion, forming a excellent foundation for your sound. Output Power Up to 700mW (balanced) More than enough power to drive a signal to your car's aux input. Outputs 3.5mm single-ended & 4.4mm balanced Gives you physical connection options. The 3.5mm is the most universally compatible. Bluetooth Bluetooth 5.0 with LDAC, aptX HD, etc. Allows for high-resolution wireless streaming if your car supports these codecs. USB DAC Mode Can function as an external sound card Potential for a pure digital connection if your car allows USB audio from external devices. 🎵 How to Connect for Best Sound Quality To achieve the best sound, you should aim for a wired connection to bypass any compression and the lower-quality DAC in your car's head unit. 1. 3.5mm Auxiliary Cable (Most Direct Method) · How it works: Use a high-quality 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable to connect the JM21's 3.5mm port to your car's AUX input. · Why it works: This method utilizes the high-quality DAC and amplifier in your FiiO JM21. The car's system simply amplifies an already-clean analog signal. It's a universal and reliable option. · For best results: Set the JM21's output to Line Out (LO) mode if possible. This provides a fixed, optimal level signal for external amplification. 2. USB Connection (Potentially Highest Quality) · How it works: Connect the JM21 to your car's USB port using a USB-C cable. The JM21 can act as an external USB DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter). · The Caveat: This is highly dependent on your car's infotainment system. Some modern systems will recognize the JM21 as an audio device and stream pure digital audio to it, allowing the JM21 to do the conversion. You would need to consult your Skoda's manual or test this to see if it's supported. 3. High-Resolution Bluetooth (Wireless Convenience) · How it works: Use the JM21 as a Bluetooth receiver. Pair your phone to the JM21, then connect the JM21 to your car via a 3.5mm cable. Alternatively, use the JM21 as a transmitter to send audio to your car's Bluetooth system. · Why it's good: This leverages high-quality codecs like LDAC or aptX HD supported by the JM21. However, there can be noticeable audio lag with this mode, making it less ideal for watching videos. · Important Check: For the best wireless quality, ensure your car's Bluetooth also supports these high-quality codecs, which may not be common. 💡 How to Determine the Best Option for Your Skoda To move forward, I suggest a quick process of elimination: 1. Check for an AUX Input: Look in your car's center console or glovebox for a 3.5mm AUX jack. If you have one, starting with a high-quality cable is your easiest and most reliable bet. 2. Test the USB Port: Try connecting the JM21 via USB to your car. If the system recognizes it and allows you to select a "USB audio" source, you may have a fantastic digital connection. The JM21 may need to be switched to its USB DAC mode. 3. Consult Your Manual: Your Skonda owner's manual is the definitive source for what audio inputs are available and how they function. To get the absolute maximum quality, a wired connection via the 3.5mm AUX input is the most universally recommended and dependable method based on the JM21's capabilities. If you can check for an AUX input in your car, I can provide further guidance. Knowing what audio inputs your Skoda SE L has will help narrow down the perfect connection strategy for you.

Installation of an auxiliary headphone socket to my head unit
tasmin, I did a lookup in my AI, It may have been helpful, have a read: Based on the search results, I couldn't find a specific 3.5mm headphone kit compatible with the 2025 Skoda Superb SEL. The available adapters are designed for much older vehicle models. John 🔍 Alternative Solutions and Suggestions Since a direct-fit solution isn't listed, here are other paths you can explore to connect your audio devices: · Check for Existing Connectivity: Modern cars like the 2025 Superb often have multiple built-in audio inputs. Before buying any adapter, check your car's infotainment system for existing USB-C or USB-A ports that can connect to your phone, allowing you to play music directly. · Consult Professional Installers: For new vehicle models, specialized car audio retailers are the best source for accurate information. They can confirm if a universal adapter can be integrated or if a more advanced solution is needed. You can contact the experts at a shop like Masori, who offer compatibility checks and installation services. · Use a Bluetooth Transmitter: If your car doesn't have native Bluetooth for audio streaming, a Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into a 12V power socket (cigarette lighter) can be a wireless workaround. This is a universal option that doesn't require vehicle-specific compatibility. 💡 How to Proceed For the most reliable information, I recommend you: 1. Contact a Skoda Dealer: They can provide definitive information about the head unit's specifications and available official accessories. 2. Speak with a Car Audio Specialist: A professional installer can assess your head unit and recommend a custom solution to meet your needs. I hope this guidance helps you find a suitable way to play your music. Would you like me to help search for professional car audio installers in your area?

