  1. Are you sure? I know people have asked at the dealers and been told it only a 3 year warranty!
  2. I'm 38 and passed my test back in the summer of '88 and got 3 points back in my early 20's for 77 in a 60! :rotz: I can remember it like it was yesterday, I was driving an AXGT on my way home from work and remember going past a pub and the police T5 was sat there, cue my ar5e falling out and suprise how fast the blue lights appeared in my rear view mirror! Clean ever since.
  3. Yeah I know, I rarely use it but some people use it every month, some even, with a large overdraft, never get out of it! I personally think it's just too much! :rotz:
  4. Just got a letter from the Halifax yesterday regarding changes to my current account. Normally when you get these letters it's something which is pretty pointless, i.e. change of wording, blah, blah. However, this was different, as from 6th December 2009 they're introducing a daily charge for using an overdraft, which is as follows; If you use an arranged overdraft up to £2500, you're charged £1 a day If you use an arranged overdraft over £2500, you're charged £2 a day If you use an unarranged overdraft, you're charged £5 a day Now, I do have an arranged overdraft of £300 which I rarely use but have done the last few months but I think these charges are ridiculous! This has prompted me to think about changing banks, I know it could be a pain in the ar5e with having to sort out direct debits, etc but I'm seriously cheesed off with the Halifax for doing this, I've been with them for over 20 years and can't think of any reason why I should stay with them! I wonder if all banks do this or is it just these muppets! Any ideas?
  5. Personally I think we should display somehow the fact that the car is insured too! I'm sure the cars in Germany have something on their number plates showing this!
  6. Looks really good! Wheels look great, should've been on from the factory IMO... What's the plans after you've lowered it then?
  7. :iagree: However, count yourself lucky the paintwork is okay! Quite a few of us have took the strips off to find the dreaded paint bubbles!
  8. Steep? Effing vertical more like... Needless to say I'll be shopping around again come renewal time! I'm considering fitting Eibachs and don't want to pay silly money to insure it with them on either!
  9. My insurance went up by approx £40 last time at renewal, I did contact the insurers in question to ask why and if there was anything they could do! They did reduce my monthly premium by 8p! Yes 8p per month! I know there is nothing we can really do about insurance companies increasing their premiums to cover the ****heads that are un-insured drivers and the ridiculous "no win, no fee" culture that we now live in! Now I'm no young 'un, nearly 40 in fact and live in a decent area but I feel I'm paying over the odds (£450) especially with a no claims history dating back 20 years for a standard Fabia Vrs which is parked on my driveway! I use a lot of the price comparison sites to try and get the best deal but I like the reassurance of protected no claims, legal cover, breakdown cover, etc so I guess thats why my premium is high.
  10. Great article again! Love reading them!
  11. The price wasn't an issue! The fact that they did it straight away was worth it! However, the point is, I'm a bit pi55ed off with Etyres wanting to charge for a new tyre before they'd even look at it! :rotz:
  12. If you went to a body shop to get them done, do you think they'd take them off, paint them and re-fit them? Just don't feel that confident of removing them!
  13. Just thought I would share this with you and get your thoughts! I got home this morning after a long night-shift, pulled on the drive, got out and walked towards the house and for some reason looked back (don't know why) at the car and noticed something in the tread. I thought it was just a stone at first but no, a nail! B0ll0CKS! Curiosity got the better of me, hoping it might just be a short tack and would pull out without that horrible air escaping sound but alas no! So, off came the wheel, on went the spare and thoughts of where to get it fixed started! I got the tyres back in April from ETYRES and on the invoice they state that they offer free puncture repairs for ETYRES customers. Result I thought! A quick phone call to them informed me that the way it works is that they book out a tyre to me, which I have to pay for, they inspect the punctured tyre and fix it if applicable then refund the booked out tyre! :rotz: Needless to say I went to the local National Tyres Centre down the road who did it straight away and only charged £12.
  14. One thing I'd really like is to have my door handles colour coded (silver) BUT I think it'll be a complete nightmare to remove them, paint them and re-fit them!
  15. :orb_scare NOOOOOOOOO!!!! Don't do it!!!!
  16. Got to agree with Lady Elanore about restoration projects! They're just fascinating! Love them! Cheers Moggytech, Snoopy's looking good!
  17. I'm still tempted to tweek the suspension on my Vrs but, like yourself, don't want to go to the expense of coilovers. I've read dozens of threads on here about what to change/alter when fitting Eibachs e.g. dampers, trim bumpstops, new bolts, etc! I only want to change it for looks as I'm quite happy with the standard handling but the thought of having problems with clunking noises every time I drive it is putting me right off changing the springs! Good luck getting it sorted!
  18. It won't be for long marra after you've been on here for a while! Welcome from another North-easterner!
  19. Looks good, I like it a lot! I've been tempted to paint the plastics around the vents after seeing a few pics on different threads! The only thing putting me off is the thought of how much of a mare it could be to remove them without damaging them in any way! Any tips?
  20. I haven't been on here for long compared to some but I couldn't agree more! Well said!
  21. IIRC the special order mats from Halfords are nearly all black! They are the only one that tend to have the option to be fitted by floor clips! However they do, or did have, beige mats on the shelf BUT they're absolute garbage as they move all over the floor due to the poor backing and can get stuck under the pedals! Good Luck!
  22. I was just thinking the very same thing!
  23. There's a company up 'ere that manufacture electric vans! When I say manufacture I think they just take out the engine of a standard van and replace it with an electric unit. The report on them was on the local news not too long back and what made me chuckle was the reporter saying that they've had to add something that makes the sound of a traditional engine as customers can't get used to the fact they're so quiet!
