  1. Opening a fresh can of glitches 😂
  2. Skoda Ireland has the 'Style' trim, and their specifications vary compared to those in the UK. Does it have an Irish style number plate? Even if not it could have been originally supplied to an Irish dealer but registered here. I owned a Superb that was purchased and registered in Ireland but brought straight to the UK.
  3. An unfortuante side effect of KESSY. At night on cars with a traditional key the interior lights come on when the physical key is removed from the ignition barrel, rather than when the door is opened, thus allowing the driver to gather their possessions between removing the key and opening the door. Skoda don't code the interior lights to come on when the KESSY ignition 'button' is pressed (understandable I guess as not everyone will exit the vehicle after turning the engine off, or wish to be illuminated whilst waiting inside the vehicle), instead forcing you to either open the door or turn on the interior lights manually. LED bulbs are pretty bright, a downside of them also being that they have a clean crisp output compared to traditional incandescent bulbs. I find them OK, but we have the dark not light coloured seats. Technology has advanced, LED's can now be had in 'warm white', perhaps it'll be something that they'll address for the MkII Kodiaq...
  4. It's a warranty issue, even on vehicles no longer under warranty. The push button for the ignition and engine stop/start is a well documented weakness on numerous Skoda models including the Kodiaq.
  5. We had this issue. The fix involved disconnecting the phone from the car, and ensuring both the phone on the car and the car on the phone were fully 'forgotten'. Then reconnect the phone again.
  6. Glad you got sorted, but hopefully it didn't take you the full 9 months 😂 The stop/start feature is automatically disabled when the car detects a fault i.e. when the EML or glowplug light is illuminated.
  7. Who sorted it for you? The supplying dealer or the original towbar installer?
  8. Check the terms and conditions of your extended warranty. If the waterpump is covered then pay the £110 diagnotic fee. It'll be refunded to you as part of a successful 'zero cost to you' warranty claim.
  9. Could this be the start of Skoda's recently communicated proposal of specifying zero towing capacities on the VIN unless the factory towbar preparation or towbar itself is fitted?
  10. +1 for the rear footwell vents, I had a small stone drop into one of mine, took me a while to find what it was rattling around, but in the end a very strong vacuum cleaner got it out. I now also have the aftermarket covers fitted.
  11. Heated rear seats. Never thought we'd still have the Kodiaq beyond the kids growing out of their car seats. Winding the kids up in the winter as their mum and I turn on the front heated seats is wearing a little thin 😂
  12. I was in our Skoda dealer last week, the service guy mentioned that the Skoda keys are very sensitive to battery quality. He claimed it was one of the most common issues they're dealing with at the moment.
  13. Try a search too, there have been plenty of posts on this subject in the past.
  14. Be sure you ask the fitter before you book them. Some fitters and some tow bars don't use the factory prep and still require their own.
  15. Others have experienced this and had them replaced under warranty, but not without a fight.
  16. 70km is approx 45 miles. It's not for me to determine what is best for others, but if I had access to another car for towing and longer journey's I'd happily run an all-electric vehicle for a 45 miles per day.
  17. £308.50 for an oil change!? It's £185 on Skoda's website... https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price
  18. Given how many brand new Kodiaq's have spent several months sat through the winter in the open air awaiting parts, then I'd imagine the issue is only going to become more widespread.
  19. Do you mean tail pipe? All variants except the vRS have their exhaust exits hidden behind the bumper, so to fit a tail pipe (and see it) then I'd imagine you'd have to cut the bumper...
  20. Given that Skoda will go to such lengths as removing door pocket liners and baggage hooks then I've no doubt hidden noise insulation didn't manage to escape the list.
  21. My 1.4 TSI is the same age, higher mileage (30,000 miles) and booked in for its fourth service at the end of the month. Last years third service included the Haldex, and I paid a bit extra labour to have the pump filter cleaned. This years service is a biggie as spark plugs are required, but for me oil and the oil filter is an absolute must, fresh oil is the lifeblood of any engine.
  22. Which is brilliant by the way, I can reverse my Kodiaq right underneath the caravans hitch first time, and without falling out with the wife 😂
  23. Definitely a dealer issue. My start button was replaced whilst in for a routine service. I'd mentioned it when booking it in and they said they'd order in a new button just in case, negating the need for a second visit. They said they were aware of issues with the button but that mine wasn't showing the typical symptoms, but they replaced it anyway. They also were more than happy to clean the filter during the Haldex oil change, even though Skoda claim it isn't needed, their master mechanic disagreed. Always prompt, always polite, always free courtesy cars available, the service team know their product and enjoy their job, probably because they're treated well by their employer (Des Winks, Scarborough), probably the closest you can get to a small family run Skoda franchise. Then there is an example of the complete opposite, DM Keith in York. I hate been fobbed off when my questions or requests don't fit the dealers agenda. The ability of the dealer is as important as the car itself, at least for me. Vote with your feet, but be sure to feed back as you leave.
  24. I ordered early 2018 too, I got the two free service offer.