Has anyone experienced any malfunctions with their 2025 Skoda Superb?
Hi Joel, Thanks you made me laugh 😂 Never having to deal with Skoda, I can’t yet comment (and hope never to have the need to comment) on their Warranty. I can’t yet only hope it’s a pain free experience. Unfortunately after reading a couple of hundred posts on Superb’s, others don’t seem to think so 😳 However, as I normally treat all my goods and chattels well, I hope my experience will be smooth and long lasting 👍🏻 I am of course, not making any comment or criticism of anyone who has had issues 🤦♂️ John

Scandinavian DRL's?
Busa Boy, I thought you were jacking my chain a little to be honest. My first “new” car back in 1985 was a Saab 99. Lovely car came without a radio/cassette player. I owned it for 6 years and never bought one….. It did however have enormous rubber bumpers front and rear, and daylights front and rear as well. It only every let me down once, on Germany’s Baltic coast one year, my oil pump started to leak. I managed to get a tow to the local Saab garage. When the mechanic asked me to open to bonnet and start the engine, his first reaction was… Oh look, pointing at my fuel pump, that was just starting to drip. He replaced both in about 3 hours. I replaced it with a new Mitsubishi that didn’t last long. The car was nice performed well enough for me but the brakes were just like a light switch off or on😩 Ever since I’ve always have my sidelights on. Being visible is not a bad thing. As for the Nanny systems, as big a pain as they are, I think new drivers who have only a auto licence never learn to read the road conditions ahead and may take years to learn what a drive with a manual has to pick up very quickly.

Rough running at start up.
On my last 5 VAG diesels, I’ve been using this every time I refuel. Never had an issue with running rough. It slightly increase mpg as it increases cetane level by 4. I never overdose and in summer underdone by about 25%. Not cheap of course, far from expensive with the added mpg I normally buy a few at a time when on offer. front parking sensors/camera
Hi John, I’n new here, however on YouTube, search for Dave Sells Skodas. He is based in Swindon and does a great job of explaining most of the settings in his videos. He has one on the mk4 2024 and a second on the 2025 (the only ones I watched to be honest). I do remember it’s linked to the left hand stalk and shows on the video. I hope that helps mate👍 John

Upgrade from Mk3 to Mk4?
I tried Waze on my (now old) Passat B8, I didn’t like the interface and it seems very clunky. Apple Maps are awful in my experience as was in inbuilt VW software a the Passat (latest version). The only maps that work well repeatedly in my experience is Google, sad as I’d love to use something different 🤷♂️ John

Can't activate car in MySkoda app "Service is unavailable" -- plus eSIM signal strength
I was under the impression that: You needed to the V5 or the VIN number written down You needed an active version account You needed to be in the car with your phone The car needed to be switched on with a good connection And you need all the keys in your hand. That’s what the app says anyway 👍

Front centre armrest
Have you been looking at the wrong spec sheet? The mark 3 had an adjustable rest I think. The IV isn’t marketed as being adjustable (mine wasn’t). John

Busa-Boy, That’s very true and a simple solution. However if I could have changed it to switch on automatically,it would have been one less it to think off😎 Thanks for the reply John

Platinum Skoda - Bath.
I’ve just bought my first Skoda from them, a new Superb, I managed to get a decent discount on list price. Staff all seemed friendly and willing to help. On my test drive, I was given a set of keys and told to take it a demo Superb out, just my wife and I. Up to now I’m exceedingly happy with them. There are my local dealership, and I expect all my warranty service will be done by them. John

Scandinavian DRL's?
It seems that there is now a block on most modification that users cab do. Ross Tech are one of the main manufacturers of the required devices. There website says that there is a “new” security system blocking most changes that were possible on earlier models. Due to the new international and EU safety rules I understand, to stop you from switching off mandatory safety settings. My understanding is that all lighting systems are covered by this. The information is a few months old, with Ross Tech saying they have been waiting quite a while for a response from VAG. Don’t buy any device that says it can do the coding mods on newer vehicles, they are not able to do so. My understanding is that it’s not simple for dealerships either. They require authority from Germany and it’s a chargeable service to them 🤷♂️ I was hoping to to the same lighting change. John
