  1. Sounds like CarPlay may not be enabled on the MIB2 unit, it requires a SwAP code that is VIN specific. I had to have this done when I bought my 2016 with a MIB2 Amundsen to get CarPlay working.
  2. What's the back story? Has this ever worked? Have you changed the phone? etc.....
  3. Try a genuine Apple cable, some cables are only for charging not data transfer.
  4. Silica bag in the coolant reservoir (don't want that) DSG oil change (want that, even though it's probably not due until 40K miles) Being 2015 it could have a MIB1 or MIB2 infotainment - if you want to use CarPlay or Android Auto then you need a MIB2 Plus all the usual stuff indicating a caring responsible owner...
  5. If you are thinking of going the eBay route be VERY careful that it's genuine cable as there are lots of clones - and you won't get any support from Ross-Tech (or here) if you have a clone.
  6. I suspect the default behaviour with a failed light sensor is DRLs on, which would mean you would need to get G397 fixed/replaced first.
  7. The 1941 update is to the infotainment system only, so will have no effect on the powertrain. More likely is the colder wetter weather affecting the power drain (wipers, heater, etc.) and hence the range.
  8. The language of this forum is English, please post only in English.
  9. SKoda UK have recently fallen into line with the rest of the VAG world and removed the 5 year "suggestion". There are plenty of threads on here giving the updated schedule.
  10. I've used the CR2032 in all 4 fobs from my 2015 and 2016 Octavia 3's with no problems.
  11. Ross-Tech and their UK distributors do an upgrade option which is worth looking at.
  12. Byte 19, Bit 0-3 means the bits 0, 1, 2 & 3 as a whole, which can have any value between 0 & F i.e. 00, 01, 02,... 0D, 0E, 0F Byte 19, Bit 4-7 means the bits 4,5,6 & 7 as a whole, which can have the values x0 where x can be between 0 & F i.e. 00, 10, 20,30,... D0, E0, F0 Byte 21, Bit 5-7 means the bits 5,6 & 7 as a whole, which can have the values 0x when x can be any EVEN number between 0 & F i.e. 00, 20, 40, C0, E0
  13. Looking at the temperatures in the fault code details it shows 72 and 74C which suggests the module is running hotter than expected. Has this just started happening, is the ambient temperature unusually warm?
  14. I've seen similar problems with CR2025 batteries, my theory is battery internal resistance differences (causing voltage drop under load) as they measured the same voltage down to the 1mV level on my 3 1/2 digit DMM on no load. I always uses CR2032 batteries now (a bit of a tight fit) and have had no repeat problems.
  15. It's intermittent and only happened once - clear the fault and see if it ever comes back or whether it was just the module having a hissy fit.
  16. Sender mechanically working, gauge working - what's left? Wiring and sender electrical side. Check the sender resistance changes when you move the float, if that's OK then it's time to check the wiring between the gauge and the instruments.
  17. GPS is sufficient - but VAG have a long history of getting clock setting wrong, e.g. on the B7 Audi A4 even if you have sat nav fitted it ignored the GPS time when setting the time on the instruments and even offered the option to set the time on the sat nav from the (wrong time) on the instruments!
  18. ... except on the van, my brothers 1970 Mini van still had the sliding windows (yes the upgrade from a van to a Clubman Estate 2 years later was very welcome!).
  19. Electrical loose joint, any number of other problems meaning the engine can't idle correctly...
  20. Strange - works great for me ⁉️
  21. My brothers 1972 Mini Clubman estate had the board fitted in production, as did my 1983 Mini 1000 saloon.
  22. On your previous Mk3 Octavia there was a simple VCDS/OBDeleven coding change to enable auto DST change - I've done it on both my Mk3 Octavias.
  23. Read the thread about updating to 1941 firmware...
  24. Toyota Aygo mark 2? Simple to drive and maintain and reliable.
  25. Older cars used fixed vane compressors and a clutch - so the compressor was either off or fully on - but for several years cars have used variable vane compressors which only use as much energy as needed. In my book that's a significant move on in technology, and fuel saving.
