I agree you mentioned it can be coded (sorry, should have read your post better). But that does not mean these tyres can be fitted on an S2. 235/45R18 is the dimension for an S3 and simply much too large for an S2.

That is not correct. 235/45R18 has never been available on an S2, but is the tyre size of an S3. The largest size you could get on an S2 was 225/40R18.

Those have a much larger diameter than normal on an S2. I doubt if they fit.

P0016 points to a stretched timing chain (especially for a 1.4 TSI...). I would go to a VAG-specialist or -dealer to have it looked at asap. If the timing chain jumps over the gears, you need a new engine block... Also the fuel pressure is most likely generated by the cam-shafts as well (at least, that's how it works in the 1.8 TSI), so there is definitely something wrong in that area. What does a VCDS-scan say?

That's not really a solution for the majority here who are looking for something newer than the outdated V17...

Did the map update for the Columbus from the above mentioned site actually work? If yes, where did the data come from? Since there was no release since the West Eur V17 version, the data must originate from somewhere else. Or did they simply relabel the old V17 as a newer version and sell you the old data? Did you see any differences between V17 and these maps?

But exactly that was explained in instruction no 32 of the instructions that you added to your post? How did you miss that? (Since it was indicated so clearly in the instructions that you yourself provided, it did not occur to me that you did not do this)

(Irrelevant to your case, but be aware the VAG uses software to keep that temperature gauge at exactly 90 when the real coolant temperature is between ~75 and ~110°C.... If you want to know the actual coolant temperature, you need VCDS or a general OBD device)

Do you have a petrol or a diesel engine? Might be relevant to mention that...

Is that MIB STD2 PQ from Yeti FL also possible if you have an S2 with a sound system, and premium car kit (which is not premium anymore, since 3G has been cancelled here in NL)? Might be interesting for me, since I plan to keep driving my 2011 (MY2012) S2 for another 5 years.

A few tips for you: Read the user manual! It's there for a reason, and clearly describes what to do in case the mentioned fault message appears. Stop shouting. We are not the cause of your problem, and not very eager to help people shouting at us. Use Google before starting another thread similar to older threads describing the exact same problem, and the solution.

@bigjohn Owatrol seems to have many different products. Which one have you used on that sump? Is it this one? Or a different one? I would like to stop the rust on the subframe of my S2 as well, and this product seems to be just what I need.

40k for a 9 year old diesel? That's not low mileage. That's extremely low. Have you owned the car since new? Someone might have "modified" the meter.... And isn't there a maximum age (in years) for the DSG oil?

I've had those nice cheap lights, but they generated lots of errors in my electronic modules (visible via VCDS). So I put the originals back in.

If the chain tensioner is still the original one, than it is definitely not the latest version, there have been many revisions since 2012.

If your temperature is 90°C while stationary and decreases while driving the issue is not a sensor but definitely a thermostat. And since you have a 6-speed DSG, the issue is most likely the thermostat of your DSG. Have it replaced and the problem will be solved.

If there is no park sensor switch on the center console, than the park sensors are after market (or not present at all ...). In any case we will not be able to help you, since we do not have a clue about what specific system has been installed.

I may have to correct myself: After some more digging around it looks like my memory let me down on this one. The 15" wheels did fit on the mentioned models, but it looks like they were never officially approved by Skoda. I know however of quite a few people who did use their old 15" winter wheels (195/65R15) on these models without issues.

That is not correct. They were approved for some early 1.9 diesels, and maybe also for the 1.6 successor? The versions with larger engines (1.4 TSI, 2.0 TDI and up) have 312 mm front brakes and need at least 16".

I have the same problem, but I can still open the bonnet. I think all S2's have it. The problem is that the plastic lever has deformed over the years. Study the mechanism if you want to fix it. Maybe a small mechanical modification will help, otherwise you'll have to exchange the mechanism.

@SailorBob74133, why don't you change the chain (or have it changed)? It's obviously lengthened. The oil pressure is not your problem, a worn chain is! Keeping driving with this worn chain will likely destroy your engines (ones it jumps a few teeth).

No. The S2 doesn't have that feature.

Just to be sure that your battery charge isn't consumed by a consumer: If you are handy with a multimeter, you can also measure the current consumption when the car is parked. After a few minutes this should be around 10 mA. I measured mine a few months ago (had a dead battery as well) and the current consumption was only 6 mA, which was excellent. My battery was very dead, after a few days the voltage had dropped to around 10.5V. Since both the original and the replacement (Varta E44) batteries only lasted about 4.5 years, I have now changed to an Exide EA770 battery. Hope that one lasts longer.

Most likely your battery is dead. With ignition off the reading should be around 12.5 V. 11.4V is way to low.
