  1. Just thought I would share this with you and get your thoughts! I got home this morning after a long night-shift, pulled on the drive, got out and walked towards the house and for some reason looked back (don't know why) at the car and noticed something in the tread. I thought it was just a stone at first but no, a nail! B0ll0CKS! Curiosity got the better of me, hoping it might just be a short tack and would pull out without that horrible air escaping sound but alas no! So, off came the wheel, on went the spare and thoughts of where to get it fixed started! I got the tyres back in April from ETYRES and on the invoice they state that they offer free puncture repairs for ETYRES customers. Result I thought! A quick phone call to them informed me that the way it works is that they book out a tyre to me, which I have to pay for, they inspect the punctured tyre and fix it if applicable then refund the booked out tyre! :rotz: Needless to say I went to the local National Tyres Centre down the road who did it straight away and only charged £12.
  2. One thing I'd really like is to have my door handles colour coded (silver) BUT I think it'll be a complete nightmare to remove them, paint them and re-fit them!
  3. Oh a nice cold pint of cider for me thanks! Not that pear cider though! Yuck! Cheers!
  4. I'm a huge Sunderland fan and before the game would've been chuffed to bits with a point at Old Trafford... but I'm absolutely gutted not to come away with all three! :( We deserved to, and maybe would have if we'd had eleven men on the field!
  5. Up here in the North-east it's blowing a gale and what with autumn now here :( the roads are covered in so much debris it's ridiculous, even on the A1! Coming home from work at lunchtime I managed to run over something that clattered the underside of the car, even though I was being extra cautious, luckily no damage done! Just be careful out there folks, we don't want to damage our pride & joy!
  6. :orb_scare NOOOOOOOOO!!!! Don't do it!!!!
  7. Got to agree with Lady Elanore about restoration projects! They're just fascinating! Love them! Cheers Moggytech, Snoopy's looking good!
  8. Anyone else watching? Sooooo tempted to go out and get the boxset! Saw it for a tenner in Asda! Class! :ready2go: Rocky 3 is on next week (the best one IMO)
  9. I'm still tempted to tweek the suspension on my Vrs but, like yourself, don't want to go to the expense of coilovers. I've read dozens of threads on here about what to change/alter when fitting Eibachs e.g. dampers, trim bumpstops, new bolts, etc! I only want to change it for looks as I'm quite happy with the standard handling but the thought of having problems with clunking noises every time I drive it is putting me right off changing the springs! Good luck getting it sorted!
  10. It won't be for long marra after you've been on here for a while! Welcome from another North-easterner!
  11. Looks good, I like it a lot! I've been tempted to paint the plastics around the vents after seeing a few pics on different threads! The only thing putting me off is the thought of how much of a mare it could be to remove them without damaging them in any way! Any tips?
  12. I haven't been on here for long compared to some but I couldn't agree more! Well said!
  13. IIRC the special order mats from Halfords are nearly all black! They are the only one that tend to have the option to be fitted by floor clips! However they do, or did have, beige mats on the shelf BUT they're absolute garbage as they move all over the floor due to the poor backing and can get stuck under the pedals! Good Luck!
  14. I can remember quite a few years ago on a lads weekend in Blackpool we saw a couple going like the clappers at it ON THE BEACH next to the central pier! Needless to say quite a large crowd gathered for the show!
  15. I was just thinking the very same thing!
  16. Anytime! Always like to do my bit for the small clubs!
  17. :orb_laugh Oh stop it, me sides are splitting! Facts are facts, ahem, Sunderland AFC average attendance last season 40,168 (total attendance 763,198) Stadium of Light capacity 49,000 THFC average attendance last season 35,929 (total attendance 682,649) White Hart Lane capacity 36,310 Nothing like a discussion 'bout football to bring out the big kid in everyone is there? My dad's bigger than you're dad etc, etc  Good luck for the season ahead except when you play us!
  18. LLoyd Grosman does it! Not too strong either, very nice! You can pick it up just about anywhere too!
  19. We had chicken tagliatelle(?) in a tomato and roasted garlic sauce last night! Well tasty! Got to say though at the minute the favourite in our house is mince n' tatties with mini yorkshire puds and plenty of HP sauce! WOW! Easy peasy! Not so easy peasy getting off your chair after a huge plate full though!
  20. I'm a Sunderland fan and think we could've made the signing of this transfer window! Darren Bent's goalscoring record is very impressive and all the Mackems are looking forward to watching him bang in the goals for us this season, especially against Spurs and auld saggy-face for the way they've treated him and us before and during the transfer!
  21. There's a company up 'ere that manufacture electric vans! When I say manufacture I think they just take out the engine of a standard van and replace it with an electric unit. The report on them was on the local news not too long back and what made me chuckle was the reporter saying that they've had to add something that makes the sound of a traditional engine as customers can't get used to the fact they're so quiet!
  22. Just got back from Windermere/Ullswater and it was red hot, loads of sunshine! The missus and I only went for the day and we both forgot how fantastic it really is! Hopefully it'll be the same for all you folks, fingers crossed! P.S. The drive from Ullswater to Windermere over the top (1500ft high) is great Lots of winding road and fantastic views! Highly recommended
  23. :jawbig: Fantastic photos! Got to agree the first and last are stunning! Well done!
  24. Whoa! That's different! Never seen that grille before! Would be nice to see it from the front DayVe!
