  1. No mate, it's the electronic switch that creates a circuit telling the ecu the bonnet is closed. Normally it's like a small plunger type switch like you have on the doors that recognize the door is open and in turn puts on the interior light, if that makes any sense!
  2. As title really, as my intermittent wipers are no longer working and the hazards no longer flash when I lock the car I'm pretty sure this is the cause as both problems seem to have arrived at the same time. I've just got no idea where it is, I've had a good look but still can't see it!
  3. Cheers for the reply, I tried that last night and it made no difference unfortunately! It was dark when I got in from work yesterday as I was wanting to have a look at the bonnet switch to see if that had anything to do with it. To add insult to injury, driving to work today and the intermittent wiper function was non-existent but I'm hoping that maybe just a fuse that needs replacing or a maybe even a new relay! All the other wiper functions are fine and washers are working too so that's something else to look at. I'm even starting to think that the weather is to blame! I must admit to giving serious consideration to getting rid of my beloved Vrs before anything major starts to go!
  4. As title really! All doors, boot and bonnet are closed (checked and re-checked) I've read the vehicle handbook and searched the forum but can't find anything that might give me an idea of what could be wrong apart from the doors not being fully closed. When I open the car the hazards flash as normal and while driving the indicators work fine, it literally is just when I lock it the buggers don't flash! This has only started in the last day or two and all I've done is top up the screenwash, which makes you think that the bonnet wouldn't be closed properly but it is! Any suggestions folks? Thanks in advance
  5. My 05 Fabia sometimes has the same problem, not so much on the drivers side as it's sheltered up against the house but the passenger side doors were really difficult to open! I guess it's just one of those things, my Focus had the same problem.
  6. No problems here, I think you've just got to drive relevant to the conditions. My Vrs is, touch wood, doing well....................... so far! It's in desperate need for a good clean though!
  7. I've heard he was bringing out a DVD for Christmas called "Tiger's 18 favourite holes" Dunno if it'll be about golf though!
  8. Quality post Loved it, absolutley brilliant!
  9. Yup, just got home half an hour ago, took 20 minutes longer than usual... Be careful out there folks!
  10. I haven't had a chance to get to the supermarket yet as I working all the hours that God sends at the minute, however I shall be loading up the trolley with plenty of liquid gold to keep me going through the festive period! Oh and must remember to buy SWMBO a bottle of Baileys! Is it just me or does anyone else prefer bottles rather than cans?
  11. Well I went to see it today and enjoyed it, like everyone has said, the special effects were fab, but got to agree with others and say leave your brain at home! On a slightly different point, with it being Orange wednesday we decided to go and see A Christmas Carol in 3D later in the day and have to say that it was brilliant and SWMBO and I enjoyed it more than 2012!
  12. I had a similar problem but the buzzer used to go even when there was no lights on! All bulbs fine, all connections clean and fine! Drove me mad for weeks! I took it to the garage where I bought it from as it was still under warranty (after numerous visits to a local VW dealer who couldn't find a fault) and they fixed it somehow via VAGCOM! Thank fook for that! However, today my screenwash ran out but there should've been a warning buzzer and light for that BUT there wasn't and now I'm thinking what else could they have turned off at the same time! Good luck getting it sorted out!
  13. Well Game (I think) are doing a deal for the PS3 and MW2 at approx £275 but saw an advert in the paper this morning for a 120gb PS3 for £199.99 at Sainsburys! Bargain! Didn't have any copies of the game though! :( Man behind the counter said they'll be selling it at £26 for one week only and should get more in this week!
  14. Keep up that attitude and you may get fewer and fewer replies to threads you start!
  15. Agreed it does not exceed 149mph but I think I'll stick with what's specified by Skoda mate!
  16. Good tyres, got them myself from E-Tyres! Supposedly noted for having a decent lifetime, guess that's why they're so pricey! When I spoke to Kwik-fit the speed rating was V not W which is specified for the Vrs!
  17. A nice little Briskoda.net sticker would look good above the headlight! :D:D
  18. Me too!!! Just waiting till next week to see if anyone is going to do a bundle deal with this game!
  19. I think there's a black one coming out soon, could be wrong mind but a friend of mine mentioned it the other day... More of a Playstation man myself!
  20. Yup, it's the dogs danglies! Lasts a lot longer, just don't put too much on or it'll spin off (speaking from experience)
  21. Sh!t for brains obviously! :rotz: No class either! BTW anyone notice Cheryl Cole's R8 for sale in the same article? Only 67K! Now that's how they should look! Not ruined like his!
  22. Wouldn't it be soooo much easier if Powerflex did some shorter ones for the Fabia? I'm going to fit some Eibachs soon and was going to trim the bumpstops but would much prefer to just replace them with an "un-butchered" set!
  23. Would YOU go on one? If so, which one? SWMBO is trying to persuade me to go on The Cube! You know what it's like, you sit and watch them saying "that's easy, I could do that, blah, blah" The idea of winning a large sum of money is very appealing so I'm giving it some thought!
