  1. Ive got a 300 V2 which I find great. It would depend on what 'fully' integrated means. Some stereos can be more integrated than others so which HU do you have?. Are you just wanting ipod connectivity, or are you wanting possibly more in the future? If you can afford the bit extra and want more options I would go for a 300 or 500 they are much more flexible than the 100.
  2. Could be an automatic like AVLS (Automatic Volume Lowering System or variations of) which is common on personal stereo equipment, I have seen some head units that have similar, it would depend on your HU. Presumably the purpose of it in car stereos is to limit distortion or possible speaker damage. Not sure. Does it show any other problems. i.e. Dimming of display on heavy bass/high volume, etc? It could be that if your using a stock unit and your pushing it harder than its normally meant to go, its trying to stop itself or the speakers getting damaged
  3. Its an okay film, the harvester robot and bike robots are cool, and a very young looking arnie at the end (terminator 1 young! same cowlick lol), to me I was left at the end thinking 'is that it?' The storyline is a bit clumsy and very easy to figure out the twist very early on. Popcorn fodder, no deep thought involved. Roll on Transformers 2
  4. Adding the Juggernaut truck from death race? Too brutal maybe? How about every driver has to pick a car from a movie? The endless choices mmmmmmm
  5. Ive not seen a scout up close, but if the scout has the same seating as the standard octys, wouldnt it be worth trying to sit in a couple of the other models to see if there are any differences in comfort for you?
  6. Yes, but Im talking about what the officer misquoted about what the driver had put on the above forum about enhancing the performance of his car, not the actual speed on crash, etc. Officer quoted: "while shifting up at 140 miles per hour" Actual quote: "going pedal to the metal pushing 140 and upshifting" It just seems that it could be picked at by any insurance/litigation. AI is something I have a passing interest in, Im not trying to be picky.
  7. I know that, highly unlikely and all, but isnt it presenting presumption as fact by the police? Afterf all its not just US owners on there is it, and its a euro car after all. But yes its US driver so probably mph. EDIT: I suppose it could have even been a unit of distance from standstill. Just thought it was odd was all
  8. Have I read this worng? In the report it states that D1 posted on a website the following: "In one specific email D1 commented "that while shifting up at 140 miles per hour there tends to be a thud noise with the gear change"" where in fact he said "when im going pedal to the metal pushing 140 and upshifting there tends to be thud noise with the gear change..." no mention of it being 140 mph, it could have been kph on hard acceleration he was talking about, doubtful considering the outcome I know, but arent these reports supposed to be accurate? Or is it talking about a different thread that the guy posted on? Irrelevant now I know, just a curiosity
  9. 3 votes in it I wouldnt say is conclusive, its more a mark of everyones taste being evenly split, like I said before, as long as your happy with them, thats what counts.
  10. Hence my question, it was mainly on the 'makes it more desirable to pinch'
  11. Not seen that before. I know M5s are in a different league to skodas, but even a plain VRS is a powerful machine for young uns. Terrible shame.
  12. Did you have to tell your insurance company? Just wondering if changing colour of the wheels makes it a mod or more desirable as far as insurance goes?
  13. 5.50 & 3.30 looks a lot better than 6.00 & 4.00 respectively(which is what you actually pay anyway) Someones making a nice little earner for themselves
  14. Any young drivers on here doing an insurance deal with a curfew?
  15. As long as you like 'em, thats what counts, am seriously considering this colour now. I honestly think dar grey/black on black looks tasty (I used to aspire to own a 850r volvo in black or dark green with the anthracite alloys)
  16. I am certainly not an expert on this, was just passing along what I was told, wasnt sure if it applied to the tsi engines I do have 95 in mine around half the time because of the distance to tescos
  17. I think they look very nice, I much prefer the midnight stealth look to the chavvy dayglo max power jobbies
  18. So when exactly do you feel the benefit from a remap? Is it an all round improvement or is it specific to a gear/rev range or when the turbo kicks in etc?
  19. well about equal is the lowest difference you can get;) the 'petrol is cheaper' argument that folks have had against diesels doesnt seem to apply anymore
  20. An Audi tech who fixed my car on a call out said that the tfsi engines were not meant to have 95 ron petrol, only higher octane. And that they were being told to tell their customers this. (he wasnt actually promoting any brand, but told him I was running tescos 99 and he said that was good) Could just be another way to get out of warranty issues tho.
  21. and the vrs is meant to run on super rather than regular, so the price difference between the two will be even lower
  22. It did fade, the maxidot didnt display any open doors, no lights on on the dash, etc. Weird. Will the car disable the alarm if the battery is low? And would this cause the lights to not blink also?
  23. Thanks for the info My main hope was better fuel economy.more than extra power (although the extra power would be a plus) Seriously considering it if the fuel economy has a higher saving over the possible insurance hike for having it done. Is bluefin considered a remap or is it classed as something else? I like the idea of having a blue 'go faster' box lol
