  1. AFAIK that only applies to the TDI, and definitely not to the EA211 engine (1.4TSI and 1.5TSI).
  2. There is a LOT more than just a relay within J519, so the measurement you made is based on an incorrect assumption.
  3. Between which two points exactly? Remember the BCM isn't just a straight through connection - the input will go into a microchip and the output come from a microchip, so the BCM resistance will be very high.
  4. Please explain - if you have VCDS then you can do an Auto-Scan - even if it shows no fault codes the information will help.
  5. The use of a code was removed many years ago and replaced with component protection (which can only be removed by a dealer or an independent with online access to the VAG servers).
  6. Really? I suppose being Electronics Manager for an automotive consultancy hasn't equipped me with that information? I think you need to look in the mirror for someone who doesn't know how CAN bus systems work.
  7. Probably not, my L&K has an Amundsen (plus Canton) and AFAIK Columbus was still an option on L&K models.
  8. I'm not suggesting bypassing a fuse??? - just connecting the input of a fuse to a switched feed not an unswitched feed. BTW any lead that carries power is NOT CANbus, CANbus is data signals only.
  9. Need to know a lot more: - it appears you have a 2019 Octavia (is this correct?) - what model of infotainment unit was fitted? Swing, Amundsen, Columbus, ... - do you have Canton? - what vehicle did the unit you have fitted come from (make, model and year)? - what model of infotainment unit is it?
  10. No, remove the fuse for the 12V sockets and connect the output wire from the piggyback fuse (with its input connection connected to the input side of the switched fuse, so they are independently fused) to the output pin of the place where the 12V fuse was.
  11. I'm 99% certain there ARE ignition switched fuses, even with KESSY.
  12. Over the years on here I reckon I've seen equal numbers of owners wanting the sockets to be ignition switched or always live! Shame that Skoda don't offer it as an owner configurable choice via the infotainment system. However, it can be achieved by remvoing the fuse that powers the 12V sockets and replacing it with a piggyback fuse into an ignition switched slot - such as the rear wiper?
  13. If the problem is estimated range then that's normal - the estimated range is based on about the last 20 miles of driving so if you mostly drive i towne then go on an open road the range will go up and vice versa. Most extreme example I've seen is driving 100 motorway miles on the weekend after a week urban commuting and seeing the estimated range larger after doing 100 miles than it was!
  14. VIN number isn't a code scan...
  15. Not that I've been able to find.
  16. Controller 09 - Central Electronics 16 - Security Access - enter 31347 10 - Adaptations Change ENG116959-ENG116317-Leuchte23SL HLC10-Lichtfunktion D 23 to Tagfarlicht (Daytime running lamps) Change ENG116960-ENG116336-Leuchte24SL HRA65-Lichtfunktion D 24 to Tagfarlicht (Daytime running lamps)
  17. ... and motorway and trunk road Service Areas could do with better signposting to the EV charging area(s).
  18. I'm taking a short winter break on Madeira next month and have been looking at car rental costs - and will end up renting a petrol car because the costs of renting an EV are nearly twice as much. Yes I know there's fuel costs as well, but on a small island like Madeira in only a week you can't do many miles so fuel costs won't make up the difference. The headline cost of renting an EV needs to be much closer to the cost of renting a petrol/diesel car for private individuals to stop scrolling and click on the EV.
  19. There are 3 positions of the interior light switch; on, off and on with open door - have you tried all 3 positions?
  20. The battery management system only charges the battery to around 80%, to allow headroom for the micro-regenerative braking system to put charge into the battery when coasting or braking.
  21. Haldex connects only to the rear wheels, so it's extremely unlikely to be anything to do with the Haldex IMHO. Sounds most like a front wheel bearing to me?
  22. Is the wiring between J519 and the HRW OK?
