Battery keeps going flat
Parking lights are the side lights on one side or the other. If you leave the indicator stalk to either the left or the right then the side lights on that side (parking lights) are left turned on with the ignition off - so did you check the indicator stalk on returning to the car?

Octavia MK3 Ride Hight
Neither, just been out to check they're 225/40R18.

Octavia MK3 Ride Hight
Both my previous 1.4 Elegance estate and current 1.8 L&K hatch have 225/40x17 tyres on 17" wheels.

NIP received from average speed camera
How far were you outside of the speed restricted zone at the 'Exit' photo? Is it possible to have kept within the 50 zone and accelerated 'immediately' to 70 at the end of the zone and achieve an average of 58?

Infotainment retrofitting
Correct.

Pop pop,SOS
That suggests sync assumes the car is left hand drive?

Help me with Enabling passenger mirror dip on selecting reverse
Same here, my previous Elegance didn't have memory seats and the mirror would never return to the same position. My current L&K has memory seats and the mirror always returns correctly.

Help needed please - West Yorkshire
VAG made changes to many modules from 2015 onwards which means the HEX-CAN cannot communicate with the newer ones, With the current cables, HEX-NET or HEX-V2, you CAN communicate with A9 directly.

DSG modes and gears-kickdown etc. ?gaslighting
I didn't say I waited until after I had pulled out to stamp on the throttle! I leave enough gap to the car in front to get a clear view up the road so that I have the space to stamp on the pedal while still behind the car I'm overtaking and still on the same side of the road.

DSG modes and gears-kickdown etc. ?gaslighting
I drive in "Individual" mode most of the time with the DSG mode set to Eco, so when I want to overtake on a single carriageway I flick the gearlever back to switch to Sport mode, and when the overtake is completed flick the gearlever back to switch back to Eco mode. Whether it drops a gear when I change mode I have no idea as I'm then on the throttle so it could be engaging Sport mode or being on the throttle that causes the downshift(s), but I don't think it matters as the desired effect is achieved i.e. reduction in TED (Time Exposed to Danger).

Battery problem?
Those lights all, to me, indicate a possibly intermittent problem with a wheel speed sensor - since all those systems rely on correctly knowing vehicle speed.

ECU light?
It wasn't great back in 1998 when the timing belt tensioner failed on my Corsa 1.6GSi causing 12 of the 16 valves to hit the pistons, fortunately I had paid for the extended warranty and had a new head fitted at no cost to me - it even paid for the hire car while the work was being done. Strangely that engine was a Lotus design which was sold to several other manufacturers who, I understand, had no reliability issues?

Help. The heating does not heat
Far better to ask on the Fabia II forum than the Octavia III forum !!!

Skoda fabia 1.2tsi 2016 misfire
You would be far better off posting in the Fabia forum not the Octavia forum....

3 Month Old Tyre Bulging
I had exactly the same with the factory fit P Zero Rossos on an RS4, was really quite glad they only lasted 9000 miles, after that I've avoided P Zeros and gone with mostly Michelin Pilot Sports or Goodyear Eagle F1 of various generations and been much happier with the consistency of grip and handling in all conditions. Not impressed with the Continental's on my L&K, so easy to spin the front wheels when moving away from stop.

Open tailgate
Do you have the virtual pedal hardware - specifically the sensor under the rear valance?

Engine Cover Recall - TSI
Do any other VAG group (VW, Audi, SEAT, etc.) vehicles or other Skoda models fitted with the same engine have the engine cover on the 2.0TSI? Usually the engine cover is the same basic part with just different badges. If so, what's the 'special circumstance' which makes it unsuitable for fitting to the Octavia 4?

Delivery times?
Skoda need to learn that not being honest about delivery dates will lead to more potential customers following this path, it's not just a lost sale now it's reputation damage.
-
1.5 TSI timing belt interval
Do you play the Lottery? According to Skoda UK the "recommended" interval is 5 years, but according to VW and the Skoda factory it's either 120,000km or "lifetime". Thios topic has been discused on here ever since I owned my first Mk3 in 2016 and has always provoled much discussion but no conclusion since the recommendations between country importaers and manufacturers are so inconsistent.

Battery issues and Auto Stop/Start not working
It's been said many times on here that the BMS only charges the battery to a maximum SoC of 80% to allow for this (very minor) regenerative braking effect. Certainly on my previous 1.4TSI which was old enough to be able to see SoC on the maxidot I never saw a value above 80%.

System update
... of which module? An Octavia 3 has many systems all with their own firmware.
-
Jump start ground point "A"
Really? - on a 2017 1.4TSI start/stop was standard on UK spec models. My previous 2015 1.4TSi definitely had start/stop, as does my current 2016 1.8TSI.

Battery issues and Auto Stop/Start not working
That lead has a small amount of resistance and is used by the BMS to measure the current going into or out of the battery - so it does matter that you use the terminal at the other end of the battery lead.
-
Battery issues and Auto Stop/Start not working
It won't and I didn't say it did, what I said was that the CAR BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM wouldn't know the battery was fully charged.
-
Battery issues and Auto Stop/Start not working
DIrectly to the battery or (correctly) using the chassis terminal on the bodywork NOT the battery negative terminal? Connecting directly to the battery negative terminal means the charging is not registered by the cars battery management system so it will still think the battery is not fully charged.
